I just wanted to share my experience on activating and installing Galaxy gear 2 smart watch using Galaxy Player 5.0 International version.
Tested on Meticulus Beanstalk ROM and Carbon ROM.
To pair and activating Gear 2 using Galaxy Player 5.0 I followed instruction on this forum thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2723862
Plus:
I managed to activate gear 2 and pair with galaxy player 5.0, using method mention on the thread link above.
Minus:
Cannot use all of feature offered by Gear 2 and Gear manager Apps.
To install apps or .wgt I use Tizen SDB tools
To push app/wgt to gear 2 use command prompt and navigate to sdb folder and type : sdb install app_name.wgt
To uninstall app/wgt it's a bit complicated, you have to know the app ID, to find app ID you have to rename .wgt to .zip and open the zip file. Inside zip file, find and open config.xml. The app id look something like this : <tizen:application id="ZYdli9xE8s" >
Then command prompt type: sdb uninstall ZYdli9xE8s. Replace ZYdli9xE8s with application ID you wish to uninstall.
Changing clock face it's same as installling apps/wgt. I download my clock face from Gear Faces and push the .wgt to my gear 2.
Hope this information will help other people to activate Galaxy Gear 2 using Glaxy Player 5.0. I will update this thread if I manage to find a way to run Gear manager on my SGP 5.0.

This was the greatest hack for the Samsung Note 2014 which was lifted from the 12" Samsung tablets...
You'll need to have root.....
Download the tools.zip file below:
Inside are 3 files:
com.sec.feature.multiwindow.freestylelaunch
com.sec.feature.multiwindow.quadview
com.sec.feature.multiwindow.scaleapp
Place these three files in System/Etc/Permissions with the permissions of rw-r--r-- and reboot
Next download MW Apps Manager from the Play Store to add more multiwindow apps
- Add the programs you'll want to multitask with (some work better then others), save then reboot
Winning tablet!
(credits)
These files were originally provided by Samsung for use on their tablets.
To xperiacle for creating MultiWindow PLUS which these files are pulled from.
And to thachosenone for creating a zip file of the above persons work.
I gave this a try and for the most part it is working on my 8.4 S. An issue I see in comparison to your screenshot is that I do not have the "blue-dot." When I open a window it opens just like a window. Did I set something up incorrectly?
I dunno, if you did what was listed then no. Perhaps the 8.4 is setup differently then the 10.5? It would be nice if others can give this a try to confirm.

I have the 8.4. I think that set up is different as I have no problems. I get the blue dot. I think youre in windows view not multi view.
Fantastic! I donated to the MWM developer and requested Tab S support and it's here in quads! I see no reason to research tablets further as a 32GB version of the Tab S is now in radar lock.

I'd be nice to get the proper credit. Check where you got it. I was the one who posted the zip
How to get the four windows?
Got root. Changed permissions. Put files where directed. Have multiwindow app. Rebooted.
But...how do you get more than two windows? Dragging a third or fourth app from Multiwindow toolbar does not seem to work for me.
A bit of help, please! Thanks.
Recheck your work, if not then try again.
Apply permissions once the files are in place, reboot.

If you're rooted, you don't need multi window plus, just install xposed framework, and wanam xposed. Wanam xposed has the option to add things in multi window.
I have Multi WIndow App manager, but when I tried to install Multiwindow Plus, it gave me an error saying it was not compatible with my ROM. I see where it had the four window option, but it just would not install (tried several times)
Will the four windows pop up automatically? Do I start with two and then drag more on the screen, or what?
BTW, I did copy the files to the folder and then changed permissions to rw-r-r, and then did reboot.
I will try the other methodology, but still was wondering why I could not get this to work as in the directions.

You wouldn't need the multiwindow plus app if you just installed these files.
You'll only need the app manager to add more apps to the sidebar.
Roll it all back and start over

I just got my Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and have read a few posts online saying people had mixed success with rooting. I would really like to avoid bricking my device. Does anyone have explicit instructions that they have done to root their galaxy tab s 10.5? Perhaps this is not the right thread, but I can't seem to find it on the forum.
Thanks in advance

Any help with the link
Edit never mind guys I found it thanks work great thanks a lot
Hi,
Thank you for this trick.
I just made a flashable zip with zipme app from playstore.
Tried it and flashed well with TWRP.
Wow! Wow! Wow! (Kate Bush theme song)
Wow! Its unbelievable.
Brilliant trick. I can understand why they limit this - the RAM requirements for 4 apps may exceed what devices have when they have <2GB RAM. Having 3GB RAM was a great decision (by me ! when I decided to go for the tab-s).
Now I can enjoy having lots of windows to stare out of.
Superb work.

Is it possible to have the full script in text ?
You also have the option to bring it back Previous state
I don't own a PC and my only work computer is a mac. Commands would be really helpful and much appreciated!
is there a way to reverse this without having to wipe anything?
This feature will be in the next version.

I don't really understand the purpose of this script. Does it allow notifications on the gear S with CM12.1 installed? Please add directions on what I need to install on my samsung phone to utilize my gear s after running this script.

Dood you should really read the thread properly. This script is for standalone use of Gear S. Not flashing another rom or anything. If you use it as standalone device, then there is no need to sync it to a cellphone. This script is therefore designed to optimise battery life on tizen...

Question does it just make the screen go away that requires you to be connected to a samsung phone (screen pops up about not being connected to phone or something) thus enabling access to News/Weather/Contacts or does it do something else?
anybody has unlocked the email app??
Hi, new samsung gear apks, both 2.2.20 & 2.2.21, have new assets folder and resource.xml and rules.xml files in it. In rules.xml i have added the codes nonSamsungphones=true. I just changed the original rules file with 7zip. Edited with notepad++. Signed with Advanced ApkTool 4.2.0. Also signed SAsystemproviders, accessory services, gearmodule, gear plugin and a few apks and installed them too. Program could detect the Gear S and pair with it. But Endless Connecting issue appeared. Tried to adb logdata and see things but nothing for me.
My phone is xiaomi mi note 3. Still hopes to use gear s with my phone. I think a more skilled user could solve the puzzle. Best wishes and regards for any progress.
Can you upload somewhere this modified app ? and we are talking about Gear S (SM-R750) watch i hope
Sorry, just saw the message. Yeah it was sm-r750. I dont know where are the files for now, It was not working by the way. Soon probably i will try again with new apks. Maybe i can make it clear this time.
Tutorial - Gear S for Samsung Note 8.0 N5120 "tablet" phone on android 4.4.2
There are existing threads for non samsung devices but it's a samsung tablet. And a samsung phone....?! anyway hope this helps someone.
I spent a lot of time, trial and error making this go on my note 8.0 "samsung galaxy note phone", here is what I found
I had to factory reset the phone before things would work, changes are the minimum required. But they didn't work before a factory reset in my case.
Basically it would get stuck on pairing with phone (S3) or connecting to phone (S) before the phone factory reset.
If you can't get things to work you may need to clear cache or copy fingerprints etc from N7105 build.prop to build.prop as I did this many times. But I think the following is what is really required as a minimum.
1. build.prop edits required
2. stock 4.4.2 touchwiz used with no removed apps. (You can install root, twrp and xposed at least, and it doesn't seem to care)
3. copy gearmanagerstub from N7105 4.4.2 rom (note 2)
1. The minimum build.prop edits required are
ro.product.model=GT-N7105
*ro.build.characteristics=phone
*In /data/data/com.samsung.android.app.watchmanager/files/rules.xml there is a reference to
<item supportTabler="false">Gear S</item>
If you edit this to true you can now see the gear when build.prop says you have a tablet. Also works with S3.
If the product model is not changed the gear S will not connect
If the characteristic is not a phone, a gear S or S3 will not connect
If the characteristic is a phone, the phone crashes on incoming or outgoing calls. You can't end the outgoing call when it crashes!
If both are already paired, they disappear once build.prop is changed back to = tablet for example. ("no gear devices" under connect new devices, connecting does not fail to existing paired device)
But you can get around the characteristic problem with the rules.xml file.
3. get gearmanagerstub
you can download the N7105 rom and extract using tar convert system.img using simg2img then mount the fixed system.img and gearmanagerstub is under /apps, not sure which version it is or if it matters. Mine is v. "14.03.12" according to manifest, buildinfo is "20170105" version value "12149750"
I used rom N7105XXSFQA5_N7105VFGFNE1_N7105BUUFND1_HOME.tar (VOD-N7105XXSFQA5_N7105VFGFNE1-20170105.zip)
The right order to do this all in?
1. Edit build.prop to include both edits, copy gearmanagerstub apk across
2. factory reset.
3. Create or sign into samsung account.
4. Open galaxy apps, allow all updates.
5. Install gear wearables from the galaxy app store (won't show without at least the build.prop tablet->phone edit, you may need additional edits to get it to work? I don't want to try again, but originally I had most build properties set as N7105 version).
6. Get your gear S paired. Wait for all updates it installs.
7. Then edit rules.xml, and
8. change build.prop back to =tablet. (should now only have 1 edit left, ro.product.model=GT-N7105)
9. Now select under settings use remote connection.
It works! And phone calls work! Find my gear beeps the device while bluetooth is off on wifi and receives notifications. 3g also works after I fixed the apn. Notifications arrive over 3g within a couple of seconds.
Version of apps left installed at the end / I noticed updated (they all installed by themselves)

I am trying to install a watchface taken from Amazfit Watchfaces, but the procedure explained on that website is not compatible with Android 11 and above as it says, and probably with the new Amazfit devices neither.
Being specific, folders mentioned in the guide that should be found on the smartphone are not there.
I can find some folders that look to be their replacement, but they are empty while there should be the default watchfaces.
Is there a new method compatible with the latest Android and Amazfit/Zepp versions?
Open https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazfitwatchfaces.st app, select fifth tab at the bottom, select +Add file, actually select your downloaded dial file. Select you watch model, click on Connect button then finally tap Install button.
