Help installing ChaosROM via RESTORE - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

I downloaded ChaosROM_252vzw.v1.rar from the "[WIP] Safestrap 3.72 compatible ROMS list [KitKat NC5]" thread here
: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2769389
It really seems like it would be an interesting rom. However, it seems that it has to be installed via RESTORE. What are the prerequisites before installing this rom?
I know I have to backup my current cache in recovery and replace the cache.ext4.win file, but which one gets replaced? The one from my backup or the one from the Chaos Rom I want to install? Thanks.
(FYI: I am on Safestrap v3.72 and on NC5. Currently on EchoeRom v22.)

not sure cuz i didnt pack a kernel with it. if you want to try this install some mdk modules after the rom http://omniimpact.com/android/roms/myfishbear/GS4/jfltevzw-MDK-modules.zip
Can you pack a kernel with it for us on MDK? If there was a compatible kernel it could just be flashed after installing the rom but I don't think there is a MI1 kernel?
I don't see how wifi will work without someone making a compatible kernel?

try flashing the rom, mdk modules, and root. it should work. if not try chronic kernel 4.2. i believe the stock kernel will kill loki without modifications. i may be wrong.
you can find the kernel here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2319243
It won't activate the phone in the set up wizard.
I guess with this it doesn't read the sim card it says there is a problem with it and won't activate.

4.3 Mj7 and rooted,what can i do?

i just replaced my phone with warranty then promptly updated it to 4.3 and rooted it using vroot. i wanted to install a recovery and eventually install a rom with a main focus on gaming if there is such a rom..., however i keep trying different recoveries and they all keep failing to install as far as i can see.. im guessing there isnt one for 4.3?
You're on MJ7, you can't install a custom recovery or ROM. This has been discussed a million bagillion times already.

[Q] ROM for Verizon SCH-1545 MK2

Succesfully restored using Heimdall on Mac OS, then restored again using Kies after an erred attempt at wipe using Safestrap.
Now safe - looking for a way to load an un-bloated ROM for Verizon SCH-I545 MK2 using Safestrap. Preferrably from Cyanogen, any recommendations? Experience?

Your ONLY option right now are TW ROMs with a MJ7/MK2 base.

Questions like this belong in the Q and A thread, however, best rom threads also get closed as XDA is not a support site and members are expected to do their own research into what suits them best.
Read, study, try them all, only you can make the determination.

[Q] Another help me Unroot thread

Recently rooted my Verizon phone which is running MK2 version. I uninstalled my custom rom which was installed using SafeStrap and now the phone is currently very buggy and I just want to go back to Stock, I have everything backed up so I can start fresh.
Thanks.

These are tar images you flash in Odin that take you back to stock.

One reason why hash code doesn't advise loading a rom over the stock rom. I take it you didn't make a backup of the stock rom before loading the custom one? Odin probably your best choice or look into Kies.

Is there any way to install Stock JB in Safestrap ROM Slot?

I want to use Stock suddenly, but I've already in Safestrap, installed CM12 in Stock SLot.
Is there any way to install any JB stock firmware without RSD Lite or way that using wipe SD Card?

It does sound like a sketchy proposition without backing everything up and restoring your phone to factory default with the current stock rom, would it be possible or too much hassle to simply install the stock rom in a new slot instead of replacing what already works in your stock slot? I'm sure there are people who have also flashed new stock roms to the stock slot and re-rooted, I haven't done this myself, but might be worth some google research, either way I don't know how it would be possible to dodge some serious changes to your internal storage unless the work was done in a new slot.

You cannot just install stock ROM, on a Rom slot it needs to be modified to a installable zip, or a nandroid backup.

Ahh that's good to know, I better go backup my Stock rom then I never thought of replacing it since that sort of nullifies the point of safestrap in a way...
