Hello,
I have issue with mine Lenovo P780.
When i connect it on charger i get red led notification but i don't see phone is charging.
Phone is ROW with 4GB memory. I rooted and changed size of internal <-> SD Memory (I made SD memory small and Internal large). ROM is stock 123.
It is not "won't charge unless is powered off" problem
Thank you in advance

Hi all,
Does a 32gb card drain more power than say an 8gb or even less than a 4gb maybe? I've got 32 on board and my battery lasts about 6/7 hours with minimal usage. When I goto bed it's on 100% but I wake up 7 hours later I've lost anywhere between 10-15%...this is with no data connections; no running apps (all closed via taskmgr); nothing 'on' at all. I can lose upto 10% by just sending and receiving a couple of sms, an hour!
Having read through other xda threads on battery drainage I wonder if I've installed some 'background running apps' onto SD card instead of onto phone, thus making the phone want to 'read' the card all the time and use more battery? So I'm thinking that I need to be more selective and put some on the phone instead right? I also had 17gb of music, movies etc etc so could WMP or the sense version be trying to (idk?) update their library maybe and it's reading the card that way???
Rather than try and remove the offending app(s)....I've let the battery run down to 15%; hard reset (re-sync'd all wifi/email etc on reboot); formatted card (twice via PC); sync'd with PC for contacts and calendar only; and now have phone switched off whilst charging from wall (and not PC as I normally do). I'm gonna wait for full charge before I start over from scratch.
So should I have bought 4*8Gb or even 8*4Gb cards instead? Maybe there is an reg tweak/app for manually turning on/off access to card? Is there a general rule for which apps go onto card and which onto phone? Any advice/links/general comments/tips etc would be appreciated.
TIA,
Pete
PS - I've only had my phone for 4 weeks so be gentle with me with your replies yeah
When I plug in my USB cable, it brings up the window to choose a connection type, Charge Only or Disk Drive, Charge only is selected as default, but it will not allow me to select Disk Drive and after a few seconds, the screen closes and the status bar show "charge only" ALSO the phone locks up, it won't let me do anything, except put it in sleep mode. It won't allow me to unlock it or anything. It still receives messages and notifications, but I can't do anything. I have to unplug the USB cable to be able to use the phone
Only have it rooted, no rom's installed yet.
Any assist would be greatly appreciated
You say it's rooted. If you flashed recovery, go into recovery mode and scroll down to USB Storage Toggle.
At least you can mount it from there temporarily.

Maybe it could possibly be an issue with your SD card, and it won't mount properly? As the other poster said, have you tried mounting as USB storage from within recovery? That's usually a sure fire way to get the sd card mounted. If that also fails, then try taking your card out of the phone and put it in your computer (need a card adapter), and check it for errors. I would probably also format the card to FAT32 and then try again. I've had sd card issues in the past, and formatting the card always seems to get rid of the issues.
Problem Solved. MUST READ!
Well when I got home, I plugged in my phone to my laptop with a retractable usb cable and it mounted fine.
So I grabbed the cable that came with the Phone in the box and it again didn't allow me to select Disk Drive.
So I am taking from this that the cable that was sent with the Evo can only be used to charge the phone. Strange....
Yesterday when I was playing Pool Rebel online, it crashed once in the first. After a restart, it looks fine and was working properly except a little bit overheat.
Then the phone prompt a low battery warning, so I plugged the charge into it and keep playing, after a few minutes, seems like the charging speed is lower than the power consumption and the phone automatically shutdown. After a few seconds, I switched it on again, and the problem happened.
The phone looks like just been fully wiped and updated the rom, so I tried to install the titanium backup but failed, said there is no enough memory on the phone. I went to the application management and found there is no memory usage gauge on the internal memory tab.
Please help~
Phone: UK Galaxy SII (black 16g)
Rom: MIUI developer version 12.23
Hi,
I have got my Galaxy S2 Hard Bricked but I DO NOT MAKE ANY WIPE :crying:
My S2 have:
- SiyahKernel S2-v4.1beta6
- Dual Boot activated
- Rom 1: Stock XWLPG with Android 4.0.3 with JKay framework and some gestures defined (script loaded afterboot with script manager) (daily)
- Rom 2: ParanoidAndroid JB 1.97 with Android 4.1.1 (only for test, only loaded 3-4 times)
How hard brick happened:
- Rom 1 loaded, low of battery (last time I see it was 18%)
- One hour later (aprox) I try to make a call with my S2 and see that is off and do not respond.
- I suppose that it is battery out.
- I try to charge it with a portable usb battery (as many times I do it).
- Some minutes later it does not appear the battery charging icon.
- Try to turn on the phone, it does not respond.
- Left charging for some more time on my pocket.
- Tried again but do not turn on.
- Tried to remove the battery and put it again. No turn on.
- Realized that the phone is hot (near camera) and portable battery is hot too.
- Disconected from the battery and left it on my pocket.
- One or two hours later reach my car and tried to charge the phone with a cigarette lighter USB charger.
- No turn on and no battery charging icon.
- Reach home and tried to charge with original wall charger.
- Tried to remove battery several times.
- Tried to enter dowload mode with USB jig (removing battery too)
- Sad and angry because of I think my phone is dead :crying:
Today I will take my S2 to service support, I suppose that they will repair my phone under warranty.
Now my ask for HELP:
- Please, could anyone tell me if it is possible to save, keep or copy my phone's Internal SD memmory data?
There are some important data that I do not want to loose and I'm afraid that if they replace the motherboard to repair the phone then internal SD memmory is replaced too because it's integrated in the motherboard.
- Could anyone confirm if the internal SD memmory is integrated in the motherboard?
- Could anyone confirm if there is any way to backup the internal SD data somehow?
Thanks in advance and best regards
You must say "goodbye" to your data on internal SD. eMMC chip is the part of the motherboard. Sorry.
Hi, I don't actually own this phone and am asking on behalf of one of my family members.
Recently they were using their phone and one of the apps on the SD card (they were using it at the time) started to run slow. They exited the app and found that the icons of all apps on the SD card reverted to the icon what shows when the SD card is removed. They then rebooted the phone and the first notification they got was that the SD card was unexpectedly removed, they then contacted me and I suggested that they connect it to their computer in an SD card reader, they said that the SD card isn't detected at all. I've looked at it myself and can confirm it isn't working (it doesn't even work in my phone).
Has anybody else experienced this problem with the phone and if so have you been able to fix it?
