let ur device cool for a bit, then try flashing again... try flashing a stock firmware use gingerbread. When that is done press home + power and enter recovery and do factory reset... hope this helps
BTW what ROM were u using??
and i can't boot it
i don't know is in cyanogen mod 7.1 with android 2.3.7 and clockworldmod 4.
If it hangs just force a restart

how i make a force restart???
i let the phone to cool, i reset firmware but nothing. same problem(((
what happens when u try to switch device on?
the screen it's light and off over and over.
some little facts on the aces cpu.....its is a 600mhz cpu that has been overclocked to 800mhz.........and when you install cyanogen mod 7.1 with the overclock kernel like me you have to be carefull on what you set it at.........because on my phone if i accidentally set my cpu over 860mhz the phones automaticly reboots and resets it back to 800mhz......so if your phone kept on running when you set it on 940mhz and it did not reboot it might be that your cpu has been cooked, but you can still try to flash gingerbread via odin and then cm7 again maybe that will work.

Emo,,,im not sure but isnt it that the cpu in an ace is a 600mhz cpu that has been overclocked by samsung to 800mhz???? please correct if i am wrong......ye and that is what i said from the start this guy has probably cooked his cpu.

As told by anonym0us_ , the MSM7227 was originally supposed to run at 600Mhz .
But a percentage of the processors can handle faster speeds (e.g. 800Mhz) so it was rebranded and sold as MSM7227-Turbo .
In theory it's not overclocked , just at its max speed
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA App
Unless it's set to boot at 940 it SHOULD return to 800 on boot. Maybe flashing the non-oc kernel can work?

oh ok but that means the cpu is gonna get very damaged after a while doesnt it??? if it is running on max all the time that kinda means it should be dangerous.
:S you did it wrong!
To solve this you maybe flash directly to cm7, try to enter to recovery and wipe all data, format /system, clear EVERYTHING, flash again with odin to cm7 and try to boot...
It happened to me, but i could enter to recovery mode...
Good luck!
yes the cpu i set on boot but how i can enter in recovery mode?
why on earth the at&t Lineup of SGS family always getting the same
problem over and over again?
i used to have an sammy's captivate and the SOD problem was very annoying!
a year ago i was intended to change cappy for his bigger brother the infuse 4g
but i didn't because more SOD problems.
is this a curse or someone in the at&t lineup is jerking all over the
hardware? ?!
does the I777 having this problem too?

I've never had an SoD of my phone unless I was messing around with something I shouldn't have in the kernel source code. (And no kernels along those lines ever made it to the public...)
So your saying that i should'v be Paranoid about the phone?
By the way is there any chance to put LTR Support in a rom?
Thats about it..
Many thankes!

With the LoC count where it is and the insane number of logical branches... I'm sure there's a few edge cases that still will result in it. It's unavoidable (and 100% understandable).

I never had SoDs with my Infuse either, except for the early days when I was unaware of the 800 MHz suspend limitation, or when I was too aggressive with undervolting.
SetCPU with a screen off profile that has a limit of less than 800 MHz = almost guaranteed SoD on unpatched kernels. But anyone who is rooted running SetCPU can install a patched kernel to fix that. The 800 MHz suspend limit issue doesn't affect anyone with a stock device.
I do recall that something about Widget Locker somehow causes SoDs (most likely because it mucks around with the lockscreen code), but again - that's not an issue with a stock phone.
i had SoD on stock firmware and i get it about 3 times a week on CM7.1 as well. it's the most frustrating thing about this phone. and that is saying something
Excuse my ignorance but what is SoD

It's Sleep of Death.
Meaning when you put the phone into sleep, it actually goes into coma .
You have to spank it a few times before it wakes up.
I had an AT&T GS1 that had major SoD issues. It's the most annoying thing ever.
Now my GS2 just has battery issues, where the Android system takes up to 80% of the phone's battery life sometimes.

Android System or Android OS? The latter is a known issue with the UCKK6 update.
Different SoC no prob. Check i9100 forums. Almost same phone and no problems with SoD

Reinstall using Kies Firmware Upgrade And Initialization
I did the following suggested by someone at At&T forum. It seems working. I am posting detailed steps here for anyone who is interested,
Please backup everything on your phone memory before you attempt this. This will wipe out your phone completely.
1. Open Samsung Kies as Administrator
2. Goto Tools -> Firmware upgrade and initialization
3. Enter the model name SGH-I777 (in all upper case letters)
4. Enter the Serial Number of your phone. This can be found under the batter.
5. Click OK. Then you need to accept the warning and it will tell you which firmware it is going to flash onto your phone. It will be 4.0.4. Accept that as well.
5. It will download the necessary files. At this point you can shut down the phone and remove the battery and re-insert the battery.
6. The while pressing the volume Up and Down keys simultaneously (Not the power button) plug the USB cable. Your phone should boot into download mode. It will display a message Downloading..... on the screen.
7. Start Upgrade button on the Kies upgrade screen should now be activated. If not, you may need to reinstall the USB drivers for i777 and may need to reinstall Kies.
8. Once you hit Start Upgrade button, it will start download the proper firmware from the web and then start sending it to the phone. You will see a progress bar in the phone as well. Sometimes it could give you an error similar to "DLL load failure..." If that happened, try change the Compatibility mode of Samsung Kies to Windows Vista SP2 and run in Administrator mode. This can be done by right clicking on Kies icon and selecting Properties --> Compatibility tab.
9. Once the Kies finish transferring the firmware to the phone, the phone will start installing it and once finished, it will reboot.
10. I also factory reset the phone after the upgrade by booting into stock recovery console. You can shut down the phone, press Volume UP + DOWN together and press power button without releasing the volume keys. Then select Factory Wipe and hit Power button.
11. I disabled all the AT&T bloatware anyway because I don't like them and use them anyway. I don't know that was the case because it didn't help me earlier.
Now my phone works as it used to be. 4.0.4 seems to have a good battery life even with WiFi switched on all the time. Earlier if I keep WiFi on for few hours it completely drains my battery. I am happy with my phone again.
Thanks scot070 at AT&T forum for the wonderful tip.

I also have this tablet, bought it on Sunday. I updated the software to the 1026 the otherday, update went as planed. It was only the 1011 (or something like that) that was bricking their tablets.
Tablet seems ok to appart from 2 big problems 1st is the wifi is really weak on mine, i need to use a mini usb to ethernet adapter to get online reliably.
2nd problem is I dont seem to be able to download anything from the play maket, I keep getting 101 download errors.
I have read that clearing the market cache, data and from google services framework and logging out from accounts on the tablet and restarting and hard reseting should clear the problem but it dosent.
Anyone else having google play problems or is it just me
The tablet seems to be recognised by google play as its in my list of devices along with my ZTE blade which still has the ability to download apps.
Thanks for any help.
Mark.

Good question, i would be happy to find somebody.. The original ICS is not that good ported. I use MyAudio 808DCC (what is the same tab with different brand name) with Gadmei ROM.
This tablet is also sold as "iToos i8". On their forum it was said 4.1 is in beta stage but not stable yet. It's not expected to be released this year (remember chinese new year begins in february).
But some custom ROM would be nice. Btw. does anybody else here have problems that the E8HD won't wake up after standby and just stay with black screen? I have to force it to shut down by pressing the powerswitch for about 10 seconds and hear some noise from speaker, then it will reboot fine.

If you have 4.0.4 ROM the simplest way is to use the attched 870s2-root.zip file (it is for Mediacom 870S2 which is a rebranded Gadmei):
1. Copy 870s2-root.zip on the root of your SD card (DO NOT extract, just copy)
2. Insert SD in your tablet then boot up by pressing Volume UP + power buttons to enter recovery
3. Wait until the recovery menu appear, then using Volume-Up and Volume-Down buttons to scroll the menu and power to enter, select "install patch from SD card" or something like that
4. You will see files list on SD card, again using volume and power buttons, select 870s2-root.zip file
5. Patch will be applied in few seconds
6. Now select "reboot" item.
Now your tablet is rooted but you need super user tool to take advantage of that.
Go to Play Store and search for "Superuser" or "SuperSu" or other tools like them, install it and you'll have a fully rooted gear.

First post so be gentle.
My Gedmei E8-hd was a bit of an impulse purchase, and it would appear from what I have researched that this may have been a mistake.
My main issue is not being able to maintain a stable wifi connection, which is obviously a major requirement for any tablet. Although, I have read devices being bricked with certain hardware/firmware combinations I have given both the latest official and the rooted version above a go. My problem is I get to the menu, choose update from sd card option, choose the file, but shortly after the update fails to run and Mr Android falls over.
Has anybody had this issue or know a reason why this would occur. In any event, would the firmware make any difference to the wifi issue?
The battery icon on my E8hd has become permanently stuck at 100%, is there a way to refresh it or clear the battery stats?
Also I see there is a newer 1128 ROM out (im on 1026). The method of instalation seems a bit strange to me. What is step 1 for?
升级方法:

I would agree that the wifi isnt that good, its not that bad either. If you are using WEP encryption then you stand no chance of getting a good wifi signal. If you have the choice then go with a WPA2psk encryption, it works so much better with the E8.
Im not 100% sure about the firmware affecting the wifi but I would say it does (correct me if im wrong), on my ZTE blade the wifi was quite bad with the stock Orange rom but its really good with just about any developers ROM.
As for the E8 i dont know if either of the updated roms from Gadmei have any wifi fixes/improvements included in them.

I did try to decompress the zip file but will try again and see if it works this time.
I downloaded that File in step 1 and read the word doc in there, as far as I can tell it seems to be formating the sd card as FAT32, whats the point of this as my card is allready FAT32, or is this step doing something else?
It seems a really strange thing to be doing when to install the last 1026 or whatever you just had to copy the rom zip to the sdcard like I do with my ZTE balde and install from there.
Has anyone installed 1128? how did you do it?
I installed ROM 1128 and it was a very simple job:
1. Download ROM file from the link i reported in previous post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35722947&postcount=12
2. Extract files to SD; no folder, following files should be present on SD root: aml_autoscript, factory_update_param.aml, g11refE8-ota-eng.bestidear.zip, patch_gadmei_e8t3cn.zip, u-boot.bin, uImage, uImage_recovery.
3. Reboot in recovery mode and installation will go on automatically
After installation completed, you should root your device again; you can do it with simple procedure I reported here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35936767&postcount=14
Hi, I've just got this chinese mobile and when I tried to root it, update it, etc., I find that there's no info on the web, at least in english (forget spanish).
So I'm gonna share all my experiences with this device.
A - How to enter stock recovery or custom recovery (TWRP in my case):
1. Power off phone.
2. Press first VOL UP button and then POWER button without release VOL UP.
3. Keep pressing both buttons until a green screen appears, then release POWER button but not VOL UP.
4. Keep pressing VOL UP button until a blue screen appears, then release it.
5. Wait a few seconds and the recovery must open.
B - How to put phone in update mode:
1. Power off phone.
2. Press first VOL UP button and then POWER button without release VOL UP.
3. Keep pressing both buttons until a green screen appears, then release VOL UP button but not POWER.
4. Keep pressing POWER button until a black screen appears, then release it.
5. Connect mobile to pc between USB cable.
NOTE: You can do this process with the USB cable connected at first.
C - Install Drivers:
1. Download drivers from my link below and unpack it.
2. Execute step "B - How to put phone in update mode".
3. When windows found a new driver, don't let it search on the web, install it yourself through Device Manager.
4. Read "Readme.txt" file from my driver's dropbox folder.
D - How to install stock rom:
1. Power off phone and disconnect USB cable.
2. Get stock rom and NvMultiDown tool (you can get the rom from web or my link below).
3. Uncompress rom to a folder you want.
4. Open NvMultiDown.
5. Specify the path, below the label: "Please select the AP file path", of the uncompressed rom.
6. Check "Don't format storage partition" option (only if you don't want to lose everything in it).
7. Uncheck "Reserved the product parameters" option.
8. With NvMultiDown open, execute step "B - How to put phone in update mode"
9. Wait until process finish then close NvMultiDown.
10. Power off phone pressing POWER for 5 seconds more or less.
11. Start the phone.
NOTE: All this process must be execute with drivers installed.
E - How to install custom rom:
1. You must have custom recovery, for ex. TWRP o CWM.
2. Copy rom to memory phone.
3. Execute step "A - How to enter stock recovery or custom recovery"
4. Install rom as usual with custom recovery.

Thanks for the info, I might be buying this phone. I had a question though and thought maybe you'd know. I'm torn between getting the v8 or v9. To me it looks like the v8 has better specs but have seen people claim the v9 is better.
V8 – $168 ( a few different sites, same price)
V9 – $249 ($209 on one site)
V8 – NVIDIA Tegra 3 Quad-core 1.5GHz
V9 – NVIDIA Tegra 3 AP33 Quad-core 1.5GHz
V8 – 1GRAM,16GB Nash flash built in – up 64GB card
V9 – 1GRAM,4GB ROM – up to 32GB card
V8 – 4.5 inch IPS Capacitive Multitouch – 1280 X 720 pixels
V9 – 4.5 inch IPS Capacitive Multitouch – 960 X 540 pixels
V8 – 1.0MP front camera,8.0MP back camera
V9 – 0.3MP front camera,5.0MP back camera
V8 – Built in Battery 1820mAh
V9 – 1800mAh
V8 – 12,511 Antutu Benchmark
V9 – 12,015 Antutu Benchmark
Just wondering if you looked at the v9 and thought the v8 was the better buy because thats what im leaning towards.

Hi, I was in your situation too before I've bought the V8.
I needed a phone with 3G (worldwide), gps, wifi and bluetooth and V8 fulfilled my needs.
Beside every features each one has, I can tell you about the V8, which I finally bought.
- Screen: Excelente.
- Response: Very good (not excelent because I'm little fussy)
- GPS: Very good (not with all roms, but with stock roms).
- WiFi: Very good, stable.
- Bluetooth: Very good (not a big requirement).
- Battery: Very poor (I'll explain bellow).
- App: I don't care, I put my owns.
- Ergonomic: Not bad, a little bit for my taste,
- Construction: Good enough.
The big problem all phone has right now is battery and V8 maybe it's the worse. Using with the screen on, I don't think it'll last 6 hours without 3G, only WiFi.
For example, a 30% in less an hour. Too much for me.
I think V9 must be a little better because the screen is smaller, but I'm not sure and I don't know, you must ask someone who have it.
There are resources in the web, not much. The problem with it is the language which is in chinese, so you must use a translator which of course its not perfect.
In general it's a very good phone for my, it gives me all I need at a low price. The difference in prices is not much, but why am I gonna pay more for something that gives me the same at a lower price ?
I hope I helped you, anything you need just let me know.

Hi,
First of all I would like to tell you that it is really nice from you to reply in such approach as you did.
I understood greatly about the V8 specs from your impressions and comments. Thank you for that.
I wonder if I can ask from you for something that means great deal for me.
I already saw some picture samples taken in the daylight with the V8, I was greatly impressed with
the camera quality.
My question for you is if you can take photos using the flash of the V8 in dark conditions/no light at all.
?
I can't find anywhere, not even from sellers or reviews about the V8 photos in the total darkness.
I'm interested to know if the V8 can take night/low light/total darkness photos.
Can you please take some photos in the darkness and upload them for me (us) to see them?
I will ever highly appreciate your help with this.
Thank you

Hi dude, no problem about darkness pictures.
Take a look at this link:
h t t p s : / / w w w . d r o p b o x . c o m / s c / 0lsi34vjust9nuk / 6Ytdcf-_hn
These were taken in total darkness (sorry about redundancy) without any light, only flash which is very powerful.

great job fox
Thank you fafastrungen
fafastrungen, you're the best. just to let you know that you are the only source in the entire internet that shows how the V8 takes photos in darkness. Finally a Chinese phone that has a proper flash
one more question though, can you please tell me if there is a small delay when you're clicking on the shot button until actually the photo is being taken or is it immediate (like nexus 4, iphone 5, haier w910)?
i have a little kid and he keeps moving all the time, so when I have a millisecond that he's not moving, I need the camera response time to be quick.
Thank you again for the flash photos, you totally rock! like your guitar

No delay at all, it's inmediate.
Camera has stabilization option and it works pretty well.
Thanks

There are differences between stock and custom rom to install.
Stock roms must be installed with NvMultiDown tool, custom roms must be installed with custom recovery, for example CWM.
Depends on what you need, just follow my guide in the right point and that's it. It's not complex once you've done one time.

No problem man, I can help you in anything you need but ask me what you want to know because there's no more steps than I've wrote in the first thread.
In short, the first step is to install drivers, second step depends on what you want to do:
- if you want to install a custom rom, go to point "E" and do what it says.
- if you want to install a stock rom, go to point "D".
Describe what you need.
Apparently, I did something wrong with Chinese recovery and can't load more than a K-Touch logo. I can boot to recovery using instruction from the first post, but neither back-up, nor ROM to restore.
So, I'm trying to install drivers and copy ROM on SD card, but no luck. All I could accomplished is a drive label, but drive is not accessible.
I'm stuck. Any ideas? Is it possible to open phone and remove SD card?

You can't remove sdcard because it doesn't exists. Phone only has internal memory.
Install a stock rom, any rom you want.
You must use NvMultiDown tool which it erase all phone's memory and set it to a factory state. After that you can start over.
Pay atention on point "D" to install a stock rom because if you don't do the exact steps, maybe you get stuck one more time, but don't worry, it's almost impossible to break the phone.
Anything you need, just ask.
i was using stock rom and now cm 13 still same prob whenever the power get to 40% the phone start flashing then go off.....
kernel panic upload mode...
Flash Boeffla Kernel. It is mostly stable for me and quite modifiable too. And oh yeah, forgot to tell you since we last met to update CM13. It has updates every single day at 6:00 PM on GMT+8. It includes the latest fixes to bugs and don't install too much apps on nightlies because at the optimizing part after the update, the phone might get inexplicably hot and burn alot of battery if you install too much. Sorry if I never noticed that you've already updated. I'm just saying because I never did

If the screen us flashing then your battery is dead. Change it cause it can't give the phone the required power level when it have low charge (eg. 40%). WARNING: change it really fast cause these battery dead power offs sometimes corrupt your efs partition and convert your phone to a nice mp3 player. And only buy Samsung genuine battery.
Thank me if I helped you.
