[Q] No mobile or mobile data - Ornate TrueSmart

Finally, after months of waiting I have received (a broken package) my Omate today. I have a hugh problem with the simcard I think. I have inserted a KPN (local carrier) card in the slot. I have booted my Phone, I had to put my pin for card in en clicked ok. But nothing after that is working from mobile signal or mobile data. The wifi is working. This my whole idea of the platform. I searched the forums, but didn't find anything. Anybody an idea? Else my (I have a windows Phone) watch is really disapointing...
Thanks

Did you check to make sure u have the correct carrier APN settings?

My sim card went in both ways :/ Make sure its contact side up

Since he had to enter his pin after rebooting, his sim is being detected and so is inserted correctly enough for that anyway. That leaves him with APN issues or radio/antenna incompatibility or incorrect assembly as possibilities to check into. Some TrueSmarts arrived to owners with the antennas either not connected or grounded against other metal components. Yes, you have to open the back to check that.

Thanks, Factory reset was the solution. The problem now have after two hours playing with it, put in the charger (with 10%), that is screen is black and doesn't come up anymore. I am really disapointing in this smartwatch. From the beginning I have problems with charging, when I charge I have to reboot and now the watch is dead..... great to spent money like this. Anybody else has this issue with the watch? I see a lot of people with blackscreens.
I have inserted even the second battery, but in for 2 hours (don't see any charging things) in the loader, but nothing happend....:crying::crying:

The charging circuitry and logic on the TrueSmarts is reportedly defective at the design level. Omate was having so much trouble with early 1.3 GHz TrueSmarts overheating during normal use at one point that they locked them down to 1 GHz to reduce the self-destruction and return rate.
Might not have been enough.
Meanwhile, there have been a number of reports of the charging cradles being or going bad. Even inside the watch there can be issues with the battery contacts not contacting, both for charging and for powering the watch. Some people have resorted to adding a paper shim between the battery and the back cover.

Network Reject - HELP please

Hello Problem solvers
I am going to buy an HTC Amaze , but there seems to be a little problem with the network of the phone , below i have stated down the exact lines what the seller has told me. Please suggest should i buy this or not.
The seller says :
"I bought it from someone and everything was unused. I put my sim card in and it worked for a few hours then it was unable to read my sim card. My sim still works on my other smartphone, but I do not have the time to find out what is wrong with the phone. I've tried other sim cards from other phones and also did NOT work. Seems like it won't connect to the network no matter what. Maybe the phone is locked or is not able to be used for whatever reason. Everything on the phone works perfectly as new. WIFI, apps, camera camcorder, games, etc. Everything.. Just doesn't seem like it will get any signal from the service provider. Possibly someone will know what to do and can fix or modify it. Can use it like it is or take it for parts, I don't know. Comes with all original equipment: USB cable/charger, manuals, and will have 8GB micro SD card. AGAIN, THE PHONE IS NOT CONNECTING TO THE NETWORK (SERVICE PROVIDER) AT ALL."

He later adds on to his saying :
UPDATE: Actually, the phone recognizes when a sim card is in, but will not connect to the network to make a call or connect for data. I am almost sure nothing is wrong with the phone and possibly could be a problem with the network or service provider.

Has anyone experienced this before? Please let me know what should i do, The price in which he is giving it to me is very good. If there are any solutions for this problem , please mention.
Thank you forum!
Regards,
Hmmm....the phone is like a month old. It is still under warranty. Why isn't the seller getting it fixed rather than take a loss? I'd be very suspicious. It could have been reported stolen and locked down. My spidey sense is tingling.
My replacement did this, I went into network settings and chose network, search automatically and wala problem solved. But still don't hand over the green until your sure.

Could the IMEI be blacklisted?
You have to call Tmo and have them register your sim. I had same prob when I first got amaze.
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using XDA App
it might also be the sim card ... i know when i bought the amaze from the tmo store they said it will not take the sim from my old phone and that it only works with the sim card that came with the phone...

Network registration error

Anyone else had a problem with losing the ability to call and text? I had no problems until last night now it says I'm not registered on a network I have tried reconnecting but says it's unable to. Also had a sim swap with O2 and still no joy. I think I may have to send the phone back for replacement. Odd thing though I still have full data capability.

I have this exact same error, on the same network. Got my S3 last week, locked to Orange. Paid £18 to have it unlocked and didn't work at all. At first I couldn't even get the phone to recognize the SIM so I replaced the SIM/Micro SD tray. Now it picks up SIM cards but just doesn't register them to any network. Would be good if there is an easy fix to this, although it seems like an antenna problem which would be very difficult and expensive to fix since the antenna for calls lies on the main board. Most other parts can be replaced relatively cheaply and with ease.

[Q] Possible water damage - any help much appreciated

I got caught in the rain two days ago and my phone got quite wet. However it seemed to be working fine so I thought nothing of it. About 8 hours afterwards, the phone stopped picking up a mobile network signal.
I restarted the phone, and still no signal - from looking in the mobile network settings, the phone is acting as if it doesn't have a SIM card inserted. No APNs show up, choosing to select a mobile operator results in an error etc - removing the SIM card seems to have no affect on this. Absolutely everything else is working completely fine - the phone just doesn't seem to be picking up my SIM card.
Suspecting water damage, I have since put it to dry with some rice. Having tested it again after ~36 hours, the situation doesn't seem to have changed. Any suggestions on what else I should try? Do I have any chance of getting a repair under warrantee?
U have checked data toggle

Yup - it's not just data, I can't connect to a network at all (no voice). Airplane mode is off.

Than service center only .If Service Center found that is because of water than you need to pay...If you're lucky they didn't find it than free...Mostly they will find it
Try another Sim card in it, it might just be the Sim, at least you will know if its the phone or Sim then

[Q] Not Registered on Network - How to fix?

Does anybody know how to fix this "error" message or why it shows up? I can't use the phone... as a phone!
I have the same issue. Even when I insert sim It says "no sim". I checked the phone lock status. But It's all unlocked. Please guys help us...........
Yesterday i had this problem too but today morning when i restarted my phone I got my phone registered to network seems like a carrier related issue. Try formatting your phone. And i also noticed that when the sim card was not placed correctly it showed me No sim card( i cut my sim using a scissor). So try placing your sim perfectly or try formatting your phone.

Hole volume up + middle key and switch on your phone. Your phone will get you into recovery mode from that menu using the volume rocker keys select format option and your phone will be hard reseted.

I had similar problems when my phone was delivered on Tuesday - cut my (Orange) SIM down to size, it worked for a while, then no network. Took it to an Orange shop, they tried their microSIMs, none worked. Arranged to have the phone replaced, but had another last play, and then my cut SIM in it started working - it would lose service intermittently, but eventually it was, and is, stable.
Mine has intermittent reception issues, ie dropping to emergency only every so often. My phone was sim-free so I figured it was because it lacks vodafone's customization.
I also cut my sim, maybe its an issue of it moving about slightly causing interrupts.

Guys i had the same problem, theres a solution in my thread that i didnt try cause i managed to get the faulty phone replaced but u's should try it and see if it works
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27723063#post27723063
It seems that nobody knows exactly what is the fault, the part with the sim cut wrong ( it cannot be )... I have tried 2 different micro sim (factory cut) and still no difference... now I'm using my homemade the micro sim in my Galaxy S2 (without any adapters) and works perfect ( even moved around )... The Galaxy S3 is still not working! After checking with one of the guys from Phones4U, he told me that it can be a fault (hardware or software)... the best way to fix it... is replace the phone! I did not try any of the fixes from here ( so I will not make any changes to the phone - needed for the replacement - warranty )... if anyone has a good fix for this, just post it here for other people who are facing the same problem, thank you!
Your symptoms and what you've tried sounds so similar to what I had on Tuesday, also on Orange.
The guy in the Orange shop suggested to me that you'd see the same symptoms if the IMEI is reported as being lost/stolen - obviously my phone was brand new out of a sealed box, from Amazon, so this was unlikely, but it's an interesting thought if yours was second hand?
Have you managed to connect the phone via Wifi, and perform an update? This is what I did, on the off-chance it might help, as there was an update waiting. My phone did then intermittently connect to the mobile network, and gradually got more stable. It's fine now. Worth a try if you haven't already?
If your SIM card is not recognized, try this

Well, I got this problem too. And I found out that you have to push the card with a sharp object to the far left (when holding the phone with the SIM slot downwards, I shot it from the the opposite angle because of the light) inside the SIM slot for the phone to recognize your own made micro SIM. I used the SIM pin from a iPhone 4S, but I also tried with a needle and scissors, and they all worked fine.
As you can see in the picture, theres a "pin" sticking out the right (when holding the phone as described above the pin will be on the left side) Make sure that the pin "sticks out" as showed in the photo. It seems that if that pin isn't sticking out, the phone will not recognize that a SIM is inserted. I was trying for over an hour, and then I tried this and it worked at the first try.
Good advice, mistwalker, I also wondered if it was anything to do with whether it 'clicks' into position in the slot. Mine works now, so I'm not touching it again!
It has happened twice for me that it says it's not registered on network, both times i've held the power button down and deactivated the network then activated it again and it's been working.

Thank you for the advice, I have tried all so far... even updating the phone, in the last 2 hours I got stuck changing the position of the sim... I tried also a different sim... and same message comes on the screen! I will send it back to the seller and get a refund for it... the "funny" part is that I have moved the "micro sim" from S2 to S3 a few times, and the S2 has never let me down... with no micro sim adapter on it!
I think Galaxy S2 is still one of the best phones on the market... it is not so fragile as S3... and this is my second S3... the first one had to be replaced because a small accident (screen cracked after a bump in the wall)... and the bump was a light one. I admit is faster (like a "rocket"), but the "new" screen - gorilla glass 2 is fragile (like an egg)
Does anyone know how to check if the phone (IMEI) is on the blacklist? Maybe this is the "fault" from my S3... :cyclops:

[Q] Is my phone's network connection dead? Phone dropped...

Hi guys,
First post so please bear with me...
The phone was dropped recently and screen smashed up badly.
Replaced screen and thought all was working fine until tried to make a call/send a message when I discovered that the phone had no network access...
Here's the diagnostic process I've been through...
Wifi works100%
Sim works in other phones
Other sims don't work in this phone.
Checked the antenna assembly to ensure contacts okay
Sim definitely reading - able to read sim contacts
Switched to airplane mode, reboot, turn back on - no luck
Searched for networks manually - no networks found at all. Another phone (samsung galaxy gio) finds all three (Optus, telstra, Vodafone)
No networks detected automatically either
No network detected using 2g only
So, if my wifi is working fine, that should rule out an antenna issue which to me indicates a hardware fault with the network side of things...
Is there a way to verify this is actually the case? And if so, is there a way to repair/solve it without doing a motherboard replacement???
Here was I thinking that it would be a cheap, easy repair... :/

If you want it free of cost so first try flashing new firmware via odin and then check it if not then give it to service centre !:good:
Make sure you're using a stock rom just in case it is a software problem, but it looks like a hardware problem to me. I recommend taking it back to the repair centre where you got your screen replaced.
I don't think it is possible without a motherboard replacement.

thanks
I think I'll do a total strip down again just to make doubly sure that i've got absolutely everything connected in the right place and then if it's still not resolved, I'll look at sourcing a motherboard through some chinese friends...
The phone was actually purchased when in china, and as a result I had to flash it with an Aussie rom to get the google back in android. It's all worked fine since then until dropped which makes me think it's hardware related. problem with buying it in China is that I can't seem to find a motherboard online for it galaxy ace 5830i (the 'i' is the problem... can find plenty of 5830 mobos but seems the consensus is using a 5830 mobo will brick the phone...)
Oh well, thanks for the advice guys.
Even i had the same problem, but i solved it by flashing a stock ROM. You can try that or flash a stok kernel
recently I also had this same problem, even installing the stock rom did not solve, so I researched in several places and saw what could be problem with the IMEI, I did the whole process of repair IMEI and my phone is back to normal , try this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1968360
Sent from my GT-S5830i
So...
I pulled it apart again to double check everything and noticed that the cell chip had come disconnected from the mobo upon impact and was only attached by three copper strips. After staring at it under a bright light for a while (no magnifying glass was to be found!), we stuck some super glue under it and tried to dry contact all the points... but it still didn't work.
However... after talking with a mate who's into circuit boards, he suggested that I try putting the mobo in the oven at 350 deg for 15 min to resolder all the joints as they use low-temp solder on these sort of boards.
I've got nothing to lose, so will be giving this a try when I get a chance and see if this brings it back!
I'll post back my results.
Yeah, and I recommend using a fine tip on your soldering iron just to be safe.
