FHi guys..
I really need few information regarding latest (402) firmware.
If anyone on XDA is from ex YU region (Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, maybe even Slovenia) and can confirm which fw will work in our region.
I know all fw will work but there's problems with 4g - it doesn't work on German, UK, DE firmware.
So....if anyone has some good info, advice or firmwar for our region - please share...I'm on T-mobile and there's still no 402 fw...
BTW - I test everything and I'm sure it's firmware / baseband problem.
Flashing 55 baseband files on 492 won't help.
Customisation nr from (TELEKOM LTE)17.1.A.2.55 is 1282-1397 (R4A)
Tnx

It may be country spesific but thats just region customization, everything else should be global

Tnx for replying mate...
Actually, I got 55 (t-mobile) from @Nut (tnx buddy one more time) and the other day t-mobile (finally) released 402 for my country.
Everything is working great now...
I built fw and I'm planning to upload it (even I doubt anyone will ever need it).
I tried two times already but even I have good download speed (12mbps) I have only 512kbps upload and in dev-host uploading issues (can't get more then 100kbps) it's 5-7 hours job.. (10h if I wanna upload 55 and 402).
I'll try tonight...

Really?
No one is offering LTE?
That's odd...
We have VIPnet and t-mobile for LTE - t-mobile actually is offering two "mods" of LTE.
4g - up to 7.2 mbps
4g+ - up to 72 mbps
Only tele2 have only 3g..
Yoy don't have infrastructure for LTE or providers/carriers just don't want to offer it?

There is no LTE network because our law doesn't recognize that specific frequencies currently in use for TV emisson are necessary for LTE. Or maybe it is radio signal, don't take it for granted, but it is bureaucracy problem. Networks are ready, but cannot emit LTE before the appropriate law. I would also like to be able to download fw for Srb, BiH and Macedonia (maybe it is the same for Croatia), and I think that SI number is 1281-0026.

Yeah...you are right.
We canceled analog tv and two major carriers took those frequencies (t-mobile and vip)
Also, t-mobile released 402 so I could provide that for you...

It is interesting that after repair through PC companion I got different firmware, with different customization number (it is not 1281-0026 anymore). I bought my phone through Telenor, but it was unlocked, simfree version. Currently I'm on German generic, 1281-4640 ( I think ... ) and it gives me the best 3g (HSPA) speed of all the phones that I ever had, almost 21Mbps down ... Maybe you could upload stock music, photos and videos, since I am new to Android and all of those have been lost after repair through PC Comp ... :crying:
Sure mate...I just received all those three app s update.
I'll upload and send you box link...

Guys,
I am about to received my SGS 2 tomorrow.
I am in Australia on a 850mhz 3g (read not GSM) network (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Next_G)
I know the phone supports this band, but I see some region firmwares floating around and am wondering if ALL firmwares support this band? Or is firmware specific.
Thanks guys.
Im on VR1.1 with everything else stock and next g is cool with me. Preordered from UK so mines from release.

Can I ask how you know your on Next G and not just 3g?
You can use non 850mhz Bands with Telstra and get std 3g.
Well im just assuming. But where i live all my family get 1bar with optus/3/voda whereas i get full bars. If u have a way for me to check ill have a look

not really sure how to check, the best I could figure out is install Network Info II and check network type
Should be HSDPA/UMTS?
I cant seem to find any tool to tell you exact frequency the phone is using.
It is not firmware dependent (If someone buys a Vodaphone branded SGS2 it is still going to work with NextG, but it will probably just be SIM locked). NextG is HSPA noted by the 'H+' symbol. When I was on Three is was just 'H' which is HSPDA.
If you dial *#*#4636#*#* and go phone information -> menu key -> Select Radio Band -> AUS2 Band
AUS2 is NextG 850Mhz, so if you get internet access on that, it is running NextG. The Phone Information section will also tell you your current network protocol also. If it is reporting UMTS then click the 'run ping test' button, it will flick over to HSPA
Hspa when data is being used
Umts when data is inactive

Sorry to dig this post up from the grave, but I'm about to move my SGSii to Telstra, as well.
I was wondering if you found benefit to these changes, and if you've changed anything further since.
Have you found any particular ROM/modem to be better (either in reception or battery life) than others.
And, finally, what sort of battery life do you get? I get about 14 hours before I have to plug it in, but I get terrible reception at work (I'm currently on 3), so I'm thinking that might have something to do with it.
Thanks heaps.
Hello XDA
I'm having some trouble with my 3g connection when i'm at my hometown. I live in São Paulo (Brazil) and my 3g works fine but when i go back to my hometown i can only get EDGE signal.
At first i thought that the city didn't have 3g signal but i found out that my neighboor also has a X10 with the same ROM as mine (WBs) and he can get 3g on his phone.
The only difference between the two phones is that i got mine on amazon e he got his in a department store here
Thanks in advance
Im starting to worry about this, 80 views and no reply

It's the hardware. That's what I was concerned about.
Sorry bro... Only way to fix it is to get a new X10 or new carrier that supports the X10's frequencies.

That was my concern too
What i dont understand is why would my carrier use a frequency that makes my 3g works in some cities and another frequency in some other cities which is where i can't get 3g
I have a mopho and my carrier is gsm, before I could connect to the 3g network but since a couple of weeks it says that the selected network is unavailable, but if I do a scan I can see it, just cant connect to it, have tried with all the sbf files that i could found over the internet and with jokersax rom and his fixes with no luck. Does someone have a similar issue?
I can connect to the 2G network, the problem is just with the 3G (wcdma)

WOW, I have not heard the term WCDMA in almost 2 years! Could your problem be related to your Root or ROM? WCDMA is funny and I assume your in South Korea because thats the only place I know (or been) with WCDMA?
South Korea (which my AT&T Fuze did not work anyway. Job gave me loaner) and China have censorships, one day you have it, one day you dont?
Russia, Finland, Sweden, Norway (which have some remote areas) had better service than South Korea.
This is why you really don't here me complain much about Sprint!

Hey guys, I am in need of some help. I cannot seem to find the right keywords to return the search results I need.
I know there are plenty of battle tested Jellybean roms for the International (which I own). My problem is getting one that supports the kernels necessary for me to achieve service with my T-mobile provider her in America.
If anyone would be willing to link me to a JB Rom that will cure this ailment I would be deeply obliged.

I installed the i9300XXDLI6 (4.1.1) FIRMWARE and I still have the issue of forever roaming. I can select t-mobile as my network and it registers. However, I have the roaming r above my signal bars because my phone thinks I am out of my "international" coverage zone.
So I need a link to a leaked jellybean and or created jellybean firmware that will work with T-mobile service in the U.S.
Hence the reason why I made this post. It is very easy to find a jellybean firmware that will work on an i9300 for a person that lives in the UK. However it is proving very difficult to do the same for an i9300 owner in the U.S.
Any help would be much obliged.

I would have thought that the modem was the problem .
jje
I think your on to something here. I would love to know which modem will allow me to achieve service with T-mobile in America. I know personally that I can rule out the LFB and LG8 and LE8 modems. Any others you think are worth trying? Or do you know which one will for sure work? I have tried googling this before and was unable to yield any results. It would seem that owning a quad core phone for other T-mobile users in America was not a very high priority.

I am using Hot Mobile in Israel and have the same problem. I have tried the modem from the stock ROM with out any success which leads me to be believe the modem is NOT the issue. Anybody else have any ideas. I have the right CSC and the modem from stock ROM but it is stuck on roaming.
The hardware can only connect to certain frequencies, if your companies 3G band/s don't fall under those specific bands, you will ROAM or be on 2G...
You probably ARE roaming on AT&T or a small local GSM provider. A T-Mobile branded handset probably wouldn't show you that if they had a seamless roaming agreement. So you'd see E instead.
No matter what ROM you install on the i9300, it's not gonna fix your T-Mobile problem.

Shouldn't make a difference if you have an international factory unlocked GT-I9300. I originally had AT&T service which was roaming all of the time due to no coverage in my area. I dropped AT&T for a local pre-paid service which is owned by t-mobile, I am no longer roaming (on any rom i've flashed, custom or official). If you have an unlocked i9300, ANY rom in these forums will work on any carrier as long as you have the right sim card.
Power phone off, remove sim card. Power phone on for a few minutes. Pull battery for 30 seconds, reinsert sim card, insert battery, boot phone. Don't know much else you could do. Modem is not the issue if you are getting signal.
BTW, there are plenty of U.S. TMO gt-i9300 owners here, your the first to mention any issue like this.
Yupp plenty of US Tmobile GT-I9300 users on 2G. Hardware DOES NOT SUPPORT THE RIGHT BANDS...

I'm using omega. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663656
So your using Omega, you live in America you have T-mobile, and yet you don't have a little r above your signal bars that means your roaming?

But when I didn't have root the roaming was never there. Or when I rooted and flashed the stock firmware I didn't have it. I don't think it is an issue of my data roaming or my phone not having service in my area. I'm not sure what it is but it has not always been there and only returns when I try to put a cool Rom on it like Omega or Viking.

Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I actually have a different problem. TMobile in Seattle has repurposed their 1900Mhz band for 3g. I've verified this by putting in my sim into an optimus 2 that has no support for 1700MHz, and I was able to connect to 3g fine. On my i9300, it just doesn't go above edge. I've played around with the radio forcing it to do WCDMA only, and the darn thing just wouldn't connect. The phone is mostly stock, I flashed it with CWM recovery, and SuperNexus. It's running the i9300XXLH1 baseband which it had when I got the phone. I still get edge and the reception is definitely a modest improvement over an aging nexus one which this replaced.
I think 1900 works in LA/San Francisco as well - if any of you guys have been able to connect to tmobile 3G on a i9300, can you share your config? Worst case, I think I should just try what the ATT guys are using, but any pointers before I start this wild goose chase will be useful :good:

I realize that the T999 version offers the best national coverage, but they've started work on refarming the frequency in Seattle. An optimus 2x which supports a subset of 3g bands of the i9300 was able to connect to tmobile 3g using my same sim card. I couldn't find a better news source, but this site says what Ive seen: okay, I can't post a url here, but the first google result for tmobile 1900mhz seattle. Basically, any AT&T 3g phone should work on tomobile in my area since the optimus experiment was successful.

Bought it on release from Negri Electronics in Las Vegas.
Have been using it on AT&T in San Jose/San Francisco. 3G works really well, even on Caltrain which was always a nightmare before.
No issues with calls or data service on the C6802 for me. And updates are coming through fine, I installed 526 last night.

Call quality is perfectly fine, the device is large so you won't be using it too often I think, once you know where the sweetspot is to place it on your ear it is completely fine.

I ran the auto-network setup and the APN was configured correctly right away.
Settings -> [wireless & Networks] more -> Internet Settings -> ATT
That was it.
Getting 13Mbps down, 1.1Mbps up, 68ms ping according to speediest.net
Easiest phone setup ever for me.
Very very easy to setup. Exactly like what you said. Just put in your sim card (Phone off). Turn it on and go to setting and download the Internet setting. Works fantastic for me. Getting 22down 41 ping. On AT&T.

I'm using this with AT&T outside of Portland Oregon. The data connectivity is just fine on H+. Call quality is good and no issues to report. Many folks state that the audio is muffled or distorted due to the membrane in place for waterproofing but I can't confirm that in my own experiences. Crystal clear here.
