Recently I got my hands on this Android device but for some reason I can't root it using any of the currently available methods. I've enabled USB debugging, enabled installation of APKs from unknown sources, and tried many tools such as Framaroot, Shuame, RootGenius, vRoot, MTK Tools, even the latest update of Towelroot. I've even tried manually rooting using the psneuter method, but none of them worked, either the tool would say that the exploit was not effective on my device, or the procedure would progress as usual but after the final reboot, my device still doesn't have root permissions (checked via Root Checker app). Does anyone know why this happens or any method to gain root privileges on my device? Here are some of its specs:
CPU: MTK6592 Octa core @ 1.7 GHz
Android: 4.4.2 KitKat
Baseband: MOLY.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V34 (2014/05/06)
Kernel: 3.4.67 [email protected] #3 (2014/05/28)
Build Number: KOT49H.G9006VSKSU1ANCE
Custom Built Version: 1401178095
(Please see attachment for more details via MTK Droid Tool)
The device is a Chinese clone device so some model numbers may be spoofed but I can confirm at least that it is running the real 4.4.2 KitKat. I'm not too experienced with Android though, so sorry if I've missed anything important.
Try
Please try the VRoot

I consulted XDA user S7yler and he sent me this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38337401
I followed it and managed to gain root privileges on the device. (The tutorial forgot to mention that you need MTK drivers installed beforehand)
The specific device model is MAC A215, and the tutorial guides you through reading back the ROM image, patching the boot and recovery images, flashing them back onto your device, and then installing superuser binaries.
He also has a detailed post about the HDC MTK6592 family of Galaxy S5 clone devices here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2761971
Although a pre-rooted ROM is provided there, I strongly suggest making your own patched ROM using images extracted from your device as I have noticed that even though our device hardwares are the same, they may be running different ROMs so any provided pre-patched images may not be fully compatible.
Be sure to thank him if this works for you.

Download drivers for mtk preloader (you can find it on the forum).
Link your phone with usb cable without battery and open the latest FlashTools.
Download this rom:
needrom . com/mobile/rooted-s5-hdc-from-ibaby888-mtk6592/
Open it with FlashTools (and with the phone linked via usb without battery) click on download button and put the battery in your phone.
Wait for driver installation and wait for flashing.
Remove usb cable, the battery and after 5/10 secs reput battery in.
Power On and wait for the first startup (a few of mins).
Flash SuperSu Zip installer from recovery (you can find it on the forum).
Install a root explorer.
Delete nvram folder in /data and wait about 30 seconds. Reboot and rewrite imei with mtkdroid tools (If you don't have one steel it from and old phone and after destroy it because if your carrier find two identical imei on the network put they in blacklist).
Reboot and check the network and the right imei change with *#06#
Same problem with my G9006V phone. None of the tools posted above are working.
I don't need so badly to root my device, since we have no CM 11.0 ROMs for our device (I had CM ROMs on all my old phones and I actually love it).
The only fact that is annoying me is that I cannot edit the build.prop file, in order to get rid of that stupid 320 dpi. I need 240 dpi on my device. VRoot says that my phone is rooted but I cannot access any files and Root Checker is actually telling me that my phone isn't rooted lol. Root Explorer and File Explorer are telling me that my device isn't rooted so I cannot browse system files.
Anyway, I'll wait for an "one click root" app for this model too ... I'm sure that sooner or later this year we'll have a proper ROM too.
If you find anything new, please let us all know. I already subscribed to this topic.
Best wishes to you all and thank you in advance !

I couldn't unroot my motorola mb526 with android 2.3.6 too. I struggled 3 evenings till late in the night to try different unroot software, and guess what! I tried FRAMA root and that was working!!! I downloaded the APK file somewhere with the laptop and then I put it on the sd card and then installed it on my phone. With rootchecker I checked if it was unrooted or not and i simply couldn't believe my eyes, UNROOTED with such a simple app within a few seconds! Upgrade was going smooth and now I have Jelly Bean on my phone ( Wanted actually Kitkat but the installation was aborted the whole time)
Kind regards, Evelyn from the Netherlands

Ok got the rom installed(s5 rom ibaby888) on my hdc g9006v. It is rooted and I deleted the fefault apns and entered the straight talk one put my sim in and wont register on att network. i know the phone is not rooted lol as stated before the phone is not rooted it has no bust box or anything i have all ready installed supersu and superuser both do not work because of the fact the phone is not rooted the phone has read only permission on so wen i try run super one click or anything it says the phone is all ready router and then fails wen i tell it to continue anyway
right! when you try to access rom manager a message should pop up asking for permission from Superuser. If it doesn't then your not rooted. Also you can download apps from the marketplace to see if your rooted also.

it is actually really easy download the adb files and run adb commands via cmd
make sure you run the command : adb root
before you do anything once you have done this download the apk files for superuser or another one and tell it to install adb
adb install supersu.apk
wen thats done all you need to do is search on these forms for the super one click or mtk tool kit
open the folders that come with one of these and look for a file thats called root.bat or something this is the file that contains there root commands
look threw the files and look for all the commands that are used to set file permission and stuff and copy them and run them via the adb window
and wen your done it should be rooted
i will work on a full root guide for all mtk devices and post it over the week end
WHAT PEOPLE NEED TO REMEMBER IS THESE PHONES ARE CHINESE KNOCK OFFS ! THEY ARE USULY ALL READY ROOTED THEY HAVE JUST HAD THE FILE PERMISSIONS CHANGED BACK
all ways download rook checker fromt eh google play store and run it if your phones pre rooted but thad the permisions changed back it will say your phone is not fully rooted this means it is part rooted !
Hi people, anyone know how to root leagoo lead 2? This phone uses MTK6582 chipset, rom version is 4.4.2. I tryed root with root genius but it failed, it said that my phone is too tough to root (sorry bad english)
good question
im also looking to root my lead 2 usual tools dont seem to do the trick
Rooting is actually the first and easiest step to begin your journey on android developing, if you can't root, you won't succeed in android development. Don't worry, I will help you with root.
To root your device, I highly recommend Kongo android root(PC), it not only covers a really great amount of device, but is also able to unroot your device, all it takes is just a click after you plugged your device into the PC. Or if you don't want to use the PC, you can install an app that will help. It is called vroot, it is Chinese, so it might be a little hard for you to understand.
Kongo is not working. Stucks at waiting for device. waited about 1 hour and still stucked.
Re
Hi, try KingRoot works for me its chinese app.you can download from website kingroot.net place apk file on your Phone and install then you can root your device very easy
Thanks for the help. APK worked very well .
Is it safe to use this chinese root app
Chrome was warning about a "Possible Dangerous Download File", but I still downloaded it and scanned for viruses.
This is the APK virus scan report : apkscan (dot) nviso (dot) be/report/show/c4340bc2d1322e514e025430dc9c5d7c
I'm not an expert but i recon the antivirus picked it up only because there is lots of low level scripts that root your device i guess (cmdline files?)... and the hard-coded URL's listed in the scan point to few sites: Android.com , QQ.com, kingroot.net, ibutian.com, and non of them seem to be a malware websites.
Anyway let me know if it's all-right to use this APK and root my Leagoo Lead 2
You can use that apk. its safe and worked for me very well.
Tested now with kingroot but unable to root it.
Seems that last OTA update is the problem
Any other suggestion?
EASY DONE
Kingo root - DOESNT WORK forget it!
VROOT dont work - Forget it.
Sat back and had a think and BOOM
went to leagoo website downloaded the new V10 rom listed there.
Unzipped file, Flashed rom to phone first, only cause i wanted to update new device.
After flashing, UNPLUGGED PHONE used MTKDroid tools to flash cmw, (open droidtools, DONT PLUG PHONE IN) and go to root/backup/recovery and choose boot file, it asks to "create cmw automatically" say yes, VIOLA droidtools makes the recovery.
Then used SPFLASHTOOLS to flash cmw recovery - works great.
As i have been playing with MIUI and an Elephone P2000 had the file - UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.02.zip
cant do links, so search in google "download UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.02.zip" and first link is the winner
booted into recovery, flashed it and have root, easy peasy

Hi guys. I have bought Xperia Z Ultra C6833 a few days ago. and I have updated my phone to the latest version which is 14.6.A.1.236 via online update in settings and my bootloader is locked.
I have some question about rooting my device:
A) I have searched many topics about rooting this build number and i have found 2 out of which:
1) the first one is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z-ultra/development/ub-14-6-1-236-stock-ftf-root-t3270850 and my question is can I use your method in my phone? I mean should I unlock my bootloader or not? Does it create problem that I updated my phone via online update and without Flashtools?
2) another one is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/tool-prfcreator-easily-create-pre-t2859904 and my question is= is it safe I mean my phone will not be hurt? I mean first I download stock firmware ftf file and put it in the software and add SuperSU zip file and blend them or mix them together and finally flash the result with flashtools. can I use this method for rooting my device?
help me pleaseeee:angel::angel: tell me which one is better or which method is better. please please please:angel::angel:
1) if you want unlock bl should be work 2) in this method prfcreator output zip file you should flash with CWM or TWRP recovery so you need unlock bl or root phone.
if you want only root phone without unlock bl try kingroot app then replace supersu (with this tutorial) you can also flash zip file created with prfcreator after root and install XZDualRecovery.
English isn't my first language, so please excuse any mistakes

Weird, it worked on my zu same build number, you can try iroot or kingoroot different from kingroot, otherwise you should unlock bl, no other idea, maybe you'll find someone else to help you or search for other method.

im success with that tutorial on that link
hi
u just need to install IRoot on your pc and then run it to root your z u.....,after rebooting it says ' Root Successful '
but u dont have the root access yet................................,
u can find an App called kingroot ((u cant unistall it - like system apps )) open it and it will scan your device for root access.......then use it to root it
for the guys from in iran U have to use VPN to compele the process
Hi guys,
the kingroot app does work for me. But only in part. What I mean is yes it gives root access but for other apps like adaway it' doesn't. And the second part where we run the sh script with unzipped, mrw folder files. That didn't work for me. I get stuck on supersu update failed. Eventually I did find another way from one of our brothers here at xda and I did get root "YAY " but on one of the reboots I got into boot loop lol(ofcourse I don't blame him for it) . And now I am back here to flashing FTF to stock firm with no root. (again ?) I do have a fair idea about rooting a few of my devices but this baby just doesn't want to be mine.

Skip the magisk part and to prevent bootloop use this
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/2014-09-02-supersu-v2-05-t2868133
Or an older version of supersu 2.79 for example

Thanks bro, guess I was late reading this. Got myself a vivo v11 pro
Im in possession of a Xperia Z Ultra, with lollipop 5.1.1 14.6.A.1.236, how do i go about rooting it? Ive been reading along on the forums and internet, and the only thing i can come to is using this one click program Kingoroot (and the likes), but those dont seem to be installing (error code).
What's the best way rooting my device? The USB port is abit unreliable, im using the magnetic port to charge the device.

Using kingo root solved it for me.
Trying to root an Astrotab but I'm not able to connect the device with usb debugging because I don't have the correct USB drivers on my windows 10 machine. After scouring the web I've been unable to find any in existence and hopefully someone here has been able to do so or knows of some workaround. I'm new to rooting and I am using an application called oneclickroot , I don't know if this is the best method but the software isn't recognizing the device due to lack of drivers. Here are my device specifications below
Model A935
Android version 5.1.1
Firmware Version v3.3rc5
Kernel Version 3.4.39 [email protected] #9
Build Number A33_U92C_U992HB2C_1510077.20151228
root apk
try to get some rooting apk on tablet, and try to root with that
Which do you recommend? I heard that kingroot leaves behind alot of bloatware that is hard to get rid of
UPDATE
Still not able to locate any ADB drivers for windows 10 on this device. Tried non pc apk's Kingroot , Towelroot/Iroot. Still no success , any help would be appreciated.
Working...
After 4-5 grueling hours finally got it working! How do i know if this is temporary or permanent root? I used root checker and it says it is properly installed on this device. Only thing there seems to be alot of bloatware on my device now. How do I tell what is safe to remove? Some crap called one click , app cool , etc was removed and I lost root access. Re-did process and got root again but still have the same chinese applications present on my device. App Cool , King root , superUser.. My question is do I have to deal with having them on my device , or is there a safe way to remove them without losing root?
app
Remove all except Superuser because it is main root aplication

Can you explain how you got it to root properly? I tried king root application on windows 10 but I couldn't get it to root. It's all in Chinese, as well.
I easily rooted this tablet with KingRoot then used the KingRoot to SuperSU script to get KingRoot replaced. But mainly I'm commenting because I just wanted any tablet owners to know that I have the stock firmware and flashing tools (windows) that u can use to get the tablet back to stock or save yourself from a bootloop ( I can confirm this because I bricked mine using substratum lol) Also I can confirm that marshmallow will b an option sometime during Q1 of 2017 as quoted from insipira.
Sort of....
The Marshmallow update will only work on A10 tablets manufactured after October 1, 2016 (according to the folks at Inspira) Unfortunately, it will give you a white screen and nothing more on older versions of the hardware - I know. I have one. I tried. It doesn't work. Save yourself the frustration. The biggest pain with the A10 is that the bootloader is locked and attempts to unlock it are a waste of your time. If you brute force KingoRoot on it, it will not survive a reboot because of the unlockable bootloader. The vendor is unable (or more likely unwilling) to provide an unlocking code which tells me future tablet business for self and clients will have to go elsewhere. PITY - it is a really nice little unit but not worth calling in the NSA to try to root it. Oh well, lots of other inexpensive Android Tablet vendors out there.

Can you explain how you were able to unlock the bootloader?
I have the same device and I've been unable to unlock the bootloader. I can get ADB working, boot into recovery just fine, but I can't figure out how to boot into the bootloader, whenever I try to (either using the adb command to reboot into bootloader or using recovery itself) it just shows the "Astro Tab" logo and gets stuck like that forever. I made sure to enable the option about allowing OEM bootloader unlock in the "Developer Settings" window.

Can you explain how you were able to use KingRoot to root this? I downloaded the apk from http://kingroot.net, installed it, and clicked the "Try Root" option, but it got stuck on the "Acquiring Root" step after a few minutes and completely crashed.
Here is a picture of where it got stuck: https://i.imgur.com/L4Pxtjn.jpg I couldn't even screenshot since system was frozen, and even connecting via ADB didn't work at this point. The reason I noticed that the device froze was because the clock did not update (it was around 8:30 when I took the picture, not 8:16 as shown).
I'm also having an issue unlocking the bootloader -- I can't even get to the bootloader (see my earlier post for details) but that's a whole different issue.

Is SRSRoot feasible?
I saw it's twitter feed say that my phone model was rooted. I tested it and it said it worked but it just rebooted. If it did work I suspect it's work was rewritten upon reboot.

did you try with KingoRoot? or IRoot?
latest update for it was on 2015, it might be Old.
VWell, KingoRoot fails and then crashes. IRoot loaded my phone with Chinese apps and then failed. KingRoot says the device isn't supported. I'm kind of at a loss of what to try next, if there is anything.
Also, yeah, thanks for pointing out it was old. I actually didn't realize that.
My device is a TracFone ZTE Majesty Pro LTE [Z799VL][Android 6.0.1]

OK, now we're talking, you can't root android 6.0+ with any one click root app, as far as i know, the device is new, you will have to wait till a custom Recovery is built for the phone, or you can build it your self, there are tutorials to build TWRP for general and also for MTK phones (In case your phone have one).
TWRP tutorial:

Alright, I'll look into it and see if I can accomplish anything. Thank you!

King root will root MANY phones with 6.0+and it's one click, but the older one clicks will not root 6.0+ however kingroot will NOT root this phone. This phone has a boot loader. And before anyone says anything, TRUE some phones, DONT have to have unlocked boot loaders to be rooted, but some do. As far as a custom recovery, exactly how you'd flash it to the device without root access I'm not sure. I even tried the old old zte merrit process for ginger bread, but you need to be really familiar with adb etc to use it. It's possible, just have to wait for some one that is a little better than me.. lol I noticed something in the build.prop that may be it, not sure. But it's no way to change that for sure without root. So not worth mentioning.
