Hey guys, I have a hardware issue but first the background story
So my phone fell on concrete and the screen broke. I bought a digitizer and replaced it myself. After a month or so, I broke it again. I replaced it, but the unit I got was faulty, and I only got the replacement today.
I opened the phone again and replaced the digitizer, and it's working great!
however in the process I must have done something wrong since my audio/sound doesn't work anymore.
1)Loud speaker works just fine and the microphone works since I am able to talk to people and they hear me
2) When I plug in my earset, the sound works just fine on the earphone. The microphone switches over the earset's microphone and I can hear/talk just fine.
The only problem that I have is I can't hear anything if i put phone next to my ear :/ I opened again looked around, but didn't find anything obvious that might explain wha went wrong. Would anyone know where to look/what to test?
Cheers
anyone any idea please? D:
I haven't opened up my Mozart just yet but from my experience with HTC phones I would suggest checking the contacts of the speaker. They tend to have little springs on the speaker that come in contact with the mainboard and this is how the signal is transmitted. If these contacts are damaged then you will not hear anything.
With all the drops you may have damaged the speaker itself but I'm not sure of a way you could test that.
The problem i had was that I used my sony ericsson X8 headset and the sound came out funny, the thing that was cuasing it was the microphone. Try stock headset to see if it works. If it doesnt then you might want to get someone to check it or fix it. Up to you.
I Upgrade my Z2 with 5.1.1 last week, all is fine except some few bugs.
However, there is one major problem that haunt me for last few days. Problem description:
Phone: Z2
Configuration:
Android 5.1.1 (No root, offical rom)
TTY mode off
Equalizer:normal
microphone noise suppressionn
Speaker Voice enhancement: On
Slowtalk: off
When I called someone (Guy A), I can receive the sound from Guy A, but Guy A do not hear anything from me. At first I thought I mess up with my hardware or whatsoever, I run some diagnose from my Z2. Microphone is find and I can record my sound, Video capture also capture my voice as well. I also find Guy B to test multiple times, 3 out 10 times are success to call smoothly and my voice through Guy B phone.
I also try to set some different setting through my phone setting like I mention above, no luck to increase stability on phone call. However, there is one anomaly to need mention is when I switch on my phone speaker(audio output), my voice can get through Guy B.
Therefore I might rule out is hardware defect, might relate to software since i never had these kind of problem before.
Anyone experience these problem before? Anyone have any recommend to solve this problem? Many thanks in advance.
When you're using loudspeaker through phone then the phone may be using the other (video) microphone.
Check out if you have stereo sound if you record some video and then play it back.

How to differentiate stereo sound with i capture?
BTW, today seems to be more stabil, but i do not know this stability can sustain how long, may be carrier problem?
Top microphone is left audio channel, and bottom microphone is right. When you play it back on stereo loudspeakers or headphones then you will hear if the right audio channel is working fine, which would mean that microphone is functional.

Thx Mr.loverlover, just a quick update for my situation.
Today phone call are more stable than 2 days ago. None of the call seems have the issues for at least today. May be carrier problem, I test for few more days to make sure and hopefully is carrier problem.
I just realized that the right speaker is not working.
I don't know whether this is a hardware or a software issue, as I mostly use earphones before the update.
Does anyone have the same problem?
did you try a clean install?
Hello!
So after I fixed my phones screen I've been having this strange beeping in video recordings and no sound in calls.
I've tried replacing the microphone board but that did nothing.
This has never happened to me before and I've fixed around 15 phone screens.+
What should I do? (I am willing to buy another part if needed)
I ma facing issues with my microphone, call recipient complaint of not hearing my voice while I can hear their voice in earpiece while talking on speaker there is no issue. I have replaced the board that comes with charging port (picture attached) but the issue is still there.
Can anyone guide about the resolution.
Device I am using is Mate 10 (ALP-L29C636)
