[Q] SD Card Speed - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

In my Note 3, I have installed a 32GB class 10 SD Card. Currently it appears to read ahead at 128 KB, and my internal SD Card appears to read ahead at 256 KB. I downloaded SD Booster and changed them both to 2048 KB read ahead speed. However. if I delete the app or reboot the phone it resets to default settings. Is there a way to set on 2048 KB with out the app?

o2 xda, problem w. sandisk 256 mb sd card

hi folks,
i have a very big problem with my sandisk 256 mb sd-card. i just installed tomtom navigator 2 on my o2 xda. unfortunally i can not install the navigator maps to the memory card when using maps bigger then 16 mb. i try to install a 64 mb map to a no name 64 mb sd-card and it worked out. when i try to install the same map to the 256 mb san disk card the system ask me to format the card after soft resetting the xda. i need to soft reset my xda because it is not possible to access the files before resetting.
furthermore i tried formatting the 256 mb card using flash format, but the same problem occur after install the files to the card.
are you guys having an idea what is causing the troubleß
thanx for you help.
is that why it happensß

It's a well know problem on SanDisk 256 SD Cards.
I've a 512 MB Panasonic SD card and i had no problem to install TomTom maps
The card is juste a bit slow.

Hmm.
I´ve got also a SanDisk 256MB SD-Card. Until now i didn´t have any problems with it. Tomtom´s running fine, can use it in digital camera, ....

Stefan
until i tried to use that card for bigger files like the tomtom maps < 16 mb i had no problems also. furthermore it is no problem using the card in my digi cam. i checked everything over and over again to ensure i did no mistake. finally i searched different forums for getting some more information and found out some more folks having the same kind of trouble with sandisk 256mb cards. maybe the cards were just a little faulty but i have no clue how to fix the problem (or at least find out what is causing the trouble).
there is just one thing i saw when formatting both -the sandisk and the no name 64 mb card:
the filesystem on the 64 mb card is as follows:
fat 16, 512 bytes, cluster 1 kb
the filesystem on the 256 mb san disk:
fat16, 512 bytes, cluster 4 kb
i can change the san disks cluster to 8, 16 or higher but not to 1 kb.
could this be the reason - and if - is there a chance to fix it?
thanx for you help,
Duke

[Q]Memory partition sizing

Hi guys,
I'm currently using the TeamDRH build of ICS on my gTablet, and loving it. But during the installation process it asks some questions re size of various areas of the memory, to which I respond with the values used by everybody. But how about some different sizes??
The size of the system area is always set at 256 (MB?). But the internal SD card has lots more space so is there any particular reason this couldn't be set to 512, or even 1024 MB ??
And the card is partitioned to 2048 MB, which I presume is for User apps. But again, it's a large internal SD card (and I don't use the internal for any of *my* files), so is there any reason this couldn't be made say 4096 ?? Or more ??
Would appreciate some guidance here in the best way to configure my system.
Thanks,
RAC

The "/system" partition resides on a built-in 512MB NAND flash chip, so you can't increase its size all that much.

The default size of the "/data" is 2048MB and Android does use it even if you have moved all your apps to the /sdcard partition. And, you can increase or decrease the size of /data quite a bit if you want to.

[Q] SD Card Parititioning

So I went ahead and flashed the clemsys 1.7 with data2sd I have an 8 gig class 4 card that has fat32(512megs) and ext2(the rest) and this card works great. BUt when I do a 32 gig and load my zips on it TWRP wont even recognize it. Am I partitioning the ext2 the wrong size?

[Q] 32GB external SD card only shows 1GB available

I have searched high and low for an answer to this but cannot seem to find one. I have recently rooted my NT to use CM 10 and everything appears to be working fine save one exception. I have an external SanDisk 32 GB class 4 card that I am using and it only shows 1GB available when it is installed in my NT. Here are the things I have tried without any luck.
** reformat SD card using SDFormatter.
** double check the partitioning using mini tool and verified that there is only one partition 32GB, FAT 32.
** put the SD card in my laptops SD card reader and I see that all 32 GB are available.
** put the SD card back in my NT and uses AppMgrIII to move the app to external SD, then ejected the SD and saw that the app was no longer available so I know what my NT is calling the SD is in fact my external SD card.
The only thing I have not tried is a new SD. Any clues?
EDIT:
One note, when I go into Settings --> Storage I see two sections marked internal storage and one SD card section.
Internal Storage 1
Total Space 3.97GB
Internal Storage 2
Total Space 29.71 GB (This is my external SD card)
SD Card
Total Space 1.00GB

The 1 GB you see listed is actually internal emmc. Your 32 GB sd is actually 29.71 GB formatted. Your internal user media is 3.97 GB.
This is how internal memory is allocated-
1 GB RAM+1 GB emmc+4GB media+2GB (split between OS and /data)=8GB model.
1 GB RAM+1 GB emmc+4GB media+10GB (split between OS and /data)=16GB model
You did not mention if you have the 8 or 16 GB model. Either way there is nothing wrong with your memory allocation.
I have the 16 GB model. When I try to move apps to SD does it shows it moving to the 1GB sd card which you said was the internal emmc. I will play around some more to see if I can get some more evidence. Thank you for answering!

Are you running an app that mounts/swaps emmc as SD?
No
If you're using paranoid android it swaps the internal storage and SD card. Nothing to be worried about, but if you want it swapped use the succulant build.
did you figure this out? My nook color running 4.0.2 does the same thing (shows 2 external sd cards), and installs all the "sd apps" to the smaller sdcard1 partition instead of my actual external sdcard2. How do I tell it to treat my actual sd as the external sd so I can put all my apps on it?
many thanks

It is "figured out" for OP in the replies. To switch on your build, try asking in the Color forum section. There may be a zip to flash or maybe a change to be made in the build prop. But you need to check it for your device and ROM.
oops sorry, I had so many tabs open researching this I didn't realize this wasn't the NC forum. I have asked in there on a few threads, hopefully something will turn up.
thanks!

Transferring a game to the SD card yet its 0 bytes.

So, I just got this local ass tablet that is included in our plan and I actually put an SD card because its only 1 GB of storage which bull****. Then I transferred 1 game which is only 89 MB btw to the SD card and somehow after I take a look... ITS ONLY 0 bytes. Didn't even transferred the game itself. And for Facebook, I transfer Facebook as well on the SD card and only 36 KB out of 211 MB has been transferred to the SD card. I just really need help.
Apps don't work like that and many have blocks from being installed to sdcards due to them not working properly. This comes from the way the oem has the sdcard set to mount in the boot process.
