[Q] INET M707EBC doesn't boot - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, my friends inet m707ebc just doesn't boot. I downloaded a firmware and tried to install it through recovery mode, but the file didnt show up in the tablet, so i extracted the .rar file and got an ,img file and tried it again and i still didnt work. What should I do?

Yes your tab will never detect that file as you have mebtioned that it was a .rar file. You need .zip file. If the downloaded firmware is stock then you can only flash it through stock recovery. If it is custom one then you can only flash it through custom recovery

Ok, i made it into a zip file and tried to install but is says that there is no space left on the device even though i wiped data and cache...

Are you using cwm? If yes then wiping data will only erase installed apps. I will suggest you to format system but do this on your own risk

ODIN files are img files compressed with tar. 7 zip can do this, but I think you can find one here in dev section.

[Q] Flash CWM.img recovery

1-How can I flash a recovery .img file?
2-In Samsung devices, is there a fastboot mode?
My device is I9300
running JellyBean I9300XXDLJ1_I9300OJVDLJ1_I9300XXDLID
Kernel Perseus.alpha25
Device is rooted using cf-root 6.4
Already have CWM, but want to update
No fastboot and flash with Odin via your PC or mobile Odin (if you're already rooted)

I can flash it using Odin if it's a .tar file
I downloaded the latest recovery as .img file
Odin would not read it as I know
I used ''SGS3 International ToolKit v5.0'' to create flashable .tar file from the .img file.. but I got an error while flashing through Odin

I did that using 7-zip
compressed the .img file in .tar format, then flashed using Odin
thanks anyway
Does it really work with 7 zip ?

I tried using 7zip to create a tar out of my img file and tried to flash it via Odin, but Odin crashed every time I tried doing so. What where your steps? I'm trying to create a tar file from a cwm recovery.img

Just flash the.img with mobile Odin
Got it somewhat randomly
I tried it again with several tar files (7zip, SGS III Toolbox, Mskip's provided tar file) but this time odin did not crash, it just did not do anything. Tried Odin3 1.85 then Odin3 3.07 but it wouldn't work, then i found this other Odin called "Odin3 0.07 for SGS III" and tried again with the file created with Toolbox and it worked! I then noticed the only difference in Settings with this other Odin was, that F. time-reset was ticked. Could that be the reason it worked ?
Cheers
So there's still no way of installing a recovery with fastboot.. ? Just making sure.
And from where do I get Odin?
edit: Well I guess I have my answer:
[...]>>Even for flashing the custom recovery like Clockworkmod recovery or TWRP recovery you will need this tool. androidlegend.com/odin-multi-downloader
can anyone c/d?
Just Download Rashr from the PS and flash CWM recovery.img with it and enjoy

Soft bricked s3?

Hey,
I've got a rooted s3 (international).
Rebooted to cwm, factory reset + format system.
Went to flash new omega rom and realised it wasn't on the sdcard.
-Mount sdcard says e: error mounting /sdcard
-I can flash rom from internal memory (but it's not on there)
-I have an external sdcard with the rom on it, but it cannot be opened in cwm.
How can i fix this? Truly stuck.
Thanks

There isn't a single md5 file within the .rar.

you have to download a stock firmware from sammobile.com, its filetype is .tar.
And I'm pretty sure you mean zip, not rar. And no, zips can't be flashed via Odin.
Thanks mate.
Yeah, probably.
Im not on computer atm

It's a zip file so you have to flash it from recovery... A custom recovery like cwm or twrp or philz recovery
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Considering you have installed a custom recovery such as twrp or cwm. Just get into recovery mode and flash the zip file (as it is) after backing up your data and fully wiping the device. And don't forget to backup the EFI partition, that's very important.

or better yet - don't touch it before you read the guides, it looks like you have no clue what you're doing, you'll end up with a paperweight in no time. hit those FAQs

Completely agree. Read the guides and faqs. Don't flash anything until you understand everything

[Q] Status 7 ERROR, PA ROM i9300

Friends, now I had hit a simple issue. Downloaded PA ROM 4.45 from official site itself(for my I9300 itself). Tried to install it using CWM(v 6.0.3.2), but there comes 'status 7' error.
1. What should I do now?
2. Actually, does this PA ROM comes with GAPPS or should I download it again?
Thanks in advance.

Updating CWM, how should it be done. Is it through ROM manager or anything else?
Thanks for your reply.

Download from here and flash via recovery(if it's zip) or Odin if it's in .tar format.

You can either flash via odin/heimdall (.tar) or flash the .zip in recovery. You just need the latest version of the recovery of your liking in either form.
Thanks friends. I will try it
By the way when you mean flash through recovery means. How? By using app like Flasher? Is it .tar or .tar.md5 for Odin? And also what it actually does is overwriting the old recovery. Right?

1) Just boot into recovery and choose "install zip" (or similar depending on the recovery you use), choose the zip file and confirm
2) Both .tar and .tar.md5 are fine
3) Yes it does overwrite the old one
I hope when flashing through Odin, auto reboot and f.reset time is to be checked.
