Hello.
So, I got my problems fixed, but now I have a question, what if I use a german firmware in Denmark, what will it disable/enable etc.?
Regards
I guess the preinstalled apps will be different, the radio modem will be different,so there will be cellular disruption and unable to use radio and receive data.

You won't have any problems.
Baseband is same and everything will work fine.
Apps and bloatware depends on firmware you choose.
Use generic version to skip bloatware installation..

I was just wondering if there are any downsides to updating with the nordic method. theres no word yet from rogers about an update yet and I don't really want to wait.
I'm on Rogers and I'm using that firmware. No problems or issues.

Same!!! Its been perfect for me. Im extremely happy with 2.1

Cool thanks, I might give it a try then
I am on Rogers as well, it's great but I noticed today that I can not do a file transfer over bluetooth like I could with 1.6...can do audio but that's it.
I would suggest maby go for the WORLD GENERIC it seems more stable than the NORDIC maby its just me but after trying the NORDIC when it first came out the WORLD GENERIC seems to be a bit better
note im not on ROGERS Im on VODA in the UK but if your going to do the update try it and see which is best
remember to backup first as much as you can (root your 1.6 and use Titanium backup to backup your apps and data)
World Generic eh, do ya got a link handy for a how-to on that

Rogers' FW update is released starting tomorrow
No problems here at all! I now hear someone has successfully updated their X10 to 2.2 and it is running perfectly as well.
Im sure somebody probably asked this but i wanted to know what generic firmware is for a north american X10a? Im sure they all work but i would like to use one from north america
I'm in cali I use global generic Rom
Idk if that answers ur question?

Whatever I flashed on my phone works fine, I would just prefer to have a north American firmware, I might be using one I don't know how to check. Also is the reason I can't charge apps from the market to my wireless bill because my phone is debranded?

In general, GLOBAL GENERIC = X10i, non Americas, WORLD GENERIC = X10a, Americas
Check Settings, About Phone, Model Number. If X10a, then Americas.

Despite the fact that I'm an AT&T user in the US, several apps now have used pound instead of dollars. So far my USAA and Redlaser apps have done this. Any idea on how to switch them to US currencies? I've tried within the apps with no luck so it's definitely a phone not app issue.

I'm not sure I understand your response. I want to "Americanize" my phone not the other way around... also another issue is my dialer lists a "favourites" option... maybe I should be posting in the rom thread?

Yeah there is no firmware for American users so the next best thing is open Europe which is what I use. And your dialer lists a favourites option? I don't understand what you mean by that. My dialer has a favourites option too? Please post screen shot of this issue?.....

Ok - I'm on board to try open Europe. But I thought the rom decided the firmware? If I want to use open Europe would I have to install the stock version of that? I was just mention favourites as that's the European spelling of the word. I'm more concerned about the currency issue though.
I attached a screenshot of what I'm running

I have a unbranded Xperia S from an employee at Sony here in the US. Just got the OTA notification to update to .67
After the update the touch screen feels so much smoother and the capacitive buttons also feel more responsive.
I know the customization number is the same as the Sweden generic one so they should see the update as well.
Haven't noticed any other changes.

Hi Spectre51!
You don't feel like make a backup of your firmware? I was stupid not to do a backup of mine before flashing it with another firmware...:/ A build.prop would be pretty good if you don't feel like doin' a backup. I had the swedish generic before..

I can get you the build.prop easily enough. What would the commands be to backup the firmware?
When you update through the computer, the files are stored on the hdd in a folder called "blob_fs" I think.

Enjoy!
I just uploaded a new screenshot with battery usage after 4 hours of normal usage, I have 3G data permanently connected, synchronizing emails from 2 accounts every 15 minutes (one account using IMAP the other Exchange), Whatsapp, Talk and Viber running on the background. Doing and receiving normal calls. It looks decent the battery usage so far. I still have to test the stamina mode.
As always with Sony there is no option to encrypt the phone memory.
You read my mind I needed this one ! What can you say about it ? Does it lag or something ?
Sent from my LT22i using xda premium
It lags a little bit after the first boot then you wait a couple of minutes, reboot the phone and it works better. So far is working fine, haven't use it that much for a full review yet.
Because i updated mine, central Europe, and it's laggy and battery drains too fast ! Only 3 hours I have 44% left

I will update about battery usage later today after some hours of normal use, I did a factory reset when I installed it and right now I am downloading a lot of apps using 3G, so far battery looks similar to ICS.
Nice
It's working in Turkey, thank you :good::good::good:
Thanks , does it have English and Arabic "عربي" language?
works on brazil ?
Yes, it does have English and I believe arabic is there too.
In regards to if it works Brazil, it should, all the Xperias P have the same hardware just different software.

2- What is the differents between reagons? like Tiwan-Germany-Centre Eourope?

You won't lose any personal data. Different region may come with different pre installed software and customizations from the network operator.

Also different default language, HK firmware uses by default Chinese keyboard, but besides that most of them are very similar, except for the carrier specific versions which come with lot more useless software.

Most likely the baseband is the same in all firmwares since all the LT22i works on the same 2G/3G bands so they all have the same modem.
