Hello
I have a rooted Samsung S2 (i9100). I recently purchased an LG G2 phone, and there are a number of apps I want to transfer - including their data - from the Samsung to the LG. However, the latter is not rooted (and I can't root it, because of workplace restrictions), which precludes using Titanium Backup or such. The Samsung is using Android 4.1.2 with a custom ROM and the LG is running Android 4.4.2 with the stock ROM.
I tried using Helium, but it doesn't work on the Samsung for some reason, when I connect my PC to the Helium server running on the Samsung and try to backup apps, I get a virtually empty ZIP file. Complicating the issue, I can't connect the Samsung to the PC using the USB port, as its USB port is malfunctioning (I can charge using it, but the PC doesn't recognize the phone), leaving WiFi as the only option for connection.
So to summarize, I need an app which does the following:
1) Backs up applications including data on a rooted phone.
2) Does not require a USB connection between the source phone and a PC.
3) Allows installation of the app, including data, on a different unrooted phone.
Does anyone know of an app which can do this?
Thanks

Hi everyone,
I am in some trouble. I have accidentally deleted all my photos from my Samsung Galaxy S2 before a couple of hours. They were stored in Camera folder of my phone Gallery. Plus I have deleted one hidden folder as well which contained my personal data (videos) which was very important.
I know I should have been more careful, but I cant help it now. I searched on internet about how can I recover my lost data, but didn't come to any conclusion. Now, you guys on this forum are my last hope to get my data back if I can.
Is there ANY way its possible to recover the data that I have deleted? Please let me know guys, I need your expertise to resolve this problem.
I am having Samsung Galaxy S2 [GT-I9100 model] [ Android version: 2.3.3]
Thanks a million...

Hi Jokesy,
Thanks a lot for the link. I went through it, I installed that software as well. but the problem is that, the software shows ONLY my computer hard drive. it just doesn't show my mobile disk.
Means, I have connected my mobile through the USB cable. So it shows "connected" on my mobile screen. But that software just doesn't pick it up. I can restore the files that I have deleted from my PC but not from my mobile. I haven't kept the option for USB debugging ON, its OFF. But I am not sure if that has anything to do with this. Because when I tried with USB debugging: ON, it still doesn't show my mobile storage in the software console. I don't have any external SD card, I have lost my data from my PHONE memory, the one we get inbuilt [11GB].
Is there a way I can make the software detect my phone memory and try to restore my deleted data? Any help would be appreciated

You need to connect your phone as mass storage.
Enable USB debugging under application settings, then reconnect your phone again to your Pc

I did that, but for some reasons, its just not showing my mobile as external storage. It just shows me 2 new drives like Removable Disk H: and Removable Disk I:. But when I click on them it asks me to "please insert a disk into drive". So basically when I do the debugging: ON, my phone is not getting detected a a storage unit. But on the phone it says that "USB Connected, select the files to copy from your computer". But the photorec software, still doesn't pick it up.
Is there anything that I am missing? Attaching the snapshots... :crying:
Do you really know how to use your mobile phone?
When you connect your phone, open your notification drawer and turn on USB storage!

Got it now, I am so sorry. Stressed up
Will let you know how it goes...
Way to copy & paste from here (Yes it was that obvious the words weren't yours).
When you deleted something in your phone, first remember not to use your phone again, including text, calling, and try to recover the data you want first. After that, you may use you phone.
I also recommend using google drive and google+. All my photos and videos are there. 15 gigs on standard and if you download quickoffice on your device and link with google drive u will receive another 5 or 10 gigs. I presume 20 -25 Gb is more than enough. The best part ? A good wi-fi connection and google drive installed on the PC and phone and you can access your files anywhere. Add astro file manager for transfering files from internal memory to google drive and viceversa.

Have you gone to Google play store and done a search for "undelete".
I have accidentally deleted stuff in the past and this worked for me. I can't remember which on I used... Will search and edit it in. undeleter by fahrbot. I even shelled out for the premium version. So must have liked it.
Hello All,
I ran into a couple of issues suddenly after I "OK"ed one of the updates.
Since then, I started having issues with the USB charging and USB Mass Storage and not to mention the "Vlingo" app.
=================================
Phone : Samsung Galaxy S II (GT - I9100G)
Operating System : ICS - 4.0.4
Kernel : 3.0.8-1074650
Build Number : IMM76D.XXLPZ
=================================
Let me explain the issue and what is the status so far :
Issue 1)
-- I believe, I just said "OK" to the update when I was using another app and this [OK Cancel] box popped up for a software update
-- The phone was working fine and was being detected by the PC whenever I used to plug-in with USB cable.
-- Noticed that the phone was not getting charged (no beep and the battery charging symbol) and also not getting detected on the PC
-- Tried enabling USB storage too. Did not help
I installed one more 40.75 Mb Android update and the charging issue resolved. The phone then did display the symbol of it getting charged when plugged in, but no beep.
Issue 2)
-- After installing the 40.75 Mb update, the Vlingo app started misbehaving.
-- Whenever I plug-in the phone to PC using USB cable, Vlingo keeps popping up and it thinks it is in "Drive Mode"
-- Some threads suggested installing 'Go Launcher' to uninstall the app. I did not do that.
Issue 3)
-- Not sure if the issue is with the software or hardware, but the phone is not detected in PC using USB
-- As a USB mass storage or otherwise (windows pop-up)
-- Tried with different original USB cables and different PCs and different ports, did not help
-- Although, Galaxy S III was recognized instantly!
-- Suspicion :: Is this a bug with any of the updates as the phone was working fine hours before that. Is anyone aware of it ?
Issue 4)
-- The phone is not rooted and I do not have any backup softwares installed software.
-- Which software can I use to backup the data on the phone. I can transfer the "apk"
-----------------------------------------
++ I would like to install the Jelly Bean update, it's already downloaded via wi-fi I guess (around 467 Mb) file
++ Before installing this update, I would like to backup the phone data
++ Can it be that the phone can be charged via USB but cannot be detected via USB_MASS_STORAGE
++ Can I install the "Titanium Backup" or similar software to backup the data
-----------------------------------------
Please help me troubleshoot these issues.
Thanks,
Sam

Of course, Titanium Backup is the best choice. Use that to backup all your data, and reflash a new firmware or ROM. I personally like custom Roms more since they give more customization options, speed, and stability.
If you need a apk to Titanium Backup, feel free to pm me for it, I have a copy of it.
If there are anymore questions, I will answer you to the best of my ability.

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (GT-P7500 model), current Android version 3.1. The tablet works fine, but it has some issues with synchronization.. It doesn't sync to any Google account (I tried 4 different accounts). Whenever I try to download some app from GooglePlay, I get an error (beginning with RPC:S-7:AEC-0). I can't update the firmware, because the tablet can't seem to communicate with the server, and I can not connect the tablet to a PC because it doesn't have the regular USB connector. All I have available is WiFi access and some adapter that allows me to connect a USB stick to the tablet and transfer some files on it.
Before I came here, I searched the web for solutions, and none of them seems to work (clearing cache, removing and re-adding accounts, factory reset).
So, with that in mind, the only solution that I can think of is to try to update the hardware offline, meaning to put the hardware update on an USB stick, transfer it to my tablet and run it locally. Is that possible? If so, please hook me up with a valid firmware for my tablet.
My LM-G850EMW isn't rooted or anything but i am having problems with transferring data using USB cable.
When i use photo transferr it works fine but when i just choose data transferr it will not connect to the
PC at all. Anyone else have this issue aswell? The phone is on Android 10.
Anyone have tips to get normal data transferr going?
install the LG universal driver for mobile phones.
You will get it directly from LG
Hello everyone.
Please, I would need your help to the following issue I have.
I have a pretty old cell phone: Samsung Galaxy GT-S7580. And I want to backup sms messages, but only locally on PC.
Samsung's smart switch does not support this model.
Samsung's Kies does support it. I installed Kies on PC, and I have indeed backuped up on PC: contacts (SIM+device), S-Planner and calling log. The only one that it's missing is sms messages backup.
Although Kies util does have this option of sms backup, when I tap on it, it does not make the backup. I do not know why there is this option there.
Cell's phone Android version is 4.2.2, which cannot be updated (max that can be done).
I have tried also Coolmuster Android Assistant program, but, unfortunately, it does not support specific model.
Can you please help me backup up the sms messages locally?
Thank you for your time!

Thank you for your answer. The problem is that the program cannot find the device (cell phone). When trying connect, cannot detect it.
It's very strange, because Kies from Samsung does detect it, and also, Windows explorer displays it as device, and with double clicking, I can see phone's contents/data.
You need to install MyPhoneExplorer Client on your phone, which communicates with MyPhoneExplorer on windows.
Everything is described at www.fjsoft.at

Hi!
I think that it's possible that your phone may not be compatible with MyPhoneExplorer. In this case, you could try a different backup app that supports your device.
Thanks again for quick answer. The problem is that phone is completely full and out of space. I cannot install application (lient).
Even if I try to uninstall a util/program from phone, what I have understood and come in inclusion all these years is that when from cell phones (as far as it concerns Play Store and Android), so, when uninstalling, in truth nothing happens. Nothing I mean no truly files of "uninstalling" application is removed. All application files stay on phone, and in truth, the only thing that is being removed is application icon. No space is being gaind with "uninstall".
See if you can do sms backup through google service.
https://guidebooks.google.com/android/getstarted/backupyourmessages
I do not want to use Google or any other cloud backup provider. I want to use hard drive locally PC backup and restore.
I agree that MyPhoneExplorer is not compatible with my phone. Would you have any other application that would help for locally backup/restore?
I checked in a device with android 4.1.2 and everything works fine.
- check what applications you have installed
adb shell pm list packages
- identify them and determine the unnecessary ones
- uninstall, for example:
adb shell pm uninstall com.ivona.tts.voicebeta.fra.fra.celine
Once you free up space, install the old version of the client, start MyPhoneExplorer on your PC, connect via USB to your phone and let MyPhoneExplorer update the client version on your phone to the version appropriate for your phone.
These commands: where should I execute them? On a Linux PC? And when:
a. First have connected PC and phone with USB cable and
b. Then on PC (if Linux) I execute them?
Or somewhere else? Please, if you don't mind, a little more help would appreciate.
On your phone, activate USB debugging.
Download SDK Platform-Tools for your OS
Connect the phone to your PC with a USB cable
Confirm access on the phone
Check in the terminal on the PC the visibility of the phone by adb devices
Execute the remaining commands.
I have found the way to execute adb commands.
Now, there is other problem. Insufficient space for application.
I try apps to uninstall, but no result. 1-1 and try to install, with no result. The 3-rd party apps I have installed are with small size. So, 1 by 1 uninstalling has no result, and I lose time.
2 applications with big size that maybe would be the solution to uninstall, unfortunately are not third party. They are system. These 2 are:
Galaxy Apps
YouTube
If I uninstall them (I have no problem unistalling, I do not use them on old Galaxy), so, if I uninstall them, would it make any s/w damage to phone (maybe no startup later)?
I know that I will use Motorola new phone now, but just in case I need something in old phone some day. So, with these two uninstall, I would be ok or not?
If the system allows you to uninstall system applications, it actually enables you to return to the initial version.
This is also a benefit, because there will be smaller versions.
By far, thing are better.
I made space on Samsung. I installed MyPhoneExplorer on Samsung, Motorola and Windows.
First, I backed up from Samsung contacts + SMS on two files respectively. Then, I run MyPhoneExplorer on Motorola.
I restored contacts on Motorola. It worked fine.
The only problem I have is that SMS cannot be sent to Motorola. When I try to send them (try to restore) on Motorola, on internal storage or in e.g. sent folder for a sent SMS, I get error message: "Messages could not be sent".
Seems like something on Motorola is locked, and stops SMS restore/transferring. Or maybe a setting on Motorola settings or on the application is the solution.
Or maybe I make something wrong to the SMS restore procedure.
Ok. Everything worked perfect.
With SDK platform tools, and "MyPhoneExplorer" and "SMS Backup & Restore" apps, I backed up and restored everything to new Motorola Moto G32.
Your advice was extremely helpful!! Thank you so much!!
In order not open another post, I think that my last problem/question fits to this one.
It's about last backup and restore I want to make from old Samsung to new Motorola. It has to do with Samsung's calendar which is S Planner.
problem is :
a. I want to make the backup not via Google. As above-mentioned for other backups (sms, contact, call log). With a 3rd party app. And not via Kies. Kies will make the backup from Samsung, but it can't be used on Motorola. Have already tried use on Motorola, but Kies is working just on Samsung. So, have you any app to suggest for S Planner backup on old Samsung Android 4.2.2, and, at the same time, be used as a restore app for Motorola?
b. If a. is solved, difficult b. now is that S Planner calendar, as an app, is only for Samsung phones. So, I am trying to find a calendar app alternative to S Planner, to install on Motorola, in order to restore there the calendar backup I will have got from my old Samsung.
Would REALLY appreciate your help!
