Hey Folks - Can anyone help me locate the wallpaper file on my Vibrant that is part of the T-Mobile 'My Device' app on the Vibrant? Under the 'My Device' app, there is a Wallpapers folder, and at the bottom of that folder is a 'T-Mobile' Gallery folder with six wallpapers in it. Please note that the 'T-Mobile Gallery' that I'm looking for is different and separate from the standard Android Wallpaper Gallery.
I'm hoping to extract and transfer that file/folder over to a Nexus One, but I don't understand Android enough to locate the file on my Vibrant, and probably where to put it on the N1.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Why not just pull the app an place it on your n1?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Ok, good idea, and so I just tried that, but it didnt pull the wallpapers that are visible from the My Device app that show up on the Vibrant. Still just the same N1 wallpapers after copying it over to the N1. Funny thing is that on the Vibrant, these WPs are only visible when in the My Device app not from the WP selector...so wonder where they really are, since after copying over and replacing the My Device app from the Vibrant onto my N1, the WP folder doesnt show up in My Device App (or the regular WP selector)...
Any other ideas? Thanks.

Thanks so much! You're a lifesaver (as far as a wallpaper could save a life - lol). Returned my Vibrant last night (sadly) to T-Mo before locating these WPs, so thanks for extracting them for me.
I was able to load your file into the Gallery just fine, so I now have the WP that I was wanting, but wondering if I could just plop these into the stock WP folder? I cant seem to locate that on My Nexus One (froyo). Having them in the gallery is alright, but sure would be tidy if they could go into the WP folder.

The stock wallpapers reside in the Launcher.apk in the res/drawable directory. To add new wallpapers you will need to recompile, test-sign the resource and put it back on your phone.
A big pain in the rear end in my opinion.

Why can't they make it simple? ={
thanks, i was trying to figure this out too!
Thanks for confirming that they cant simply be plopped in a folder.
That kinda sucks. I would of thought I could put a bunch of images in a folder to keep my gallery from scanning it all of the time.
I'm looking for the other wallapers from the samsung vibrant other than these. does anyone have them? I like the one with the tree.
There is a hack going around that I have been playing around with that unfortunetly I have not been able to get working. It is an edit for the Build.Prop file in \system. (this does require a root and some sort of root explorer) (I've tried some of the other "hacked" APK's, but I can't deal with crappy video)
Take a quick look at this article on Reddit:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/ha5oh/root_how_to_edit_your_buildprop_to_make_netflix/
After looking at that for a while I started tooling around.
Changes I made :
ro.product.model=Nexus S (Replacing MB860)
ro.product.model.internal=Nexus S (Replacing MB860)
ro.product.manufacturer=samsung (Replacing motorola)
So basically, this is supposed to fool the device check by making the application think you are using an accepted device. Like I said I haven't been able to get it to work. If anyone can see any other changes to make, any input would be appreciated. Hopefully we can get this working and share it with the community, until Netflix decided to come to their senses.
I've attached the Official Netflix app if anyone needs it
Already a working app..
Someone already posted a APK that bypasses the check.. there are video issues with colors, but that is the Atrix screen not the App...
also i'm pretty sure root explorer is a paid app, so posting that here violates terms and conditions

How is it the screen? (not arguing, I just don't know)

It something to do with either hardware acceleration of how the app handles teh qHD screen. the Watch ESPN app does thes same thing.
also this method is not a good idea when compared to using the modified APK, because you are editing your actual system files through this way. and as said before this has been discussed and a different way found already on this forum.

The Atrix has a higher resolution screen than every other android phone currently available. An app, especially a graphically intensive video app, has to be designed to scale up to this resolution. Not to say it can't work, just doesn't yet.

Thanks downloading right now
I had success getting Netflix to work on Viewsonic G-Tablet running CM 7.0.3.
I used the instructions posted by natemckn at reddit. As a noob, I'm not able to post links to the XDA forum (yet), so you'll need to search for the instructions on reddit or google. The post is titled "[ROOT] How to edit your build.prop to make Netflix work on unsupported devices."
Specifically, I modified these two lines in build.prop:
ro.product.model=HTC Vision
ro.product.manufacturer=HTC
Also, I moved NetFlix to my external SD card.
Rebooted, everything works like a champ.

Hey guys, got a quick question. I am new to the HTC Rezound, but not to Android in general. I am coming over from the D2G, and was wondering if I can use either Ninjamorph, or an app like it, the same way I would use it on the D2G. My goal is to change apk icons, so I can basically create the exact look and feel I want. I have read around that you can do it on a computer, but computer usage is few and far between for me.
So basically what my end goal would be is to find an image, download it to my phone, use some sort of app, and be able to alter the properties of the .apk file I am working with, so that I can change the icon thats displayed in my app drawer. Not sure if that makes sense.
I have tried to look around, and I haven't found anything saying whether this will or will not work on the Rezound, so if this has been posted elsewhere, I apologize, please just link me over.
Thanks for your help in advance!

I am also wondering if Ninjamorph or Metamorph work with the Rezound. I too am coming from a Motorola device, DX. There was another post on here asking about changing notification bar icons and I posted the question at the end of that thread. Hopefully someone has an answer
I had a d2g as well before upgrading to resound. I believe you can use ninjamorph/metamorph. Atleast to decompile/recompile the .apk. I have changed some .pngs in systemui.apk but what I did was extract all with rootexplorer, make my changes, zip it back together then rename the .zip to .apk. it worked like a charm.

Ok probably a really dumb question, but I'm not finding an answer.
You say to PUSH the app to system/app folder. What do you mean by this? I'm on a cutom ROM (FastAmaze) and am using ES File Explorer with Superuser access. I can't copy & paste the .apk into that folder.
Do I need to use a different directory app? I'm also not seeing how to change the rights.
Thanks for the remedial help. HA
I use easy installer from the market. It installs the apk for you

Ok you have two choices.
You must be rooted.
Please do a nanandroid in-case apps dont work.
Option One:
Save Jelly Bean Apps on your phone.
Download from your phone or from your computer to phone.
>>> Rootexplorer <<<
Install on android device.
Open rootexplorer.
Accept root permission.
At the top click MOUNT R/W until it turns to MOUNT R/O.
Find were you saved the Jelly Beans apps on your sdcard by clicking the sdcard folder.
Long press the app and click copy.
Go back to the Parent Folder.
Click the system folder.
Click the app folder.
Now paste the app you copied from your sdcard.
Find the app that you copied and long press it.
Click Permissions.
Make sure the first the column marked READ has OWNER, GROUP, & OTHERS checked.
Make sure the column marked WRITE has ONLY OWNER checked.
Uncheck everything else.
Press okay.
REBOOT.
Option Two:
If you don't already have it. Install Android Sdk on your computer.
Make sure your correct drivers are installed.
Make sure debugging is on your phone.
Open a command prompt.
Direct your path to the sdk folder.
Ex: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\tools"
Push the apps to system\apps.
Ex: adb push Calender.apk system\app
Dude's got a girl owning 'em on the tech turf, lol. Props to her, don't forget that if you're gonna use ADB to push the files, unless you have a modded boot.img, you'll need to reboot into recovery, mount system partition in the partition menu, then use the adb command: adb remount. And also please put the files you wanna push into your sdk's adb folder, because if you leave it in the folder you downloaded it to and not place it in the sdk folder, you'll be pushing nada to your phone.

No one is smarter than the other, each individual has their own line of interest, this happens to be mine and most dudes, most girls aren't even remotely interested in electronics for anything but show and tell, that's why it's pretty rare to see a girl so way ahead of most guys on a tech forum that goes in depth. So nope, I ain't late my dude, I'm just amused at how much more interest she has in it than they do, lol.
Perfect...Worked like a charm...The RootExplorer was the issue. I don't mess with the SDK tools unless I REALLY have to.
And for those giving me grief about being owned by a girl? I don't care where the info & knowledge comes from. She's rockin it, that's all that matters.
Thanks again kemimarie!

Hello, recently I found out about the AMAZING app Timely. It is absolutely beautiful and works great. I really love the default sounds it comes with, and would like to know if I could get one of the alarms as my ringtone. So is there a way to get the music off this app?

Any chance you could re-post that zip file? The only other way to get the sound files appears to be extracting the apk and I'm not sure I know enough to do that successfully.
You can find timely apk file on your device (in /data/app folder), select it and choose to extract (apk is a package like a zip file). All sounds in ogg format are in res/raw folder

I'm pretty crushed that they've stopped supporting Timely, it really was the greatest Alarm Clock Android has ever seen.
Personally I can't find the .apk file on my phone, but I've found a few other places on the net where it can be downloaded and extracted.
There's even a SoundCloud playlist (I can't post links yet, sorry)
The trick for Dalia (My favorite as well) is that the actual file name is "la_gitar.ogg". I had to listen to them all to find which one it was.
Several others have different names in the app versus the actual file name.
Hope this info helps others.
Cheers!
But.....
Could you tell me where you found the file? I've searched, and still can't find it
Thank you for the help! It's very sad that Timely is no longer supported, best clock app on Android, have been using it for years! 5 plus easy! But at least now I can use the alarm sound I'm used to.
