Also includes knock code.

May be my imagination but seems to have improved the focus speed on the camera.
All seems a bit slicker.

Oh really I'll look at that.

Sprint update gets battery improvements...

I'm no developer, but I read online that Sprint's ota update brings visual vm update and battery improvements. Think it's possible to use those battery improvements in our Roms or kernel? Just curious.

Google voice for visual voicemail. Yes it is possible to add this stuff to the ROMs/kernel but who knows if its worth while.

I would be very interested in seeing their battery stats after this "improvement" to see where AndroidOS is. It would be nice if someone could solve that riddle, wrapped in an enigma and covered with a heaping portion of mystery.

For sure. If it wasn't for "android OS" eating up so much of the battery this phone would be ultra mega god phone(J.)

That update your referring to was ZV8 which we got over 2 months ago. This recent update gave us 3 things, mostly bug fixes.

No, I think he was trying to say it isn't anything we should worry about because whatever their update was, we already got it earlier...and we see no Android os improvements.

LS970ZV9 was the update I was referencing according to a few websites.
It says some small fixes, but specifically mentions battery improvements. I figure any increase can't hurt.

[Q] new version 532

Anyone know what's new?
Bug fixes, but we don't know which bugs. Sony hasn't released any change log.
Lots of things; settings menu looks different, keyboard different, new themes, quicker response from power button when waking device, clock app redone, and that's all I've seen so far.

Yes, that's because you were on an earlier firmware, like 475, or something ancient! I updated from 510 to 532 yesterday and there are NO visual changes.

If you talk about the update over the .532, "system file update" I really don't see any change and nobody reported anything. It feel really weird not to have any change log from Sony.

Updating to it today it caused more bugs, phone kept randomly rebooting, had to revert to old firmware to get it back to normal. Chinese forums report the same.
I haven't really noticed any bugs in 532, but the screen is a little too sensitive now, so i should've stayed on 510. Btw, ParanoidAndroid is available for us now in the Dev section. It hasn't been uploaded yet, but it's finally here!

On the update, I haven't noticed any bugs at all. Noticed no difference at all in fact but then it was a tiny little update in UK.

The update is probably a screen calibration update that corrected some handset with yellow tint.

Oct.15 Sony maintenance update for XZU/Z1

Anyone received it yet? Any noticeable improvements?
I'll post up findings once I receive it.

Eh... Should've put this in general. If possible, please move this mods.
Additionally, check out the Sony blog for further details:
http://blogs.sonymobile.com/2013/10...e-for-xperia-z1-and-xperia-z-ultra/#more-9857
Seems there may be a recalibration of the screen, improvements to the battery, etc. Nice.

Well spotted and thanks for the heads up? I haven't received it yet on o2 in UK, wonder if operators will check it out first before releasing it or it'll come direct from Sony servers.
Edit... Yeah, it's being reviewed by carriers first so will likely take a few weeks before its pushed out.

Damn it. I knew i should've checked all sections before i made a thread about this in the general section. Oh well

Hahaha it's all good, as long as other people know and hopefully someone gets the update pushed out soon that can give us some info.
Mine shouldn't be tied to a carrier, so I should be receiving it soon (fingers crossed).

I'm in Canada with Bell and received the Kit Kat update on my G2 yesterday. Knock Code is not included (at least not under settings where it should be - Security or Accessibility). Regardless, Kit Kat makes the phone more response and Knock On works much better.

Updated yesterday for me.
I updated mine, but I'm showing CVE-2015-3864 as still vulnerable.

I used an app called "Stagefright Detector" from the store. Takes about 5 seconds to run. There are 2 or 3 other apps in the store for this issue.
Or did you mean the update?
More importantly, did it break anything? I think I will wait a few days to see.
New to the Note 3, previously had a S3, rooted and ROMed, so this is a bit different for me.
Thanks,
Tommy
I don't think it broke anything, I was hoping to fix my light sensor with this upgrade but no. Ever since the Lollipop upgrade my light sensor sucks
