you can use flashtool to flash kernel only from a FTF or you can use a custom recovery to backup and restore later

I used Mobile odin pro flash XX.zar
but it can not open XX.zar maybe it only can flash.tar
you need root to use mobile Odin
Edit.I'm guessing you used the new root only cf?
Flash a recovery using mobile Odin pro and you're done.
Does cwm backup kernel also?
If I install a custom kernel. Can I go back to stock one? If yes, how?

u need ruverbridge to backup kernel
I managed to create a stock firmware ftf with flashtool using the files that pc companion downloaded. But my last attempt at creating one for the kernel wasn't successful. Just thought it may be useful to me later.
Does anyone know how to do it?
