Since I don't seem to find anything vibration related, I decided to start a new topic.
I don't know about you, but coming from an S3, on which the ringtone at full volume is most likely to cause more vibration than the vibration itself, the ZU in comparison almost causes an earthquake every time I get a new SMS or email...
I get that the vibration is supposed to be felt, but I wish I could set that to a lower level, for when I put in on the table at the office...
Are there any apps that could fulfill my needs?
Could you recommend some?

There might be a possibility in the future..don't know about it now. I have the feature built in with CM10.2 nightly on my HOX to change the power of the vibrator

My vibrator is also incredible violent, and i've checked the back and every tiny detail on the hardware, and it's solid like a rock. It doesn't sound funny or anything, it's just so powerful.

Didn't test it yet, just saw in a previous thread that he have the back going out at the exact place on the vibrator. But I can say that for once, I really feel when my phone vibrate on my pant, believed it was due to it size but now I know it's not

It's definitely related to the back cover problem.
I kept the phone warm for a bit and then I clamped it for 2 hours, it was fine for half an hour maybe, and then the back plate started to lift up again, obviously influencing the vibration as well.
I'm so pissed as I'm realising that I will have to go for warranty one day.
And by that I mean going through the whole "I bought the phone in the UK but you know that Sony covers warranty damages anyway in any EU country if you bought it from one" process.
I guess they'll definitely will oppose some resistance at first.

Phone came back as new, they replaced it, didn't oppose any resistance, but took 15 days...
Anyway, back is fine and vibration sounds as it should finally.
So bottom line, if your vibration gets a little bit too "rattling sounding", it's definitely a back cover problem.

Following the topic opened for the device twisting in pocket (again, apologies for being a di*k on it), I discovered this other problem.
My back cover is not being completely shut.
I have a .5mm gap between the white border and the white back cover on the bottom right corner (looking from the back), just were the vibration motor is.
I'm even sure that this problem is related to another annoying thing for me, which is that the vibration is way too noisy (holding the corner pushed in makes the vibration smoother).
I submerged the phone in hot and cold water several times when I discovered this thing, but no problems whatsoever.
I tried to heat the back with an hairdryer and clamping it for the night, but eventually it lifts back up.
Oh, and I literally burned the white bezel a little (just a tiny little, but that got me really MAD), so be careful with the hairdryer in case you got the same issue.
I will post some pictures when I get hold of a decent camera.
Did some of you notice something like this?

Not really but comming from the note 2 the vibration alarm feels much smoother soo i think ypu could have a bad glueing spot. I believe there is npthing you can do about it but claim a warranty your own repair tries will make it just worse. If you can't get it repaired under warranty wait for ifixit and look if they publish a repair guide with reapplying of the glue (highly doubt it though)

Mate, I'd send that in for warranty, that is not normal. Mine is always kept in my pocket and I've sat on it a few times and it's still fine.

Yeah that was my first thought, but tomorrow I will check first if it's a repair that could be done without leaving the device in for a week or worse.
I don't want to use an old phone for a week, no way.
Not just for a glue thing that can be fixed in like 5 minutes anyway.

It happened way before, because the vibration was always strange...
Anyway, I sent it in for warranty, as yesterday I turned it off and it stayed in boot loops ever since.
I guess SetCPU had something to do with it, as I set it to 300mhz when the screen went off, and I suspect the phone didn't have the power it needed to turn back on.
I tried with every program I have (PCC, Sony Bridge, SUS), everything went fine repairing it, but no luck.
Now I'll have to wait more than a month (that's what they said, unfortunately) and I'll have to live with an LG 2X until then crying::crying.

I live in Verona, Italy, and the repair centre is in Milan, like 100 miles from here.
Still, I don't know why the hell they take all that time.
In fact, I will call Sony again tomorrow complaining A LOT about this.
It's unbearable that in 2013, when I send a package via UPS from Italy to US in 1 (ONE) day, a cell phone repair (in which they will probably just replace the whole device) takes A MONTH.

Let's hope so, but I'm not that confident, I'm in Italy, not in the UK... things go slooooooow here.
Or better yet, why just not give me a (paid) option to just get it repaired in a week? I paid premium price for the device, I don't care for another 50 £/$/€, I just want it back.

Hi all...thinking about getting a Smartband just have a quick question...
does it have to be connected to and near the phone all the time? So for example if I leave the phone in the house and go out in the garden do some stuff and come back to the phone will it connect again and sync everything that I have done whilst away from the phone?
Pretty much a deal breaker for me if it doesnt so would really like to know
Thanks!
It carries on working when unconnected to the phone, don't worry. When it reconnects, it syncs previous data.
Example, I turn my phone off at night and the band tracks sleep data and syncs in the morning when I turn the phone on.
The only issue I have (not with the band but with the Lifelog app) is that every two days or so, it appears as if it no longer collects data and shows no updates in the timeline. The first time this happened I tried all kinds of things to get it working again and ended up factory resetting. it still wouldn't log anything. However, I have discovered that after a period of time, the data miraculously appears and everything has been logged. I think this is either a bug which an app update will remedy, or maybe something server side with Sony.
Either way, if you see stuff not appearing in your timeline, don't worry, it will show up later.
Great thanks for the reply...now going to see where I can get the best deal on one!

I did not dry it after shower. I take it off only for charging.
I didn't test it underwater yet, but it should be fine according to Sony:
Your SmartBand is waterproof and dust resistant in compliance with the Ingress Protection (IP) rating IP58, as explained in the table below.
This specific IP rating means that your SmartBand is dust resistant and is protected against low pressure water stream as well as against the effects of immersion for 30 minutes in fresh (non-saline) water up to 3 metres deep.
You can use your SmartBand:
in dusty environments, for example, on a windy beach.
when your fingers are wet.
in some extreme weather conditions, for example, when it’s snowing or raining.
in fresh (non-saline) water depths of 3 metres or less, for example, in a fresh water lake or river.
in a chlorinated swimming pool.

Yep just tried taking a bath with it, no problems at all. But I'm still scared, wouldn't the water go in the charger slot and disrupt the functionality? Since the water got inside the band, just cautious

Have you installed the software? You can only use one application at a time. To activate it press the button once and tap on the smartband on top of it, not the button. You have to press it before the three LEDs flashes.

After pressing the button once you have about 15 seconds to make a gesture, like tapping on top of the band to start the musicplayer or tapping twice to play the next song.

Might have something to do with it only being used as a charging port, as opposed to a data and charging port.
Though honestly, I don't really see how water could get inside the band anyways- creates a pretty decent seal.

Water can go in usb port but that won't harm your device.
It's just like jack on top of your Z1/Z2 - no matter it's opened - it's waterproof.
You can go swimming with smartband without any worries, it'll be OK.
That's the whole idea, swimming, running, showering, sleeping with it... - That device should monitor your life, I guess that's why they pick name LifeLog...
I didn't believe in this thing, now my brand new smartwatch sleeps in a drawer while I'm using smartband - it's 10 times better and useful then smartwatch...

Yes, it's normal, just a reminder when you start the phone. Most custom Roms disable it.

I saw a rumor that some versions of this phone have a button where you can select not to see that message anymore. I really hope it's something they consider adding. It's the one thing bugging me about stock that makes me want to custom ROM over it.

Hello! I am from Argentina. My English is not very good
A friend has an Xperia XA Ultra and it's having strangers problems.
At the beginning it starts to doesn't response with the unlock bottom in aleatorys ways. After that, the cellphone starts to show a letter that said "UI system does not respond" when the unlock bottom doesn't respond.
Time passed and now the display does strange defects in the lower part of the screen and in the part nearly to the usb port It heats up a punctual zone.
I wanted to know if this has a solution and if this could have been made it for the use of a generic charger or an unstable voltage in the electric current
Thanks!
