It is probably due to limited space that the Flyer does not have a slot to insert the pen. They will probably give you a case with the device to hold the pen. However, this would make it a little too bulky to put the device inside a jacket pocket.
So I guess that it would not take long before you misplaced the pen.
If you lose it, you shouldn't own it
I'm sure there will be a case with the flyer which will have a slot for the pen, or the pen will at least have a clip on it.
I would lose it in a month because my kids would do something silly with like let it fall in the couch. My kids like to play with my Android devices and I love them so I can't deny them lol.

So I am correct in saying that the stylus is not going to slot into the Flyer like say the Touch Diamond? If not that is really big design flaw from HTC. The Diamond has (from what I have seen) the best way to store the stylus via magnets and into the body. Hope they are not expensive, can see myself losing it in and around the house and at work...
You would think they would make a case for it so you have a slot to hold the pen when your not using it

Don't know, unfortunately. The HTC guy just said something along the lines of
"like those cases over there"
...but they never actually went 'over there' during the interview
One of the official folio cases has an external pocket for the pen. Personally I would prefer an internal pen loop.

Got my flyer today. Inside the package I've found a white leather pouch case with magnetic flap on top and an external pocket(ring of leather) for pen housing.
Hi ,
After i cracked my digitizer i tried to avoid from paying 300$ for fixing it.
I ordered "OEM HTC Droid DNA LCD Screen and Digitizer Assembly with Front Housing" - all the parts are already in one unit and factory glued (Digitizer, LCD and Front Housing)
Making the job less complex - no need to glue anything
btw
I did the order from http://www.etradesupply.com - very fast shipping and great service .
now few tips :
1. very hard to open the back cover of the phone in the first time ( it's glued to the loud speaker - need to be patient ).
2. there are 3 antenna cables : 1 of the wireless , and 2 of the camera flash i think - be very gentle to them, they are very sensitive.
3. Remember to remove the "Ear Speaker" from your old phone - it's not part of the new screen ( I forgot it and needed to reopen my phone )
4. Have fun !
If you have questions, i will more then happy to answer :good:
btw #2
If someone want my old parts (Cracked digitizer - fully working, fully working LCD screen and my old front housing - PM me , will discuss on good price to both of as.
Thanks for the post. I just cracked my screen last week and looking at different ways to fix it.
Does anyone know if they have this same part in white for sale anywhere? I want a white screen on my DNA but all I have been able to find are ones that don't come with the earpiece.
Saw on ebay.. but it without the housing..only digitzer and lcd

I bought the lcd and digitizer separate. Then realized I didn't have the adhesive to glue it all back together. Wish I went the whole front panel way..
Same here, I ended up buying the whole housing pre-assembled. Even when I third to glue it the slightest pull on the ribbon cable and part of the screen is unresponsive.

Just replace my screen with the HTC butterfly screen. Looks much better without the Verizon branding imo

I've got a cracked screen and was thinking about doing this... Wanted to ask how much experience (if any) you had doing this kinda stuff and also how long it took you. Also did you see any adverse effects (such as loose back, volume rocker, etc) from doing this?

If you planning to buy the same part as i did, it's more easy.
Basic exp with tools suppose to be enough from my point of view.
Regarding the time, it's took me 2 hours - i had to open the phone again, cuz i forgot to place the ear speaker
For the adverse effects:
Back cover - not loose at all, it's connected with hhard plastic clips.
Volume rockers and power bottom - working as before.
One issue that i found, is the charging led, i forgot to takw it out from my old housing

Hi
I got a white screen with red soft keys advertised for the 920e from eBay. Images here,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44703091
I also agree the OP has a very misleading title for this post. It sounds like they are saying they separated their glass from the LCD and reused it. This is not the case. Not only did the OP replace the digitizer and the LCD but they also replaced the housing.
Great tips tho on removing parts.

Now I'm confused. I thought the digitizer was fused to the glass, but the LCD is a separate part. I see plenty of eBay listings for the glass+digitizer(with soft keys). You're saying if one were to buy that they'd have to glue it to the LCD? I'm skeptical that these 3rd party Chinese products actually use gorilla glass 2 and the same highly sensitive digitizer as HTC's, including the 5" 1080p LCD would make me even more nervous about quality.

The LCD is a separate part, but I heard about how it is difficult separating the LCD from the glass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=fTqPqh0fNkQ#t=559 at 9 :17 starts to show the front coming off. When I did mine, as my glass was broken, there was no really saving the LCD.
I cant tell the difference between my replacement, from a USA seller, than the original LCD.

No doubt, but Can Not. That eBay listing has errors. It says the x920e in the listing but it can not be. That listing is for a back cover with an SD card. The x920d and the HTL21 have SD cards and a larger cut out on the top of the back cover. The x920e and the DNA have no cut outs are are a couple mms shorter than the other two. Now this one you can use. http://www.ebay.com/itm/290940405280
Hi I just received this case and it is really nice. Provides a real leather feel, all ports are available, volume and power buttons are completely covered by still very easy to press, spen access is great. Overall very premium feel while keeping it thin. I paid 2.95 from Amazon.
If anyone's interested here is a link

This was the first case i received and used it prior to switching to the Spigen Neo Hybrid. I got the Mustard Yellow colored one and still think I may use it every now and then. It's a nice case, just didn't like leaving the top and bottom of the phone exposed. I got mine for $1.99, but think they went up shortly after I ordered.
That's the only thing, if the top and bottom were not exposed I'd buy this case.

I have a real physical job(cable guy) and theres plenty of times where I fumble my phone from the holster or need to take a quick pic or need quick access to the S pen,I felt like modding my defender holster with my dremil for easy access for the camera lense,S pen,and using it as a kick stand..( lol.I need to replace my bit)

Dude- Good idea- But not quite clean..Looks like you butchered the holster.
maybe next time take your time and more careful when cutting.

Yea my bit is dull, as you cut into plastic theres a small portion that bubbled up, so I switched to the sander bit to smoothen it out but when you sand plastic it changes from the original color..no biggie for me just a holster thays gonna be under my shirt or tool belt.

I have always done this since my first Defender on the iphone4. It just pops right out.
As for the mod in the OP it's a good idea but yes I'd recommend cutting only the area where the camera and pen are. You can practice with an 1/8" drill bit on a Dremel at mid speed. Go slow and don't use too fast a spindle speed or the plastic will melt. Even if it does ball up a bit it's easy to remove. Once you drill the initial hole closer to the middle of your target area you can cut your way to the outlined area with ease. When a more specialized cutting device isn't available, this works great. This is the principle that the Rotozip uses.
It appears the long edges are magnetic?
Edit: and the back where it says HTC.

Yes.
The edit: and yes
I found that out by setting two side by side, they sucked themselves together. Then I realized it's for the magnets in the covers to snap to.
