[Q] Change firmware - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hey.. I change firmware from my Motorola XT910, but I do not understand how it has changed IMEI, I have no signal from the SIM card and I fail to change with an older version [failed flashing process. 1/19 flash cdt.bin ].

some help .. ? please..

Good Luck
Press power vol up and down at the same time. Use ap fast boot mode and then download rsd lite install it. Know this is the important part. For the rsd to flash without giving error you need to download the correct firmware depending on your model. You need to take in consideration that if your phone was in android 4.1.2 you need to install firmware with android 4.1.2 if you try to install 4.0.4 it will give an error. Hope I helped you any question message me.

So how do we get the sbf firmware of motorola xt885 if we recently updated to jellybean mistakenly. But want to flash jellybean firmware because of how we can go back to ics. Elboss help is there a way? A utility or jellybean sbf will help. Thanks

You cannot get all the info you need in one post, search through the thread and look to see if anyone else is having your issue.
Here is another thread that offer up some links that might help too.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154600
You will have to read a little bit. It would take a very long time for someone to compile a tutorial that would include all the variables that might be relative to this phone.

I can confirm that flashing the latest sbf from pudding will work on 2.3.4 OTA, using RSD lite. After flashing the sbf, you will get a 0x1000 cannot boot message, but don't worry, its not a real hard brick. When that message pops up, IMMEDIATELY go into fastboot and type "fastboot oem unlock" and you will not be bricked, and you will be unlocked. I performed this on my 2.3.4 OTA atrix yesterday, without any problems.
where u get latest Sbf file ? when i click start for flashing it gave error that flashing process failed
and also have u tired any custom rom ? and how was the experience
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182526
use that sbf file. it works on 2.3.4 OTA.
read through the thread - it will explain well what to expect, explain the soft brick issue and how to remedy it, and also what you need to have in advance for it to all work smoothly.
MY RSD give error. when i entered in RSd support rsdlite show it connected when i start sbf flashing it give error that flashing process failed.0x7027 phone cant retrieve any help with that ?.
try using this version of RSDLite. It worked for me with this one.

im previously on 5.3.1 is safe to use a downgraded version
yeah.
its just a different version of the pc software. downgrading is only a problem if you're downgrading phone software but this is ok.
not working
Same error? Did you check that the drivers installed correctly? Try a reboot on pc and use a different usb port

[HOW-TO] Revert back to stock with LOCKED bootloader

I saw a lot of questions from other people asking how to revert back to stock rom !!!2.3.4!!! with locked bootloader. I found a way but please USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
What I did.
1. Downloaded !!!2.3.4!!! ROM from Atrix Firmwares Superthread (Official Firmware Team of M3) thread. In my case it was the latest Retail UK.
2. Flash it using sbf_flash under linux or RSD LIte (windows)
3. Usually if you come from CM7 after flashing and booting you will get a boot loop.
4. Flash the unlocked bootloader again and install recovery using fastboot
5. WIPE/CLEAN DATA/CACHE and DALVIK
6. Flash again the ROM with sbf_flash or RSD Lite
Reboot and enjoy...
If you have broblems booting the device, remove the battery and then try again.
IF YOU BRICK YOUR DEVICE, DON'T BLAME ME. IT IS A DIRTY METHOD AND NOT WELL TESTED.
for me i do this first,
1. boot to recovery
format sd/sd-ext
Wipe Dalvik
wipe cache
factory reset/data
2. boot into fastboot
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase webtop
fastboot erase preinstall
fastboot reboot
3. Flashing 2.3.4 ROM
flash your desire version on ROM using RSD Lite

need help in reverting to orange UK gingerbread from flashed retail
Hi
I also need to go back to stock orange from UK retail need some help.
this is my problem:
1) I was on orange froyo
2) flashed using rsd lite and the sbf file given http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19428405&postcount=215
the problem:
1) Now the RSD lite is not able to recognise the my phone software/ IMEI. However, it shows as phone connected to USB. i'm getting the following result on the left top window in rsd lite
ITechnology: N / A
Software Version: N / A
Flex Version: N / A
Bootloader Version: fce9
DRM Version: N/A
MEI/ESN/MEID: N / A
2) The motorola update software is also not able to recognise my phone - it shows phone not connected.
I want to revert to Orange (since the gingerbread is released by orange in UK now). Please need some help
You can't relock the bootloader. All u can do is make it appear as if it's locked again by doing as described above. The stock .sbf will remove the "unlocked" logo.
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
yes, as i am doing, the bootloader is locked back as stock..
if you need to unlock it back use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136261 method..

Try this, it worked for me.
Turn your phone off first
Open up motorola software update program.
Connect your phone to the usb.
Turn your phone back on and the software update program will recognise your phone once it boots up fully.
The program will detect that you have the latest retail UK version and tell you that you have the latest update. The only way to get the Orange gingerbread back on your phone is to flash it via RSD Lite. The Orange gingerbread version can be found in the Super firmware thread. But why would you want to do that when you've successfully " debranded " your Atrix. I was in the same position as you, but i've left the UK retail version on mine

The only reason I want to go back to orange is because I feel that my phone is no longer as smooth as it used to be!! There is definitely a some lag and I think it may be due to retail version sbf used to update to gingerbread.

[Q] How to Change region from ME to EU

I have a Droid Razr Maxx and my System version is 673.94.324.XT910.MERetail.en.06 running Android 4.0.4 (ICS)
On checking for Updates, it says my phone is up to date.
Motorola site says this phone will remain on ICS and hence I want to change my region to EU where JB has been released for retail version.
If I want to flash my system to JellyBean retail version say Britan EU from this link, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231289
what is the correct sequence of flashes to be performed?
Should I first go to ICS of EU region then go from ICS to JB, or can I go directly to Jelly Bean.
I have never flashed my Motorola Razr Maxxx and am not rooted. Can anyone please give me pointers to where I should start?
Once I flash to a different region, would I receive OTA updates for that region ROMS?
Just flash it on top of your current Rom. No need to go to EU ICS first.
Updates for the RazR? I'll bet there won't be any Updates anymore.

Thanks for the reply.
However one more question: My phone is not rooted and when I go to AP Fastboot mode, I get the following message
Code:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S)
0A.74
eMMC Info: Size 16G
To return to normal mode - first press power key to power down
Device is LOCKED. Status Code:0
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
My Worry is the line stating that Device is LOCKED.
Should flashing using RSDLite work without any additional steps?
Of course it shows Device is locked > That's your Bootloader! It's always locked on the XT910 This has nothing to do with RSD.
same

kindly guide this method more because i am also have same s/w.
i have rooted razar maxx and using safestrape 3.11
i cannot use rsd before

I successfully flashed my ROM to JellyBean en.EU (UK Retail version) -> 982.124.14.XT910.Retail.en.EU from ICS 673.94.324.XT910.MERetail.en.06
The steps I followed were as follows:
1. Take backup of your SD Card as this flash erases everything from internal SD Card and make sure battery level is at least 80%.
2. Turn phone off and remove your Sim and external SD card (Just to be safe)
3. Go to boot menu (While in power down, press and hold both volume keys, then press power button)
4. Scroll to AP Fastboot mode using volume down key. Select the AP fastboot mode using volume Up key.
5. Start RSD Lite 6.0 in computer (Make sure you have motorola drivers installed)
6. Connect your phone to computer using USB cable (In AP Fastboot mode)
7. Select the downloaded AP Fastboot file (Retail British is what I used) from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231289
8. Click on Start
9. Sit back and relax for about 10 mins when flashing will be complete and your phone will reboot automatically.
More information of tools can be found out in this thread -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1539192
Remember: Once you flash JB, there is no way to go back to ICS. But I am loving Jelly Bean and Google Now. Phone feels smoother.
Hit Thanks if I helped you.

Yes, you will lose root by flashing. But there is a new linux based exploit for rooting again which i have not tried but seems to work for others -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2257137
If your current ROM version is Retail (i.e not locked to a specific carrier like vodafone), you should only install Retail version.

[Q] Can you guys set me on the right path?

I've never before Flashed a ROM on my device and I'd like to start experimenting and such, but since I have no idea what I'm going against here, you guys may help me out.
First of all I need to know "a way to recover". Where can I find a guide that shows me what to do to get the stock ROM once again running on my device.
Some info on my device:
System version - 982.124.14.XT910.Retail.en.EU
Model number - XT910
Android version - 4.1.2
Baseband version - U_04.10.00R
Webtop version - wt-3.0.0
Thank you for your time spent reading this. :good:

First of all, you must be on a Windows PC on which you have to install Motorola Device Manager (Contains the Motorola USB Device Drivers) from here
https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/88481
Then, you have to root your device in order to install custom 4.1 or 4.2 or 4.3 or 4.4 ROMs.
In order to root follow this tutorial
http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-razr/development/computer-xt912-root-exploit-t2855364
After that install Safestrap 3.75 custom recovery
http://droid.cs.fau.de/Safestrap/
following these instructions
http://blog.hash-of-codes.com/how-to-safestrap/
Now you are ready to flash/edit/do whatever you want on your device.
You can find more on Droid Razr Android Development XDA Thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-razr/development
Now, in case of emergency, if you can't return to your stock ROM, you have to know how to Fastboot your device.
First you have to download RSD Lite (Use >= 6.1.5)
http://rsdlite.com/rsd-lite-download/
Then follow this tutorial and fastboot return your device to official JB 4.1
1.Find the appropriate JB 4.1 Fastboot file for your device from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231289
or here
XT910 https://web.archive.org/web/20130817173904/http://sbf.droid-developers.org/umts_spyder/list.php
XT912 https://web.archive.org/web/20130817170949/http://sbf.droid-developers.org/cdma_spyder/list.php
(BEWARE you will brick your device if you use a wrong Fastboot file)
2.Rename it to something like 9.8.2O-124_SPUEM-14.xml.zip (short name without gaps, because RSD has a limit of name characters)
3.Install RSD Lite
4.Run RSD Lite
5.At Filename click the button and browse file XML Fastboot Image you downloaded
6.Turn off the device
7.Press and hold Volume[+] + Volume[-] + Power buttons at the same time until an option come up
8.Choose AP fastboot
9.Connect Razr to PC/laptop
10.Wait until it is recognized by RSD Lite and all its components are installed on Windows
11.Click Start
12.Wait until the process is done (do NOT turn off the PC or disconnect the USB, this will brick your device)
13.Done
14.Re-root you device (root gets lost during Fastboot)
Anyway, click Thanks if I helped you
Thanks for your time nbishdev. Once I got some free time to "toy" around with my phone I'll give your tutorial a shot and tell you how it went.

Keep in mind, that although his instructions are not ROM specific, some ROMs do have a slightly altered set of instructions. If you run into any issues, typically the ROM's thread will have some sort of solution, and usually most things are fixable.
Take some time to read through the ROM thread to find out what may not be working as well. MMS, WiFi, and Bluetooth are all common broken features, but they usually are fixed pretty quickly in newer ROMs.

First of all, you must be on a Windows PC. Then you can upgrade you device to the official JB 4.1 Motorola firmware. There is no official JB 4.2 from Motorola for our devices. BEWARE there is a chance of bricking your device if something goes wrong. Do it on your own risk.
First you have to download some stuff.
