[Q] How to change navigation voice on GS5? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

I've tried settings>language and input>text-to-speech options and changing the voice there, but the GPS voice still is the same. Any ideas?

I downloaded the free app called Ivona text to speech. The voices are free to download while it's in beta so act fast. I changed the tts settings in my phone to Ivona and Google maps is using the voice from it. Much better voice than what Google had in there. Make sure you force stop Google maps or restart your phone to get the changes made.

Baring some unexpected bug.. just change the TTS library, then select a new voice. If Ivona didn't work for you, then try the SVOX TTS library or one of the other TTS packages instead.
SVOX classic TTS
Install the new library, then go to Settings > General > Language and Input > Text-to-speech options and choose SVOX.

[Q] Text-to-Speech (TTS) Force Closes In CM7

I installed CM7 build 08082011 on my Inspire 4G, and I've been using it for a few months and TTS has never worked (Navigation, Speaktoit, Voice Dialer etc.); it always FCs.
I've tried v. 2.0 and 3.1.
Any ideas?
Tts need voice search.apk as well. Do you have it?

I do; and Voice Search works well actually. Voice Dialer however has never worked; it pops up and never says anything (i.e. "Speak Now"), and doesn't take my commands either.
I had force close last time. But I forgotten that I've frozen my tts library or anything about voice command. Once I defroze, everything works.

I'll mess around with that and get back.
Okay, apparently there's an app called TTS Service. I had it uninstalled for some reason. I restored it (thank you TB) and everything's awesome.

Default Navigation app to open up in Voice Talk

Greetings,
I have iGO installed (AT&T SGS2) which I want to use as my default navigation.
I used Titanium Backup to freeze AT&T Navigation (I cannot seem to find an app called "navigation", it has a blue arrow). So now when I use Voice Talk to 'navigate', Google Maps opens up.
Is there a way to change the default to iGO?
Thanks.
Bump - anyone?!
I am shocked that no one knows.

Getting bt voice command to launch google now instead of s voice

Find some tutorials to get google voice to replace s voice as the application triggered by voice command intent with bt...but I can't seem to get it running perfectly.
Installed bluetooth launch
Disabled s voice from app manager
This enables me to select a new default app for the voice command intent.
I have two options
Bt launch and google search
Google search launches the voice dialer which is not what I want
With bt launch I selected voice search activity under google search and it seems to launch the right app except it's stuck at initializing.
Anyone use the same setup and manage to get it to work?

I did, but i can found it as an app or a service! and I did disable/uninstall some services that i thought it might be that, it didn't work
If you have TIBU then you can chose the app and then freeze it.

Google maps voice sounds weird?

I just switched to mate 20 pro from pixel 2 2 days ago, I noticed that google maps sounds different on my mate 20, I can change it to English US instead of default(im in canada) and it will sound almost the same, but then it wouldnt speak the street name like it would on my pixel 2, is there anyway to fix it?
thanks!
In the Google app the settings for voice and language & region should be separate. Are you changing the settings in Google or in Maps?
You could also go into the accessibility menu and make sure that the default text to speech engine is Google.
Maps is a Google app so the voice should be the same on the M20P and Pixel unless you have something set differently. The voice is always the same for me regardless of what phone I'm using.
