I updated my Samsung Galaxy S Advance to jelly bean by Kies. And the phone became slower and laggy.
So, I rooted the phone to do some tweaks that can speed it up.
My question is what tweaks can I do to speed up other that flashing a custom rom?

It didn't work for me but I flashed a custom kernel and installed Auto Killer Memory Optimiser and It speeded up the system.
By the way, thanks for trying to help

but you asked me for performance tweaks and this is the universal performance tweak
yes you can speedup your system by using overclocked kernel

does it have some kind of side effect when we clock the phone until 1.6 Ghz??
i've flashed this kernel...it is good that the game run smoother with it...
but then i feel like this is like too fast until the animation seems to be a bit weird...
didn't check yet for the battery drain...
i've used the sirkay kernel and it saved me a lot of battery time...

it depends. sometime your phone will start warm bcos your engine running beyond its normal speed. all machine have their own capabilities.
for me, normally will set speed between 1.2ghz to 1.4ghz. but i prefer 1.2ghz, dont wana force it to much
btw, its not my kernel. i added some script into ramdisk and compiled with other(s) kernel. thats all
unlocked bootloader is a must right?
Right.

Hey guys!! Try THIS mod by imbawind.. works great on ICS It helps you to clear your system cache, get more free ram for you and gravely boost your phone's performance:good:
Better than any 3rd party task killer The more you use it the better it gets.. Best used before Gaming:fingers-crossed:
Check the screenshots attached below to see how it works:laugh:
P.S All credits go to imbawind "Press Thanks" on his thread:laugh:

That's the question because all the roms based in CMX10 have CWM recovery. Anyway thank you very much Fera for your work, I'm gonna test it un your v23 right now :fingers-crossed:
Cm10? Hmm lets read the OP.... Yes! Feravolt wrote that it's should work on alle ROMS, so yes: it should work on CM10 too
Great that you'll look into this,Feravolt!
I'm on Cm10 right now, with your 1.7v kernel. We need xRecovery (like you wrote), but 1.7 has CWM.
We could do it manually (copy file an do some term commands)
Or can you provideus a cwm package?

Thanx Superman, but can you be more specific?
What ROM and kernel?
What are your settings (min/max, i/o)
More smooth than what? (clean ROM, Seeder, CrossBreeder, ?)
What is it that you find to be more smooth? (Apps starts faster, data in app loads afster, switching apps, screen response, etc.)
I really like to know the benefit you're experiencing.
Thank you,
UltimateGeppie.
PS:
My batery is empty [email protected]#$%.
No one here with a charger. I'll have to wait till I'm home from work.

Okay, thanks and sorry.
Im on SlimBeam v4, kernel Feralab v1.7nv , min 245 max 998, BFQ. Response work nice, but apps pop up slow. Apps switching is nice and smooth, but battery drain fast. Plus battery drain also related to the kernel and this mod.

Remove the existing seeder and flash this new methode, and check it using entropy check app (download it from market).
But, yeah you gonna lost V20's battery tweak, i guess.
Regards
EDIT :
Use below app to check random available entropy
(4096).

I already didn't experience any lag in FeraLab GB v23 Voltage but installed ALR anyway and i must say that i was quite surprised of what it brought. The rom is super smooth now and the performance absolutely amazing.
P.S.
Glad to be back on FeraLab!

Just uninstall the seeder apk (if you using seeder apk) or manual delete seeder in init.d (system/etc/init.d) folder and rngd binary in system/xbin if you are using rngd binary that was provided by Ferakernel V3.6 Stock GB.

Just to clarify, this zip doesn't work for locked bootloaders right? becase locked bootloaders restrict flashing kernel? Using FeraLab Marvel v22 upgrading to v23 soon

There are NO kernels that support 4.2.x Samsung ROMs. 4.2.2 from Samsung is only a leak. The Kernel sources from Samsung come out after the official release from Samsung, so you have some time to wait.

They all use a repacked stock kernel so from that perspective, not really.
Apps like greenify, autostarts and startup manager will be a good start though.
