Hey guys,
I dropped by one of the electronics store randomly and found a Klipsch Image S4i.
It's basically the S4 with a built-in mic but its made specific for the iPhone. I really want it but I'm not sure whether the mic will work on the X10 or not cuz I've heard complaints about other earphones not working as well. Any of you guys ever tried it? The S4 is one of the best in-ears you could find at that price range so I think if it works fine on the X10, it's worth the money
Here's a link to the product page: http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/products/image-s4i-overview/
Oh, and I think the white S4 should match a white X10 perfectly, although I have a black one
hey i had s4i for my iphone 3gs and sold the 3gs and bought x10 so the ones with mic doesnt work with x10 no headphones with mic works with x10 i tried them all u name it. so i changed it with s4 wow amazing sound quality . i had many choices but i went for s4 and really happy with it and for the money u get best earphones and im sure ull be happy with it. and also check NuForce NE-7M i heard they r really good too but havnt tried them yet also MEElectronics M11P these 3 earbuds are amazing id still go for s4

I got a headset with my phone and the mic works on them.
The sound quality isn't too great, though. And no, I don't mean during a call, I'm talking about the clarity with music.

hmm, i guess I'll get the S4 instead. I emailed Klipsch about the problem with the S4i but they never got back to me. I was looking for a headset that has a mic to use along with the X10 but I guess none of them work...for now at least. It might be software fixable. Anyway, thanks for the replies, I appreciate them
@ bourbon brian . And what headphones are they?

I'm pretty sure the iphone doesn't use the sleeve of the TRRS plug for the ground like the x10 and most standard electronics. It uses the second ring so you have to buy their accessories.
This means that iphone cables and headsets won't work, but headsets that don't work with the iphone probably will.
Does this make sense? Search for TRRS plug for more info.

Since there's no Q&A forum for this phone (yet), I'll try in here.
I've noticed this morning, when listening to my music through my earphones, that the volume tends to subtly fluctuate - perhaps slightly reducing the volume on the louder parts of songs.
I don't like this (it's not even at max volume either) - is there a way to stop it? I've looked in the music player's settings and also the sound settings for the phone itself, but no luck.
This is my first Samsung Andrdoid so if I'm missing something common to these, feel free to hit me with the noob stick
You've got the SGS II already?
You are probably in the wrong forum, mate.
Nope, he is not.
Some lucky dawgs got it through P4U.
I got it yesterday afternoon from Phones4U, although I think I've sorted this problem out now. I think it was related to the bass enhancement setting, because I disabled that and it's not doing it anymore (or it's no longer noticeable).

Big question how do you find the sound quality what headphones are you using? Thanks
Swyped from my Desire HD using XDA App
I'm using Soundmagic PL30's and the sound is great, although I did notice a bit of crappines when I had the bass enhancement on and turned it right up. Now I have it on Auto/Rock EQ with no effects - perfect for my needs.
I've yet to test the phone's speaker.
I don't have the phone and only played with android briefly before, but in theory, what you are describing is known as "normalizing", where the device tries to make the songs sound as even as possible. This results in capped louder parts and sometimes increased quieter parts. Is there any option like this in the equalizer?
May I say... Congratulation and I HATE YOU... J.K...
Post up some more details of what you DISLIKE of it so far

Actually PL30 are slightly bass heavy themselves and at best average if sgs2 sound is even somewhat like sgs. If u really want something better without breaking bank get brainwavz M1 or nuforce ne6 if you prefer boomier bass. This phone does deserve more than PL30.
PL30 respond very badly to presets on SGS1 as well.
Magically posted from thin air!
Aw, I only bought these a couple of weeks ago!
I'll bear your recommendations in mind though, thanks.
Actually, the earphones that came with it look better (not the awful standard things you usually get). I probably won't open them though.
Edit: no normalization option, Deathangel. It sounds ok now anyway

Not a video but: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13255059&postcount=103
Audio quality is much better than stock SGS using Sony Ericsson HBH-DS980. Rocking to a few tunes before making up my mind on the quality.

Really? The Yamaha DAC that was included can actually best the Wolfson 8994? I've been torn between the SGSII and the Sensation for quite a while now. This tips the scales in the GSII's favor.
P.S.- How does it compare to an SGS with the Supercurio Voodoo mod?
It's very close mate. I haven't done a proper comparison between them but I get a full range from Bass, mid and treble using PowerAMP to listen to music with the SGS II. I'd say it maybe slightly better than the SGS with Voodoo if I had to chose.

I'm not Hemorrhoidsnet, I just found this video on a Dutch blogging site.
This seems the best thread to ask...
I'm looking for the best earbuds I can get for £30 or less (preferably less of course) for the highest quality listening. I'm hoping to use the SGSII in place of my iTouch since it can play FLAC natively!
Any help/suggestions is greatly appreciated!
Any suggestion for earphones under 1k?
I am a bass hunter so need the lows deep but that should not affect mids and lows majorly.
Any suggestions?
I got my Brainwavz M5 IEM Earphone this morning and am pretty happy with them.

Try these guys, I'm sure they can arrange shipping to India. I've bought my last 3 canalphones from them, fantastic service & no nonsense advice (they won't try & sell you something purely to sell you something). Have a look & find a few you like, then head on over to their forums & ask for some suggestions; give them your budget, what types of music you listen to/what kind of sound you like (bassy, neutral, etc) & what kind of headphones you want (canalphones, earbuds, etc, etc) & the staff there will give you some suggestions.
I highly recommend Koss Porta Pro. I just bought them yesterday (it costed about 34 €) and they are amazing. It has got good quality of sound and really amazing bass. You can order them from internet also.

Hi
I'd like to get a Z2, but I've heard that in most retail shops in my country the phones are sometimes branded, so I'd like to check that before buying. Is there an easy and fast method to do so?
Thanks in advance

%99 of the time if it comes from a network provide its branded
if it comes from a 3rd party provider or directly from Sony usually its unbranded
this varies depending on your country
The problem is, I've heard that some of the 3rd parties in Poland sell branded Play/Orange phones and some people get to know it, when they get an update from either of those. The weirdest thing is, that in Sony Centre they say that Z2 in my other local shop can be branded, when in that shop they say that their Z2's are not branded. I don't know what to think about it at all. The thing is, that in the other shop the phone is 100$ cheaper and I can check it before buying, so I could check if it's branded or not, only I have to know how. Is it somewhat connected with the service menu?

Sony said "can be branded" if the shop says it isn't branded and it is, you can legally sue them
and branded deviced are usualy cheaper because they are simlocked and/or non bootloader unlockable
From what I've read I can easily ckeck if the bootloader is locked or not (via the service menu).
And for the discussion, in Sony Center they said that the other shop (one of the biggest retailers in country btw) bought those phones from Orange. In Komputronik they said that guys in Sony who told me that are sick in their minds. And I don't know who to trust XD

i think your best bet is to buy directly from sony or a supported 3rd party supplier that isnt this one
:/ safety is often worth the extra money rather then taking a potential risk
It seems I have to. Anyway, sorry for the offtop but I have a question for you. Do you think that Z2 is a good phone to upgrade from my current iPhone 4S? And do you think it would work good and fast for 3 years like my iPhone? Or would you rather buy something else? (G3, M8, Nexus maybe?)

Yes, especially as the prices have fallen now due to the Z3 release. I guess you'll be happy with the Z2.
Thanks for al your answers! I think I'll get a Z2 from my local Sony Center, but if anyone knows a way how to check the branding, please post it below anyway. It may be useful for some poeple

Definatly!
alot of iphone users who love that minimalist ios look and feel often come to xperia for its UI and looks
however, go and play with the G3, and M8 and then come back to xperia
ive noticed some phones take some tinkering before the user can properly decide weather they like it or not
personaly for me id either have a iphone 5S (6 is terrible compared to 5, felt cheap :{ sme people like it i guess) or a xperia simply because i love both phones
I really like the looks of my 4S and iOS 7. I wanted something with bigger screen than in the 5S anyway, so that's why I waited till the keynote and the only things I can say about 6 and 6 plus's relation between hardware, design and price is just... meh
That's why I think about getting Z2. It looks like a bigger and facelifted 4S + from what I've heard the battery is really good in this one And the microsd port is always a nice thing to have

why i think logically you will love Z2
Great battery - 3300Mah Li-ion
plenty of useful features.. if you use them
nice looks.. to me at least
1080p screen
water resistant IP58 Cert
xperias are tough. i beat a Xperia S up for about 3 years and it still works in my brothers hands
Z2 feels tough
micro Sd slot upto 128gb
many more, just check GSM arena or sony mobile website for phone details

Li-ion wears out over time and incrases due to heating
Li-poly wears out due to use and after a long time it will explode
I've just read (and saw at many Youtube vidoes) that the Z2 likes to overhear, espacially while playing games/watching movies and (most of the time) while taking photos and recording videos. Is it really such a common problem?
I didn't read the whole thread but if you plan to flash CyanogenMod on it, then u will lose the carrierbrand anyway.
Hello all,
I have had the Xperia Z2 since it was released here in the Netherlanns end of may 2014. During that time, I had to switch my xperia z3 five times because of bad call quality.
The one I have now is still not good, almost everyone says that I sound bad or that the connectoin is really bad. I can hear the other party fine and loud enough. I've searched xda-dev for the soundmod, but I think that only fixes using the two speakers for notifications? Also, when in a loud room it is really hard for the other party to here me.
I'm tempted to exchange this one again and finnaly hope for a good one. I really want to like this phone, but it's getting harder and harder. I know that there is a call qaulity mod that fixes it for everyone, but I have not been able to find it. I did find this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/development/rom-envi-rom-stock-beta-t2811710 - But I dont know if it is included in there.
Also, when I take a picture in low-light, the camera has a tendacy to go all grainy on me and it seems to be really struggling to gte a sharp picture. Anyone else have this? I really expected more of this camera. It does take great pictures in good light though.
Many thanks!
The camera i know about
Low light is pretty much the same in most phones, xperias dont use any grain removing post processsing unlike other brands
For phone quality i dont know much but try changing some settings under >settings>phone
Disable noise reduction
Ive heard somtimes these settings fix problems like these

I did change the settings to see if it improved somewhat, it did not however. Low light can be good if you really know your way around manual mode though. Surperior auto can be either really awesome, or really bad. I guess it is replacing another one again... sigh.

Im on my 4th Z2
Honnestly after all them defective replacements this one is working perfectly fine and im happy
If any brand ill stick to sony, My Xperia S was a tanky phone and somehow this Z2 (although i still distrust modern tech when it comes to toughness)
The only problem i currently have is when using google hangouts, no OTHER app does this at all but google hangouts somehow causes overheating
Not even gaming nor 4K recording does this :/

True and not true
When this phone came out it was the very first to be manufactured by sony and not someome else
And to add to that about 9 batches werent tested hence the earlier models of this phone are faulty
Its likely you are going to come across this
If you have the money it may be worth an upgrade to Z2

Yeah thought so. Maybe I can purchase one second hand, a new one is getting too expensive. The Xperia z3 also has more microphones then the z2, so that would help.
