I don't have the rights to post in ROM thread, so i leave it here. MHL connection is not working in NuSenseSIX RC 2.5. In earlier versions I haven't tried. May be this problem is in its kernel.

Come to think of it. It could. Go to my FlyKernel thread. Flash the insecure kernel and see if that fixes your problem.

Yes, it works on stock unsecured kernel from your kernel thread.
So, also I tried to see how it works on FlyKernel 1.0 and found, that if i plug in mhl adapter (already plugged in TV) into the phone when HDMI input in TV is not selected, it hangs the One and only adb reboot helps in that case. On FlyKernel 2.0 there is same issue. But when I choose HDMI on TV first and only after that connect the phone MHL output works normal.
And there are no such issues on your stock unsecured kernel. It shows that mhl connected when i choose hdmi input on TV and just shows nothing when i choose TV input. No freezes.
yes i tested and it works on 2.1 Well...

OK... Rooted my GS2 with CF-Root v5.0, flashed to CheckromRevoHD v4 and installed mods etc.
However, still can't connect any bluetooth gamepads (Wiimote/Sixaxis)? I can only assume I'm still using the Samsung Bluetooth driver?
Please could someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks
*Edit* Flashed kernel to DarkKnight 2.4.3 but it still says "no route to host" when I try to connect a Wiimote?

Anyone? I know it can be done. It's just I'm not sure which ROM/Kernel is needed??
I would have thought my current config would have worked?

Kinda nitpicking, but fine, I should have said stock based ROM.
So from that you should be able to deduce information about non-stock based ROMs (AOSP).

Apologies if you thought I was being flippant... not my intention.
So which ROMS have a modified Bluetooth driver? I'm looking at MUIU & CM7.1, however, not sure if these are any better than what I already have? Also can I simply flash over the top from within CWM, without loosing all my settings etc?
Many thanks.

You can find information about CM7 in the Q&A thread in this very forum, and MIUI on its own site.

So the issue is the "stock" (Samsung based) bluetooth stack. It doesn't work with bluetooth controllers, including Wiimotes and (until somewhat recently) ps3 controllers.
However, the Sixaxis Controller had an update I think in November that employs a workaround that uses some kind of tunneling protocol to connect to ps3 controllers. (I have this app, which is paid, but does work on Samsung based ROMs) Wiimotes still do not work on any ROM that is using the Samsung bluetooth stack.
AOSP based ROMS, such as MIUI, CM7, or any ROM based on those, should be able to use both Wiimotes and ps3 controllers normally.
Heys guy I just brought a S2 and it will arrive in 4 more days, been using a x10i and has been rooting and installing custom rom.
Now I'm new to S2, any thing in particular that I should know?
What is the Original Android Development and the Android Development difference?
Which is the some of the recommended ROM (no bugs, don't want MIUI) since there's really a lot custom rom compared to my previous x10i.
And one more question, what is the price of the HDTV Adapter? Can I connect S2 to a just HD ready tv with hdmi port? Or it must be a full HD tv?

Original android is supposed to be ASOP tweaks/roms whereäs the other has to do with touchwiz (I believe, but then again I've seen threads crossposted in the wrong section all the time). As for ROMs, I would personally stay far away from the ICS ROMs because they're nowhere near ready for daily use; there are many bugs and problems. When looking through firmwares there's no difference between XW and XX other than the countries that the ROM was released into, you can still flash these ROMs for use anywhere in the world. Personally I'm using XXKK5 because KL1 and above are developer builds with inconsistent framework changes. CheckROM KK5 is what I suggest for a stable ROM that works good. I also highly recommend JKay deluxe. CM7 is also an option, but I personally had problems with charging and was forced off the ROM. Your mileäge may vary. Also there are a ton of radio firmwares available: try out the latest revision and take note of your battery usage over a few days. Try others to see which works best for you. There's no real "golden" radio firmware. I personally use KH3 on AT&T in Phoenix.

If you wanna to try ICS ROMs, I will suggest you try simplistic. Now I use it as daily rom and I feel it's good enough.
And if you want to use HDTC Adapter , I suggest you stay in Stock Rom first. As I know, most custom roms don't support HDMI output.
There are no recommended roms. Try some out for yourself & see how you find them. A rom that works well for me will not necessarily give you the same experience.
for my opinion i suggest you flash cm7
but if like the intersting things, just flash cm7/andyX

Have you tried wiping and reinstalling the ROM
Ricey
wait for cm9, i've tried the devel vers and is very fast!
Just a suggestion
Hiya! Well, since you haven't got your phone yet, I would suggest you play around with your stock ROM first. The Original Android Development is for AOSP ROMs, ROMs that were created from scratch. The Android Development section is for custom tweaked versions of the stock ROM if I'm not mistaken.
I'm currently using Simplistic ICS but it has its fair share of bugs. You might wanna try insanity ii. It's a nice AOSP ROM. Never had FC's and it's amazingly fast and battery life is great. Good luck!
Hi bud, good choice of phone. If you want best standard ginger bread go to original development and flash intratech KK5 original Sammy ROM it's seamless!!!
Or, like me and you want to jump into ICS go to www.darkyrom.com and flash facieto's ICS LP2 THEN on top of that, upgrade to his LP6! Came out this week and it's seamless and crash free, all works!

try rewipe and reinstall ?
As I know, to get someone call your phone just solve the home-button issues.
I never met lock screen problem. I am using RC5 + Update 2 , try this combination. Also remember , don't directly flash update package after installation. Following these steps: Install RC5 - (reboot) - Install Update 1 - (reboot) - Install Update 2 - (reboot) - Call from others phone to unlock home button.
Hope this help. Good Luck , bro.

Stock ROM, or any ROM based on stock. It needs the Samsung framework. So nothing that is pure AOSP (such as CM or MIUI) will work. If you want a ROM that is as close to AOSP as possible that still supports the MHL adapter, try GingerMOD.

See above, but there are many others. I don't personally use any of them (I'm still on stock, rooted, modded myself), so I can't recommend one above any others. It's a personal preference anyways, so you should just try some and decide yourself.

Was looking to root using superoneclick and odin . But when i download a rooted kernel and extract the zip , i end up with another zip file, extract that and i end up with a Zimage file .is this the file i am supposed to load into odin.

Hi. Can someone help me out with a rom that i need please.
The problem i am having is that im not sure my cable is working.
I have searched and found out that the i9100xxlph has mhl and otg working but i cant get them to work.
Is there anyone that can confirm an ics rom that has both otg and mhl working?
Cheers

Oh and preferably a no wipe version as i dont have a cable for odin anymore.

I'm quite confident that you are wrong. Feel free to prove me wrong with evidence.
Also not sure why you bumped an old thread to post this as MHL and OTG work fine on pretty much all stock ICS ROMs.
So my bro got a i9300 S3 (international), its his first android after iphones for years.
Anyway he has tried to install Cyanogenmod and reckons there is no wifi (will show his router but not connect)
Stock works fine but he hates touchwiz.
The steps he has taken are....
updates to 4.3 from Kies
rooted via odin
installed cwm
installed cm10.2 and gapps
He says everything is perfect except wifi, its sees router and saves connection but doesnt connect.
His baseband is i9300buugj3
Now he is really gutted as he loves the stock android look.
Any fixes and steps would be appreciated! (I cant get to him to have a look myself hence the post!)
Perhaps update baseband would fix?? (And if so how would he do that? Via odin? Does CWM being installed affect anything?
Thanks in advance!!

this happens sometimes, i m too using cyanogenmod myself, when i was using stock rom i was able to connect to my college's router, but after flashing cyanogenmod, i was not able to connect to it, nowdays they have replaced with new router, n there is no problem inn connecting to it, even i never had problem to connect to my home's router, this happens with some router.. maybe this time with your's.. try to connect to other router than your's.
I have the exact same problem
my phone sees the router and saves connection but doesnt connect.
I also tried Wifi tether from my other phone and even that doesnt connect, it just saves the network...
this is happening on all CM based 4.2.2 roms...
havent tried 4.3 and AOSP roms...

FYI, most wifi problems cause by kernel. You may try flash different kernel. Here we got Flykernel & Lunar Max Kernel. Give it a try.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2762319
@IMarks
Flashing the custom kernel still doesn't give you WiFi?
I fixed the issue, the insecure kernel and flykernel didnt work but the lunar kernel did.
still one issue though, media audio doesnt work over bluetooth, system audio / call audio seems fine however. i tried with beats audio on and off but it didn't make a difference.
