Hey everyone. Been trying to get my DNA on 3G or HSPA plus here in NYC but I am having some trouble. Has anyone from the area been able to get this up and running? I only get edge meanwhile NYC is on the list for the 1900mhz hspa bands. Can someone share their apn or even what Rom they are using?

I know the Jetstream was designed to be run on AT&T and Rogers, but I am curious if it is possible to flash a radio to enable usage of T-Mobile's HSPA network, much like the Samsung Galaxy Note has been enabled to, as seen here.
Can any of the amazing Devs out there shed some light on this?

jdavis08, Simple answer is yes. It is a standard 2G / 3G / LTE (AT&T / AWS band) phone. So you can use it on ANY 2G / 3G / LTE network with a SIM. But you may need to break the SIM Lock on any handset.
Just wanted to clarify. The Jetstream is 2G/3G/LTE /capable, 2G (GSM): 850/900/1800/1900MHz, 3G (UMTS/HSPA): 850/1900/2100, and LTE: 700mhz & AWS-1700/2100.
Currently, T-Mobile only uses the AWS for their HSPA+ network, not LTE (from what I understand, AWS will be transitioned for LTE and 1900mhz refarmed for 3G/4G early 2013) - and if I'm not mistaken, the HSPA+ is only supported by the "3G" band of this device, not the "LTE"
So - to make a long story short. I am a T-Mobile subscriber with various "4G" phones from T-Mobile. Their 4G only works if the phone has a radio with AWS for HSPA as T-Mobile (unlike AT&T) does not use the 1900mhz for their HSPA (yet). I own this tablet.. It has been SIM unlocked and it simply does not get anything above EDGE... and I live near and visit major cities in Washington State, Seattle/Bellevue/Tacoma, which definitely have TMo's 4G coverage.
I know I should just cool my jets until TMo rolls out the network upgrades, as I have no interest in joining AT&T. I was just curious if there was some way to "trick" the phone to use the AWS frequencies for HSPA, like the Galaxy Note has been made to do as the radio specs are identical.
I know that the Note was enabled to do this by flashing another radio. Support is minimal for the Jetstream these days... so I was just reaching out.
Thanks guys
is it possible to get anything beyond edge speeds?

depends on your location.
T-mobile USA is moving 3G to 1900mhz band, which will allow the photon/iphone to get 3G.
Currently, most t-mobile USA towers have 3G on 1700mhz which the photon/iphone cannot handle.
When the 1900 towers for tmobile upgrade to 4g, will that allow the Photon to access 4g?
Hey all, I'm starting a bounty and I personally will pay $50 for anyone that can help get 3G on T-Mobile in the refarmed areas (1900mhz) I will help anyone that's attempting to make this work and needs testing because I am located in a refarmed area. I followed the thread that got AT&T working by writing the NV values, I also tried the Sensation NV values but still stuck on EDGE. I figured the refarming process wasn't finished, however I decided to pop my sim card into my old Pantech Matrix Pro 3G (850/1900) and to my surprise it was on 3G where as it has always used EDGE before the refarming of my area. I live in Jersey City and everywhere around I get a consistent and strong 3G signal on this Pantech Matrix Pro. I've seen a lot of people saying you'll have to wait till your area gets refarmed to 1900 to use TMO 3G on the Rezound but I am proof that the refarming still does not allow the Rezound to lock onto 3G when on T-Mobile and that there must be an underlying problem with the Rezound itself.
1900 is 4g

If I'm not mistaking the 1900 spectrum being refarmed allows for 3g and 4g because a bunch of non T-Mobile iPhone's and other phones such as the Inspire, Vivid, etc have been reported getting 3G in the refarmed areas.
Howdy everyone and thanks for helping.
Last year I had an S2 with a 70$ Pre-paid T-mobile SIM and while connectivity was OK, max. data carrier was EDGE, which was OK, given that it was reliable and had no caps that could be reached with EDGE.
This year in June I would like to have best mobile coverage, travelling between Boston and Chicago, both through upstate NY and PA.
Please suggest the best deal to have a) a good, fast network, b) high data volume and c) usable with a European Galaxy S3.
Your input is greatly appreciated!

I'm on at&t, works flawlessly on the i9300 on h+, usually get ~3Mb/s but sometimes raises to 8Mb/s during the night
The i9300 doesn't have the 1700 band for t-mobile 3g so you'll be on edge

I also have the i9300 here in the states. I use tmobile on the phone. If those areas that you travel have been refarmed for the 1900mhz frequencies you will get h+. I currently live in such an area, so the speeds are faster than when I was with att. But if you want the most reliable speeds as possible with out issues then you need to have att coverage.

I'm in USA X829 currently on METRO PCS GSM carrier. I'm getting LTE fine but its not switching to 3G. I'm currently running linage ROM. This phone does support 3g band for my carrier. My question, is there a secret menu or something to setup a priority for LTE 3g? I know on some TouchWiz ROMs this is possible. I've also tried flashing Chinese, USA and the developer modem. Would only get LTE or H H+. Would not show 3G and wouldn't get any data till I'm in a LTE capable area.
Did a little more research H+ and H are faster than 3g. But I wasn't getting any data when they turned on
