I just want to start with I love this game and it runs very well on my Note.
Does anyone else play this game? and if so about how long can you play before your battery dies? Just curious as this app seem to really take it out of the Note.
I got about 35minutes of play before my full battery was down to 20%.

So I have been looking for Modern Combat 3 and many other games and simply can't find them in the Android market. I am assuming this is because they are not yet compatible with the Razr? If this is the case how long does it generally take for games to be compatible because it seems most of the EA and Final Fantasy/ premium games dont show up in the mark?
Also it seems when unplugging my phone it goes instantly from 100% to 99% and I was wondering if others have noticed the same? I guess it bothers me more than it should though. Thanks in advance!

Game thing is stupid, give it time.
And yes, dropping to 99 right away is normal.

The lack of games is due to no dev support from my understanding, and the fact that google has to review the motoblur-esque theme that it's running (or something along those lines). It's really disheartening to me though, because games are a lot of the reason I got the device. I know most of the Gameloft games won't work...
The last 1% might not be charged for several hours, even after the phone says fully charged.
Pretty common with Li-po hybrids. Leave connected the entire night and it wil probably be 100% a few minutes at least. =)
If you have other battery problems, just let the phone die completely from a drained battery and charge 100% without booting the OS. Supposed to help, since nothing else is using your charger amps.
Sorry if this is a total noob question, but I'm pretty new to the tablet scene.
Just finished watching an NHL game on the tablet in its entirety with flash video. Before the game, my prime was at 100% and after it was at 65%. Is this normal.
I should mention I didn't know to do the 8 hour precharge when I first got it. Really hoping I didn't muck up my battery because of this......

Yes, streaming video from the net to the prime can drain the battery at a faster rate. since its being Software decoded/processed going into the prime. your best bet is to watch streams in power savings mode. battery will last the longest in that mode streaming movies. it'll play the video fine still with no issues.
And especially Flash is super battery hungry, one of the reasons why Adobe discontinued Flash for mobile platforms...
For sure it's normal. Flash is a power-hungry hog on all platforms.
Is it safe to play long hours with Att Galaxy Note? I'm running 1566max/382min OnDemand and I noticed after 30-45 mins of gaming my "phoblet" gets very hot...
So no one plays on their notes? Hmmm
I play MC3 and Shadow Gun and of course it's going to get warm. These games are extremely graphics intensive. Heck my phone gets warm from simply surfing the net. If its getting crazy hot. Take a break.

That's the thing I'm not sure what "crazy hot" is like Prolly burning hot?
if you see 55c that's getting to the dangerous hot
anything less than 50c you are still fine, and can play for as long as you want

Any good app that you recommend that would show you temps?
Hmmm is battery temp = cpu temp? I didn't think so but the apps that I can find, I noticed they are showing same results from battery temp I found in setcpu...
Looking at the battery temp will be a good enough gauge of when you should stop

Does anyone have any ideas on how to reduce the ridiculous battery drain caused by playing this game on my Galaxy S3? It literally kills my phone in 90 minutes.

Its a full 3d ram and processor intensive game , what do you expect. This isn't Pac man .
So you play a game for over an hour and a half and expect a full battery? Use your head

No, I expect to play a game for an hour and a half and not have a dead phone. GTA 3 drains less than 50% battery if I play it for the same time.

I noticed the same thing. I can go for over an hour and a half (I have the S3 i9300, so I don't about you), but yeah, the drain is ridiculous compared to 3. The only reasonable explanation I can come up with is that it's a more complex game (which it is), but it's not THAT much more graphically-complex than 3. Sure, cars have a sun-glare effect on them in the day light but that's about it. Hopefully I'm wrong and it's some kind of bug; performance is fine, even fully-maxed out (very smooth). But the drain is so high that my phone uses more power than it takes in while plugged in and playing. I cannot charge and play at the same time; it merely slows down the draining.
I really hope they fix this bug soon (if you could call it that). The graphics settings should be more scalable. When playing on my Galaxy S2 I can't see any major differences between the detail settings. Even on low detail + ~50% resolution settings I have to charge my 2000mAh battery twice a day!
About a month ago i was running a bench marking program, antutu and my phone got really hot. Ever since then my battery gets really hot when ever i do anything remotely intensive, like playing any games or recording videos.
It gets pretty warm just surfing the web.
My battery life now is great if i dont do anything with my phone but make calls, but if i play a game or anything intensive the phone gets pretty hot and the battery life awful.
Now i can deplete my battery if i play a game for 45 min..
I just ran antutu 1 time and my phone turned off because of heat.
Has my battery given up the ghost?
Thanks
well for one I'd stop running benchmarks with that... there might be a bug or something that you/devs don't know about that is draining your phone.
how long have you had your phone? talk to htc about a replacement or something if it's really bad, don't mention the benchmark app though
re
Just did a factory reset. So far the battery is still hot when doing anything remotely intensive.
Might have to take it into a Verizon store in the morning.
Its 4 months old..thx
I've noticed mine gets up to like 100F while playing a game.... how hot are we talking here?

edit just hit 108 while typing this.... Now 109
The app Du battery meter is reporting the voltage as 3.8v
Is this right?
I would go and get a new phone just to be safe to be honest. The sooner you do the more of a chance you have for them to replace it
Any update?
Bump. Interested to know the outcome as my friend is having a similar issue
