i installed this rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658344
i downloaded the official nightly and wiped system and data and installed gapps
everything works fine
but i don't have the camera app in my app-drawer
although i have it in system/app and i tried clicking on it and it reinstalled the camera but still it doesn't exist in my appdrawer!?
i have an LG p768 and i installed the camera patch but i don't know if it is compatible with CM11?!
also i wanted to say that i installed google camera and it said cannot connect to camera so i guess the patch did not work.
but i was just interested to know why the camera app did not show up in my appdrawer
also wanted to say that in one of the screenshots of the thread above you can see the camera shortcut in the homescreen (which i did not have when i flashed the rom)!!
repply
try with this patch, i always use it and works fine
hit thanks if solve your problem

i don't why but i have this problem only in the Mokee rom. (other roms work fine and camera works perfect)
i installed the rom with the instructions then i installed supersu.zip and p768-camera.zip and booted the rom.
but no matter what i tried to do i can't see the camera in app-drawer.
i can see it in system/app and i even tried installing it (by clicking on it) and still nothing.
i really love this rom but i can't use my it without having the camera.

You have a unlocked bootloader?? If you had you don't need flash the zip for su access, come in the rom...maybe the cause of your error is for this, try wiping cache, dalvij cache, system and if you are in artas CWM, go to mount and storage and choose the last option named as "fotmat data and data media (storage/sdcard) this solved various problems for me, and reinstall without the su zip only the rom, gapps and the patch. Reboot and tell me

and also i don't think i have artas cwm cause i don't have the option you wrote (format data and data/media) so can you please give me a link to artas CWM and i'll try again. and yes i have an unlocked bootloader.
does artas recovery work on p768?
also i will try to install another kitkat rom to see if camera apears there or not.
P.S: thank you for your help

just wanted to say that i tried another kitkat rom called "SOKP"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-l9/development/p760-765-768-t2812133/post54154388
and the camera worked there.
so i don't think that the problem is in the fix.
i'm gonna wait for an update to mokee rom and see if it fixes the camera.

Follow these steps.
1) First you need to download and copy these two ROM zip files to your SD Card. The download links are given below.
a) (Note: Add (https) then //) before you enter the address which is given below in the address bar for downloading the file.)
|
V
dl.dropbox.com/u/61884099/hybrom_v10.zip
b) (Note: Add (www) then (.) before you enter the address which is given below in the address bar for downloading the file.)
|
V
mediafire.com/?32i7l0w4hpfzx81
2) Switch Off your phone and flash the latest GB Stock Firmware (GB !4.0.2.A.0.62) by using Flash Tool.
You will get this Stock Firmware from here. If you have already downloaded the file, skip this download.
(Note: Add (www) then (.) before you enter the address which is given below in the address bar for downloading the file.)
|
V
mediafire.com/?ervpg54922b9c0p
3) After that don't switch on your mobile. Download and extract the kernel file which i attached with this post (kernel_coconut-v4.zip) and flash it
via Fastboot Mode in Flash Tool.
4) After that switch on your mobile and press the volume down button to enter the CWM Menu and do these things.
a) wipe data/factory reset
b) wipe cache partiton
c) wipe Dalvik Cache
5) After that Do 'Install zip from sdcard' and select hybrom_v10.zip file from your sdcard which you downloaded and copied to your SDCard
earlier.
6) When the installation complete, restart your phone. You will see that your touch is partially working !! Don't waste your time by checking
Touchscreen. Switch off your mobile by remove the battery and put it again.
7) Switch on your mobile and boot into CWM Mode again. Don't do these things(wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partiton and wipe Dalvik
Cache) again for installing new zip from SDCard. (I'll tell the reason later )
Do 'Install zip from sdcard' and select hybroman_v12.zip file from your sdcard which you downloaded and copied to your SDCard
earlier.
8) After the Installation restart your phone and wait for booting into new ROM hybrom v12. Now you can see that your Touchscreen Issue is
solved !!!!
Optional:
If you are facing wifi problem just flash the zip file via CWM (coconut_wlan_v4.zip) which is atteched with this post.
If you are not satisfied with hyvrom v12, you can also flash again the Stock Firmware or any other ROM which only supported by LWW
Cheers and Don't forget to hit the THANKS. Sorry for my bad English

What is this touch issue? How does installing hybrom fix it? What if you dont want hybrom?

Reason of Touchscreen issue
My Wt19i touchscreen is damaged when i installed rom kernel and rom. But it was solved when i installed hybrom v10 and after hybrom v12 with x kernel. That is why i posted the solution here.

Flashing back to stock didnt fix it? Because if its not a HW issue then flashing to stock give you back your stock files and kernel so then your touch should be working again. Flashing hybrom v10 then v12 will do nothing other than give you the files of that rom.
What was the rom you installed that broke your touch? There are only two possible reasons for that to happen, 1, you had a corrupt .zip file, or 2, you flashed a rom and kernel that was not for your device.

Evil..

Then i installed hybrom v12 over it without wiping any user data and dalvick cache. Voila it was worked !!! that is why i posted that solution here.
Anyway you just try this solution when you have this touchscreen problem.

This is a fix only for who is installing custom ROMs without custom kernel. To install recovery, search for it.
I have had a problem, after flashing Rom, before flashing your zips I wiped cache, and started this problem in recovery:
Can't mount CACHE/recovery/log
then after flashing your zips phone stuck reboting at logo sony, so I have to start from zero, do you know why have that ocurred, is it because wiping cache?

for the xperia sspeed rom for example, you can also use the stock kernel, but why can't i use it for cm10?
That's a stock based rom so you can use the stock kernel. Whereas CM10 is AOSP based so many things in the Kernel are different for example Wi-Fi modules as well as other things

Hi All!
I have an HTC One X+, International. I have decided to try and "play" with it and so I have Unlocked and Rooted and then tried Installing a Custom Rom, based on those instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2213910
Unlock and Root went well, and so installing TWRP (its present).
Then I got here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2067325
After trying to install the ROM (first image then zip - followed the instructions), the device is booting with the CM logo spinning, but then it gives out an "Unfortunately, NFC Service has stopped " error...
Please help!
I tried to go back to the original restore via TWRP - no luck. The HTC screen appears and then stuck in it.

Try and flash another ROM & Image. It appears the ROM might not have been downloaded properly.
BTW what happened after it gave the NFC error? Did you complete the rest of the process and simply restarted the device?

full wipe the rom before flashing CM on top of whatever you had before!

I cant get a new rom to the device - the computer stopped recognizing it and I have no idea how to get a file on it (maybe somehow via the terminal/SDK.bat?).
After it gives the NFC error, there is an "OK' button. I hit it a few times and nothing happens. Then the screen goes off and I cant turn it back on, unless I use the power button/volume down...
I did though tried a different image... same result.

the kernel you need is boot-BLADE-CM10.1-whateverdatehere
not the 42 kernels, those are for AOSP\PA\AOKP
soon this won't be an issue

This was FAST answer!
I see my mistake (reading comprehension) :
CM10 - for 4.1 based roms e.g. CM10 and AOKP 4.1.2
CM10.1 - ONLY for CM10.1
42 - 4.2 based roms e.g. AOKP 4.2.1 and AOSP 4.2.1
I thought that your ROM is based on the 4.2 (?)
Downloading the Kernel now.
By the way, when and how do I add the gapps?
flash kernel
flash rom
after rom flash the gapps

Sounds like you might be trying to use Open Gapps. The Official CM12.1 thread for your phone suggested the TK Gapps found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/tk-gapps-t3116347 - Either mini or micro. They are a bit out dated, but they should work and you can just update once everything is set up.
Not working
Sorry friend it dosent work for me as i had already tried tk gapps and open gapps and pa today but i don know what the problem is just flashed the rom properly 12.1 cm nightly latest its not my first time though..
thx
maybe some one could seriously help me
Could be the recovery you are using. Are you wiping /system partition when reflashing CM + Gapps? You might also look into one of the optimized builds of CM, such as GearCM as well.
yes I am wiping dalvik and everything before flashing the gapps and rom and also I had seen many vids on YouTube regarding cm12.1 on s4 i9500 and downloaded from the YouTube link provided and follow the same procedure as they do but unfortunately I messed up don't know why.....
oh and one thing can you tell me is there any harm if I flash my phone multiple times... any storage disk issues.. like slowing and any ram issues??
i hope this help you:
download the latest cm12.1 for s4
and flash latest twrp recovery for this device
now go to google and search for "open gapps"
and select the open gapps project then
select "arm" and "5.1" and "pico" and download it

Don't worry flashing roms is very simple process it is only remove files and copy new files
if you flash a new rom even more than 1000 time your device will not be bricked
good luck

As i said installing rom for android device doesn't effect on the device performance
and the never cause any slowing for disks except if the rom you installed was too bad this is another problem
however, don't worry if your device bricked or any else just power it off and boot to download mode then
flash the latest lolllipop 5.0 stock tar.md5 rom and every thing will be ok!
remember DON'T WORRY

I mentioned a possible recovery issue in post #4. Glad you resolved it though.

Not enough details.
It's probably the version of recovery you're using.
Which version of TWRP and what errors are you receiving?

Im using twrp 3.0.2.1 and everytime i try to install a rom it stuck at samsung screen.
And it show md5 not found.
What roms have you tried? What firmware were you on before you started flashing? Sometimes newer roms need the newest firmware like the bootloader and modem to run correctly. Are you wiping system, data, and both caches? If you are going from a Touchwiz rom to, say, a CM based, it might also be necessary to wipe the internal storage. Of course you should back all that up to a PC first, if you do that.

I have my stock rom n internl backed up. I try all. And still it always stuck on samsung screen.
Are you installing the kernel after the rom flash? A lot of newer Samsung roms don't have the kernel built in like CM roms.

How can install kernel after. Everytime i install it reboots its self to samsung screen. Or should go back to recovery and install the kernel back. And thank you for your help till now.
That's definitely why it's not booting, if you didn't do the kernel. If the rom has the Aroma installer, typically the last question asks if you want to reboot now and has a check mark in by default. Just uncheck and it'll go back to recovery. But you can also just go back and flash now and should be good.

Remove the battery for 10 seconds. Put it back in and reboot to download mode. Uncheck auto reboot. Flash then check auto reboot and flash again. Should stick.

Hi
I tried as said and it didnt chnge.
Can i ask bootloader should be at bl and modem should be at cp. Is it correct.
Hi
Thank you for your help.
I did the change on bootloader and modem.
Now im i need to know two more thing.
I download 2 dffernt kind of bootloader n modem.
I flash blxxxxxbpb1 and cpxxxxxboj1..this 2 files were tar.md5 files
Another one which i didnt flash. Blxxxxxxbpb1 and cpxxxxxxxbpb2..this 2 files are tar.tar files..
Can i know whats the different with this 2 files.
One more thing is when i chnge the bootloader and modem will the kernel changes. Or is it different.
Please guide me..im confuse.
Someone might have just mislabeled them. Flashing those will not affect kernel. Different partition of the phone.
Hi
I did change the bootloader n modem.

This is the recommended kernel
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24572369242687310
Recommended recovery is TWRP 2.8.7.0 not the newer 3.0+
Flash other recovery. Boot to TWRP. Wipe system, data, cache, dalvik. Flash rom. Wipe caches. Flash kernel. Reboot. Should work according to lots of people on the thread for that rom.
Hi.
How flash kernel.
just flash the tar.md5 file or the tar.zip file
