HI
i dont know is this the right place to post , hope someone can help me
I tried to install [ROM] [LB/UB] [4.4.2] [UPDATE :- 22.05.2014] Rooted,Deodexed,Zipaligned Stock 0.230 to Xperia z1.
i downloaded Rom ,SuperSU Fix ,Stripped Kernel and I tried to install the rom but got error (something like error 7)
i had installed CM Mod 11 and CWM-Based Recovery 6.0.4.8 but http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/development/rom-rooted-deodexed-zipaligned-stock-0-t2759467 recommended CWM-Based Recovery 6.0.4.6 so i downloaded it .
so i Wipe Data Factory Reset ,Wipe Cache / Dalvik Cache ,Format System / Data / Cache first like the guide says ,it was not possible to install rom so i I thought that problem is CWM-Based Recovery 6.0.4.8 and installed 6.0.4.6 and made restart for phone and now phone wont start , red light is plinking when i hold power button , i tried power button and volume buttons and it wont start , i think problem is that i formated System / Data / Cache , is it possible to recover System / Data / Cache or install them some how ?
pls help

Yes, the problem was definitely formatting system. Never recommended unless you know the rom works and / or you have a known working nandroid backup. Typically Status 7 errors are from the zip checking your build.prop to see if you're installing it on the right device. If you wiped the system, then there is no build.prop to check = issues. You can try and remove the asserts in the updater-script or just flash back to stock and redo it.

Hi everyone,
I've installed ICS domination theme on my SGS2 with litening rom 6.1 installed on it.
After the installation, i've got a boot loop with a strange pop up which is
" Select an action
----------------------------------------------
Select an application for the USB device."
So I've wiped user data from the CWM recovery and I tried to install back my insecure rom (litening rom) with odin and also the original one.
The phone reboot well but i still get the pop up and i can't do anything ...
Is there a way to format and start from scratch or a another solution to remove this pop up ?
PS: i don't mind losing all my data.
PS2: sorry for the picture's bad quality (i took from my webcam ...)

Thanks for the quick reply !
I said i don't mind (or care) about losing data.
I don't have the mount storage and any format system (otherwise i would have already tried it ) on CWM ... I only get :
-reboot system
-apply update from sdcard
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
My android system recovery is 3e version

I tried to install the new Gapps -> the same error.
After that i tried to flash the ROM again and install the right gapps -> the same error.
After that i tried to wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache and install gapps, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache -> the same error.
What can i do?
I don't want to wipe everything on my phone.

Managed to solve it!
First off make sure you have the newest version of ClockworkMod Recovery (6.0.4.4) :
The problem for me was using the wrong gapps i believe! It was ROM Manager who provided me with a bad version. I manually downloaded Gapps 4.4.0:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Gapps
There are also versions of 4.4.1 that should work aswell, I hav'nt tried though:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012857
Then i simply restarted my phone entering recovery mode (volume up, power, home) and reseted all phone data, reset dalvik etc. Then i first installed gapps from sdcard and then nightly from sdcard.
For those facing Setup Wizard has Stopped FC
I was facing this problem for a long time today. My device is a Galaxy Fit and I was playing with the latest cm11 kitkat update. However it does not work without a complete data wipe and after the data wipe and flashing the latest nightly it gave me the Setup Wizard Stopped FC.
All I did was -
1) Go to recovery mode
2) wipe data/factory reset (this option wipes data , cache and sd-ext)[using CWM 6.0.4.6]{use the Recovery version that allows you to install Kitkat if you faced this problem while flashing cm11 kitkat}
3)wipe cache
4) wipe system {from the mount unmount menu option}
5) wipe dalvik cache {from the advanced menu option}
6) flash the proper gapps file from the sd card
7) flash the proper rom from the sd card
[here I wanted to make sure if everything was working again so i rebooted and well the Setup Wizard DID NOT pop up]
8) rebooted into recovery and flashed the CWM 6.0.2.7 [which you will probably need for Mounts2Sd to work]
This is my first post ever.. Hope I helped. Ty:fingers-crossed:
I just wiped /system and it got fixed

In some rare occasions my phone also gets stuck at the booting logo, but holding power down and restart the phone solves my problem.
Did you preform a clean install?

And what does the op say?
"1.- Wipe data / factory reset (mandatory if you coming from STOCK OR 4.2.X version or another ROM)
2.- Install the Main ROM
3- install gapps
4.- When you're back on recovery go to Advanced
5.- Wipe Dalvik Cache
6.- Fix Permissions
7.- Wipe Cache Partition
8.- Reboot"
In stead of step 1 i would suggest:
Mounting /system, /data and /cache
Format /system, /data and /cache
Then proceed with step 2 etc...
Everything will be lost so make a back-up with titanium backup. (don't back-up/restore system apps)
Clean Install

okay.what you do is not enough . and as you mentioned , you need to reboot recovery(under advanced ) after you flash the compatible recovery .
I recommend ..
1) flash compatible recovery ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2546597 ) and reboot recovery
2)wipe data
3)wipe cache
4)wipe dalvik cache(in advanced )
5)go to mounts and storage and format system , data , cache
6) flash the rom and compatible gapps and leave the rom after flashing for like 10 minutes ( leave it in the recovery , untouched )
7) after you are back , reboot system and let the rom boot up .
8) after it boots up and you set it up ( like setting time , date , account ) leave the rom untouched again .. say for an overnight so that it gets the time to settle .. the next day .. start customizing and installing apps like you did .
P.S. : I would recommend not to flash a custom kernel as of yet as kernels are in beta stages as of now
All the best !
