i have two processes that keep crashing regularly and have quite frankly, wrecked my experience with the phone.
if i didn't know better i would say it is result of me uninstalling bloatware using titanium backup and accidently uninstalling important stuff
that or xposed framework causing some troubles.
First off,
i seem to have broken MTP mode on my xperia z2. whenever i connect device in MTP mode, PC does not detect it, Both explorer.exe and PC companion fail to detect my device, and the device itself shows this notification.
Unfortunately, the process android.process.media has stopped

Click to collapse
So far, MTP mode seems to be only casualty of this process crashing constantly.
Second,
My sync services seem to have stopped working too. i can't sync my google calender. rest of accounts and even rest of google features sync perfectly.
whenever i try to sync calendar, it gives another notification -
"Unfortunately, Exchange Services has stopped."
Click to collapse
Since, i have autosync on, and it tries to sync again and again, i keep getting this notification again and again.
i have tried everything that i could find on google. my last resort seems to be repairing phone with help of Sony PC companion.
please help me avoid such a situtaion.
Also, if say situation in unavoidable, do i lose all my apps when i repair phone? PC companion says personal data such as contacts, messages, bookmarks, settings, calendar events and files such as video, photos in internal storage will be deleted. It makes no mention about apps at all.
since i have huge apps (NFS most wanted, Injustice:gods among us), i'd hate to download them again...
Secondly, Do i lose root access upon repairing phone?
Thirdly, will my bootloader still remain unlocked?

I'm currently running CM10-20121210-Nightly-d2spr.
I was trying it to see if I can get the camera to work and of course it still doesn't focus so I've pretty much given up on the camera ever working again. I guess I can live with that but the one thing I cannot live without on my phone is the gmail not working.
I can receive emails just fine but it will not send emails. It says "sending" when I press send and acts like it's working but it never leaves the phone.
Also, now when I delete an email in my gmail account it is not deleting on my desktop. So I guess I have two problems, the "SEND" feature is not working and it's no longer syncing with my desktop.
Any help, suggestions?
Sorry - found the solutuion after posting
But if anyone else is having the same problem..
Go into settings, applications, manage applications, Gmail, then click on clear data. You may also try rebooting after that.
I am running on the latest stock Verizon firmware on my Note 2. Starting last week I've been having this very annoying issue where at least once a day, all my contacts will disappear on my phone. I am using my Google contacts as my only source of contacts, it is a fairly simple contact list with no extra labels or anything complicated involved. When the contacts disappear, I go under settings --> (accounts) Google --> my gmail account, and see an error under Contacts stating "Sync error: Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly." Hitting "Sync Now" again and again will not clear this error. When I restart my phone, the sync will work and my contacts will return, but after a day this error will occur again and my contact list disappears.
I have tried removing my google account from the phone, restarting, and readding the account without success. I have tried going under settings --> application manager and deleting the cache for the phone, contact list, and messanger without any effect. I have also tried completely resetting the phone and starting from scratch without any success as well.
It is sad because I have never had this issue before on my previous android phone (Droid X) and it is making me want to throw this phone against the wall!
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Try downloading app "Contacts Sync Fix" from the Play store. Worked for me!

Problem solved: I have an application called Call Control Pro that blocks telemarketer phone numbers. Apparently there was a bug that caused all contacts to disappear requiring a reboot for them to come back, process then repeats daily. They fixed the issue in the latest update. Thank goodness, because I was being driven crazy by this issue.
Hey,
I have a Huawei Honor 2 [U9508B 2GB RAM model] running EMUI B628.
I seem to be getting very strange syncing errors since my update. ALL google apps except for Play Store do not want to sync with Google, except on some very strange and rare occasions. I need to be able to access Gmail on my smartphone. It's one of my most important apps, but Gmail cannot sync properly, often staying at the Waiting for Sync screen for weeks on end.
I have tried reflashing my phone, but that was only a temporary remedy. The problem continued a mere 2 days after reflash.
Because I cleared the Google Framework Services data, YouTube is no longer connected to my account, so when I tap sign in, "There is a problem with your network" pops up a mere millisecond later.
Stuff I have tried:
1. Disable and re-enable auto sync a million times
2. Tap sync now a billion times
3. Remove account and re-add it. (I have only tried this once, but when I did, I couldn't sign in. it just said "couldn't sign in - couldn't establish a reliable connection to the server")
4. Clear the data of anything google
5. Clear cache and dalvik-cache in recovery
Is there anything else I could try? I've had this phone for just two months. I'd hate to go out and buy another phone.
Thanks!
Hello, my Atrix 4G (MB860, Android 2.3.6, 4.5.141.MB860.ATT.en.US) got new problem, currently the biggest (it's really worth than one day on battery working or error updating on 4.5.145 firmware). Phone is unlocked, rooted.
The full error that reads is:
"The application Contacts Storage (process com.motorola.contacts) has stopped unexpectedly Please try again."
Then I get a Force Close.
This error appears after viewing a contact or trying to add a new one. It makes really hard to call on contacts second or third number...
I did some internet searching, and what comes up most often is people having frozen some application (usually Yahoo Mail). I haven't frozen anything before it stopped working.
It all happened today after couple of app updates (Endomondo Sports Tracker, Evernote, Hex Editor, Lan plugin for Total Commander, Skype, Smart Compass, Speedtest, Winamp, Yandex Navigator, Lookout Security), Lookout Security is already uninstalled.
More internet searching led me to an answer that seems to help most people: replacing the files in /system/app:
blur_yahoo.apk
blur_yahoo.odex
YahooContacts.apk
YahooContacts.odex
Mine weren't missing, but I went ahead and got the Linux 2.3.6 versions of those files, copied them over, changed the permissions to 644 and the owner/group to root, power booted (battery out), and no good.
Another suggestion was renaming the two BlurContactsSync files to *.bak. Did that, then reboot... no change.
Also tried to use "ExDialer & Contacts" it's getting the same error when adding contact but gives ability to view contact.
The last thing I did was a complete restore of all apps and data with Titanium from a backup back when I know contacts was working. Reboot. No fix.
I'm now at a complete loss. Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!
Go into cwm and fix permissions, then clear cache and reboot. Once rom booted, go to settings and clear contacts app's data. That worked for me, althrough i lost all contacts, i synced them again

Problem in Endomondo
I too got the same error message as you, and also like you I have Endomondo. But I have Android version 2.3.5 and it is NOT rooted, just out of the box operating system settings.
I tried clearing the data first for Endomondo under "Manage Apps" but that didn't help. Then I uninstalled it and cycled power on the phone and when it came back up I could look at the contacts. Yey!
Let me know if this helps.
tl;dr: is there something like "sync threads" or timers on Android 8 that could have stopped for whatever reason, and how do I start them?
I have a problem wherein sync of various apps stopped working days after a fresh install. Unfortunately, I do not know what I changed at the time it stopped working, but I do have some additional information:
It all started when I noticed that DAVDroid was not syncing.
I then discovered that Firefox was also not syncing, but when I hit the button in the sync settings, it actually forced a sync, and a toast was displayed "auto-sync timers have been started". It seems that this is actually a message issued by TaskWarrior, as that's the only hit for that phrase on the Web. Shortly after hitting that button, Firefox synchronised, and DAVDroid sync also started working.
Unfortunately, my device switched between access points during a subsequent sync, and since then, syncs have no longer been working, and I also cannot get Firefox to sync at all, nor can I get this "auto-sync timers" message back.
And yes, I've rebooted the device several times to no avail… :crying:
Do you have any idea what the issue could be?
Is it possible that there is something like a sync thread on Android, and those are somehow not running properly? How could I fix that?
