Ofcourse it is, you have to go to your local Sony Mobile service center and order one, then they will rape your pocket for replacing it but who cares, u will be happy happy joy joy!!
Oh because I have the Black Xperia, still unopened and want it white, but Tmobile don't have it in white
so I can't just manually replace it question mark
and also how is it stuck on? Glue/ moulded?

enjoy!
u can find the bottom black or white on the german ebay for about 10 €
Hey guys,
I wrote this in the Q&A section and I think this could be interesting for some of you..
If your bottom cover is broken or makes some stupid noises you can simply replace it.. You can buy replacement covers at ebay and also other sites, for example:
http://sparepart.dk/en/sony-sony-ericsson-1629/sony-xperia-s-100338/spare-parts-100339/
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-Bu...T26i-SO-02D-/170872807890?var=#ht_4332wt_1163
http://www.handyersatzteilshop.de/a...+Cover+black+Sony+XPERIA+S+LT26i_3409642.html (german site)
To replace the bottom cover you have to follow these steps:
1. Pull the bottom cover a bit so that there is a little gap between the transparent strip and the cover.
2. Unlock the clips with your fingernails or a guiter pick.. Try to keep pulling the cover while you do this
3. Go all the way around until all the clips are unlocked.. Start at front left or right side
4. The replacement cover can be simply attached by pushing it over the naked end of the phone
See my attached pictures below
Good luck
MisterG
ps: for best results use a light guitar pick (mine was 0.60mm)
Really needed this guide. Pretty much made my bottom cap ugly when it fell and now there's a nasty bump on the edge. This should help. Though do you think the prices for the bottom cap will come down significantly? If it won't, I will be highly inclined to buy it now though it seems a bit on the costly side.
I don't know.. You're right - it's just a small piece of plastic but there's a xperia logo on it so it costs what it costs Maybe there are some non original covers but I haven't seen any yet..

Would be nice if more colours was available.
Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
I want to replace mine, but the reason isn't so bad so I can hold off until more parts become available...
How hard to you have to pull the cap to make a gap? Quite a lot of force? because that is the part that scares me the most, haha pulling apart by baby :fingers-crossed:
Don't pull too hard The cover doesn't move very much anyway.. You only have to get a small gap to put something into, like a guitar pick (or any other flexible piece of something) Without pulling I wasn't able to get my pick placed, so if you do: well done

Pull your cover off, grab a spray can in your favorite color and spray it Just joking - don't blame me if something goes wrong^^ Seriously: I don't think that there will be other colors than black and white in the future
Thanks Much needed guide for because of my clumsy girlfriend.
Thanks for the guide!
Just to be precise, there are only 2 clips on the front. The middle one looks like a guide, it's definitely not a clip
Cheers
I just received my cover from spareparts.
I had to wait 2 weeks because they didn't have stock but once they did, it took about 3 days to arrive to Canada where I live.
The cover feels and looks the same so that's a relief.
I dropped my phone and it cracked so I had to get a new one.
Cheers!
Hi does anyone know where to get a replacement part for the upper side (which involves both sides of the phone as well) I accidentally dropped it and know one corner is seriously damage PLEASE HELP!!!

You will get full housings on eBay but I guess you better take that to the service center as the display is fixed with the upper panel so repairing it by yourself could see you playing with fire with a delicate device. Sounds nasty though
What happens is that theres no Sony official center in my country so I don't know what to do is real ugly really? I think there's just really tight cause I saw a video where they show the battery and so

I could remove the cover using my nails (and they are not very long...) - no need for a guitar pick...
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
Yeah, I already mentioned that it's possible to use your fingernails.. Advantage of a guiter pick is that it can be left sticked in while turning the phone freely if you have to alter your hand's position

Okay, maybe you're right but also a guide acts like a clip while other clips are clipped

Check the links in my first post... There is also this website http://sparepart.dk/en/sony-sony-ericsson-1629/sony-xperia-s-100338/spare-parts-100339/ where you can get nearly everything..
By the way.. Maybe we can attach new colored bottom covers soon when the xperia sl is released.. This model is meant to be a refresh of our XS with some slightly changed hardware specs but the size should be equal.. So next time purple/blue or pink bottom cover?^^
Source: http://www.xperiablog.net/2012/07/13/is-this-the-sony-xperia-sl-xperia-s-refresh/
ps: don't take this too serious the images were reported to be fake
can i remove the cover and put it back again?
mine just make some noise...
Nice one, just put an order in for a replacement, gonna spray it a custom colour
Thank you for this guide. I dropped my phone and the only scratch was on the bottom right corner - it was driving me crazy. I got the part quickly from sparepart.dk even though I'm in California and they ship from Denmark. Phone looks like the day I got it.
Nice to hear that I could help you

If I'm not wrong the bottom is plastic instead of aluminium, while the side is aluminium.
If you change it you will lost waterproof.
There is only adhesive tape to hold the bottom bezel, no screws. So i thought to heat the adhesive a litle bit and replace it but im not sure if its even possible.

Not so sure,if the factory screen protector is scratched, they will replace, but not sure about the bottom plastic plate.
It is fine if it does not effect the phone and waterproof, mine also got scratch at top but I just leave it there, maybe you can use a case.
They do not replace parts if there is only cosmetic damage. But you can always try to open a ticket and send your device off to repair ..you might be lucky

Hey, I didn't dissasemble it, just protected the screen, heart rate sensor and charge connector with adhesive tape. You think a "how to" video could be great ?

I've used some nail file, it's not perfect, but not bad either. Now to find some good plastic paint...perhaps some bronze nuance, I'm not so fond of golden...
