I use MX Player on stock ROM 4.2.1.
Whenever I use H/W decoder it gives normal colours but video seeking/skipping is extremely slow. While S/W decoder gives somewhat darker colours but I can seek/skip video very fast...no delay at all.
*I watched 480p/720p/1080p mp4 videos downloaded from YouTube.
Which decoding mode is better for CHD? I googled and couldn't really understand which mode is better.
Also which mode is better for audio playback in MX Player?
I suggest you to use s/w decoder and adjust the brightness. It would give u a flawless movie experience. And also u never gets audio or subtitle lags in s/w

i prefer s/w decoder it can double up the volume as well
H/w use the GPU ans the CPU instead only the CPU if i remember well. H/w is better, if the vidéo si well encoding there is no lag with
S/W decoder is great along with Huge votes.

The stock one has horrible sound quality. I hope it's not because of the hardware/speakers.

For videos, i use either mVideoPlayer or Mobo Player ( mobo only for the software decoding, when the stock one or mVideoPlayer doesn't show subs on some of my mkvs... but for this, i blame the encoder, not the app )
for now, i'm satisfied with the stock player for music (mp3 or flac) even if it only shows what it is capable of when used with headphones.
I started using MK Video Player. It plays everything. It has clean and intuitive controls as well. Swipe up and down on the left side of the screen to adjust brightness, swipe up and down on the right to adjust volume, swipe left and right to skip back and forth in the video.
for videos I use stock player
for mp3 i use TTPod and ZPlayer (which has windows 7 like interface) oNly problem with ZPlayer is there is no exit and sometimes we have to kill the process

meridian has a feature that let's you pick between portrait and landscape for your video playback

thanks, but i'm looking for some kind of hack for default video player, not a different media player.

What settings are you using to get the optimal results? Coz if i select high bit rate and other stuff, the video is not playable and the lgcamera itself gets stuck ( the current display of camera gets stuck all the others button respond including the recording stop)
I boght a dvr usb camera type R0003 L2 (sorry i can't post a photo you can search it on ebay).
now i'm using car record app but it has no options to configurate so the video is low quallity. - search R0003 L2 usb camera on youtube i uploaded a femo video.
can you recommend me some other app witch start recording with startup and works in the background.

it says it can't start record because the settings are wrong.
i can live view the picture and the settings are on lowest quallity
with this app am able to record at 720p, but 10fps, at 480p I can with 30, go to setting and change it to advance and try same my settings as below
vid res: 1280x720
vid encoder: h.264
vid framerate: 10/30 what ever u like
vid encoding: bitrate 6000kbps
audio quality: disabled
is it possible to add another camera for the back?
On S9+ exynos while i play the hdr videos on native player, youtube and even on mx player the colors don't really look that punchy to me and the whole screen switches to basic color mode when the video is played.
My screen mode is on adaptive display the resolution is set to wqhd+ and video enhancer is on

Yes. Almost the same here. Except mine flickers on and off randomly or when I bring up YouTube UI.

Have you tried playing the video with native or mx player?
Got two units one S9 and one s9+ both Qualcomm devices and both preform the same as you state, like yellowish tint or washed colors (only on HDR videos no matter what I used Netflix or youtube), I compared with my S8 and it looks stunning I think this is a software issue and Samsung should be aware of this
