Does anyone know if the HTC One max verizon version works with the straight talk LTE sims?

I'd say check and see what frequency they operate at then compare it with the max. As long as your sim card slot is unlocked it should I would think.

Very much doubt it,unless you get a verizon straight talk sim

I would like to do this with my Sprint Max....

I have a Sprint One Max that I sim unlocked and use a straight talk at&t sim , mms works with go sms , or evolve , just have to manually set APN settings I get a better signal than I did with my htc sensation with a straight talk t-mobile sim , no LTE but HSPA , I know the Max is compatible with at&t or t-mobile straight talk sims and pretty much covers all bands for just about everyone but I would still double check with the provider you want to use just to make sure

So LTE isn't an option? Are you using a 4.2.2 ROM, as I am...is it necessary for me to revert back to 4.3? Sorry for the 21 q's....

I stand corrected,3g,4g obviously but I dont think it has att or tmobile lte frequencies...if you want those straight talk offers a verizon sim now i think. Good luck

no,not yet at least, i think it has to do with straight talk and not the phone cause I'm sure it covers the bands and I have been on 4.3 and currently on 4.4 ( was on viper rom now on nusense) and have tried everything to get lte going but my hspa speeds are still pretty good though so no complaints here , but again I have a sprint Max with a straight talk at&t sim so not sure if it would be the same for yours or not but I would think so

Rezound GSM bands

Okay I been asking this for a while. I will be taking a trip to Mexico in July and I'm getting a prepaid sim there. I choosen which company to go with while I'm down there and I wanted to see if I'm able to get 3G with Movistar Mexico while I'm there. I will be running the Venasuar rom with the GSM patch. Here's a link of Movistars network stuff. Thanks for the help guys

You won't be able to get data... You need the 2100 MHz band that carrier has the 1900 MHz band

Actually, he will get Data, its just that its gonns be on EDGE instead of 3G/HSPDA

CDMA: Dual-band CDMA/EVDO Rev. A (800/1900 MHz)
LTE: 700 MHz (Band 13 only)
GSM: 850/1900/2100
And in this case, GSM means 2G/Edge, not HSPA... so no 3G.
Technically, the MSM8660 supports a much wider range of frequencies, but the Rezound does not have all the "tuning" or radios (software radios) needed to make them work properly. This isn't something that the Snapdragon unlock hacks can make work either, as far as any users here have tested since the frequencies are not disabled in the chipset, they just were never setup in the firmware to operate.
GSM ≠ 3G/HSPA/HSPA+

does the international s3 work with TMobile data?

Want to get the s3 but want to make sure it works with TMobile.
No, you will only get edge speeds, no 3g.

Sorry I pressed thanks instead of quote.
No, its nothing to do with the modem. If it was, people all over the world would be buying devices from other countries.
The fact is the international GSM version only works on the frequencies its designed to work on. This is a hardware limitation and no amount of software will resolve that.
International frequencies are different to USA frequencies and as such, devices not designed for the USA will not work to their full potential in the USA.
UK (international) uses 900 Mhz/1800Mhz GSM/3G where as USA T-mob uses 1900Mhz GSM and 2100Mhz 3G.
Because the International GSM quad band device is:
850/900/1800/1900 MHz...
The GSM and 2G function works on 1900 (T-mob) but has no way to use 2100 for 3G as its not physically possible
Edit:

yes i agree for international version.. but if you read closer i DONT have the international version but the att version.. and as far as i know all the usa versions are the same with just diff. modems.
The international version will work in areas where T-Mobile is refarming 1900mhz to 3G. However this is only happening in parts of the coasts. I'm using it in Ohio and getting EDGE only. That said, it isn't too bad.

Erm, it's being tested in some coastal areas, but the 3g/hspa+ over the 1900 band is slated to go live on the majority of the network by the end of the year.

No service HELP or clairfication PLEASE
I purchased a Tinji i9300. I have been working on this for over 3 weeks. I have no service with T-mobile. It recognizes my SIM card as T-mobile. In Engineer Mode, my bands are, EGSM900, DCS1800, PCS1900, GSM850, WCDMA-IMT-2000. I have tried numerous ROMs (stock and custom) and have rooted the phone. I have changed the IMEI. No service at all. Any thoughts? Band issue? T-mobile issue? Possible solution? **** out of luck? :crying:
Thank you!

[Q] Google Play Edition S4 on Verizon?

I was looking at the Google Play Edition S4 on the Play Store: [Can't link outside post yet but go to the Google Play Store]
According to the Specs it uses the same frequency ranges that Verizon uses:
Network
Unlocked GSM/UMTS/HSPA+/LTE
GSM/EDGE/GPRS (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
3G (850, 1900, 2100 MHz)
4G LTE (700, 850, AWS, 1900 MHz)
Would this thing work on Verizon with their sim card? Sorry in advance for sounding like a noob.
It lacks a cdma radio.

It will (presumably) work on Verizon when they do Voice over LTE... but until then, yes, it lacks a CDMA radio which means it probably won't be of use for VZW.
I knew it wouldn't work on non-CDMA networks but what about the LTE side of the house? Verizon uses 700 Mhz and 1700/2100 Mhz LTE bands for 4G. I could live without 3G for a phone that could connect to any carriers LTE freqs.

Might be fine for 4G data over LTE, but will probably be a paperweight as far as calls are concerned unless you want to go the VOIP route... not to mention you'd be SOL anywhere there's no 4G coverage. Basically there would be no fallback, you'd either have 4G data, or nothing.
I think AT&T and VZ use different ends of the 700mhz spectrum, so even if the phone somehow got authenticated onto the VZ network, the radio/antennae for AT&T's 700mhz may not work on VZ's.

[Q] sch i545 lte bands

I got a chance to purchase the vzw gs4 for $250 under a one year contract for very good plans
Wondering if the contract expires, will i be able to use other gsm carriers?
AFAIK, i545 should come unlocked and can be used on att hspa and tmo lte(band4), am i right?
Just wondering if i545 has lte band 17 for att, or has anybody tried putting an att sim to i545 yet?
Another question I know verizon is notorious for not pushing timely system updates, but how far are the custom roms from the 9505g rom?
Thanks for your input
i saw in the 9500 dev section somebody wasn't able to enable tmob lte for this model which seems wired
has anybody tried att sim card?
Why is the thread moved automatically to Q/A section though

A simple search would tell you that many of us have used non-VZ SIM cards. The phone is SIM-unlocked.
Here's the bands that the Verizon S4 has:
LTE 750 / 1700
WCDMA 850 / 1900 / 2100
CDMA 850 / 1900
GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
[from http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=4066 ]
T-Mobile uses 1700 for LTE, so there appears to be a match.
For AT&T, 700, 1700, 2300 for LTE. 1700 is the common band.

I don't the bands on phonescoop is correct
samsung listed i545 to have LTE band 4 which is 1700/2100
One other thread mentioned Tmobile LTE cannot achieved on this model, only hspa
Att use Band 4,17, not 2300 for LTE
I'm just wondering if anyone has tried to hack the radio as they did for i535

OK, so here's a reliable source - Samsung. http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones/SCH-I545ZWAVZW-specs
LTE: Bands 4/13 (Band 4 is 1700 MHz, band 13 is 700 MHz)
CDMA 1x/EVDO Rev.A: 800/1900MHz
HSPA+/UMTS: 850/900/1900/2100MHz
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900MHz
I don't understand the various 1700 MHz band allocations, so I can't say if Tmo's band 4 is compatible with VZ's band 4 radio.
"Hack the radio" meant enabling radios that were built in to the phone which VZ disabled. I don't think that's the case with the VZ S4.

as far as I know there aren't various 1700MHz allocations. In such case, every allocation must have their own band, like Band 2 and Band 25. Both of them are in the 1900MHz but with diferent allocations.
So any LTE Band 4 enable device should work in any LTE band 4 carrier.

Sprint to T-Mobile

So here is my situation. Getting a HTC One under Sprint. It uses a SIM card. I've been told it will work on T-Mobile. My question is can I just flash radios or will it be always stuck with just Edge?

It's actually CDMA/GSM and LTE. Sprint locks down the GSM portion against using a domestic SIM from AT&T and TMobile by default. They'll unlock it for international SIMs/use if you meet certain criteria etc.
It has the necessary radios to work on Tmobile and or AT&T, you just have to have it unlocked a certain way. Search here on XDA, it's been done though it's not the easiest process.

Every LTE device will have a sim slot.
LTE is based on GSM technology. Now with that said there is a GSM variant and a CDMA variant. The CDMA variant does not have the basic GSM chipset for GPRS/ EDGE technology. So putting your sim card in there MIGHT only get you LTE in a re farmed TMO area with 1900mhz. Bottom line is if you want the phone to work like it should you need to buy a T-Mobile one.. It has the 1700mhz aws band you need for all of T-Mobiles network.
