Try flashing another kernel. You somehow flashed the CM boot.img.

Not quite... If he flashed CM boot.img for Sense ROM, he shouldn't see boot animation at all. What he obviously did is flashing a CM ROM and CM boot.img, but one that won't boot the CM ROM. Bootanimation is part of the ROM, not of kernel... So what I would suggest for @4js: Redownload ViMiRo Rom, also redownload any Sense JB kernel from Original Development you like, wipe your phone and reflash everything. That should solve your issues.

ok, what exactly did you try?

cause im a beginner in flashing smartphones, there are some things i don't understand
1) when i do a factory reset with twrp 2.6.3.0, there should be wiped data, cache and dalvik, .android_secure
but when i afterwards do a advanced wipe everything succeded, exept dalvik cache, there it fail
2) after a succeded factory reset without os installed, i reboot, and then also i stuck at a boot logo
shouldn't that not be wiped too?
could an other recover.img from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2502327 help?
the last succesful rom installed was cm-10.1-20140624-UNOFFICIAL-protou_v2.zip, not the one i wrote in first post
@dansou901
i tried different roms, exactly how it was explained, but never succedded, after rebooting i always stuck at the boot logo

Need help. :(

I first installed CM 10 nightly, didn't really like it, so I thought about restoring my old backup and going back to stock ROM, but, when I booted the phone, the logo came up then it rebooted.
Then I flashed Xperia Ultimate HD 2.0.3, Installation went fine, but the logo stayed for like 5 seconds then it went into a black screen, kinda abit blue'er than black.
The LED light went light blue.
What should I do now?
Thanks.
Fixed!
Finally, I managed to fix it.
I did this:
Locked bootloader: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134335
Unroot with Flashtool.
Flashed boot.img from CM10.
Flashed 562 Android build. (or something :s)
And then the phone booted up.

Just for your information:
If you want to flash a new rom, you have to flash a kernel that's compatible. So you do it like this:
1. Push rom zip (and gapps if needed) to sdcard
2. Boot in cwm and do a backup
3. Flash the new kernel (in the zip or if you can choose one, watch out: there are kernels for GINGERBREAD or ICECREAMSANDWICH and use the right one )
4. Boot in cwm
5. Wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, advanced -> wipe dalvik cache
6. Install zip from sd card -> choose the zip
Reboot and you've got it

Black screen on every non-stock ROM.

So I had a Desire C for an year or so, and I flashed the heck out of it, so I am fairly experienced with flashing, rooting, adb/fastboot commands and that kind of stuff. For two weeks now I have a Desire X. But after flashing Half-Sense, myONEdx+, mySENSEdx+ (ofc. after flashing boot.img for each one) I just get a black screen (backlit black screen, so it's actually on). But after flashing to a non-backup stock rom (including ones with busybox, init.d support) they work fine. So essencialy I can't flash anything non-stock. Wat do?
Same here, flashed fulmix rom black screen and then reboot to recovery...
Restored backup and woeking...
Using TWRP 2.6 and my own kernel just write protection disabled..

Yes, SIDENOTE/offtopic I had a soft brick after a few days of use after trying to install ACID audo which led me to reinstall my Windows so the adb drivers work properly and then I could adb push another vanilla zip. All this because I don't have another device with sdcard support lol.

HTC Desire X Boot and Black Screen problem

Hi Guys,
I have a problem with my device, i rooted my HTC Desire X, it worked fine.
After trying to install a custom rom it fails, if I try to reboot it shows the HTC white screen after that screen it;s only a black screen.
I tried to boot in recovery mode and it starts TWRP, I installed the boot.img of the custom rom and installed the rom itself but which rom I try the screen still gets black after the white screen with HTC on it.
Can anyone please help?

Do a full wipe again (system, data, cache, dalvik) and reinstall the rom and then install the boot.img with the installer. The installer wipes cache in fastboot which fixes problems with booting sometimes

1. See if you are flashing rom on correct HBOOT i.e JB HBOOT 1.25.0002 for JB ROM
2. if you do not have S-OFF then use fastboot to flash kernels (you cannot flash kernels from recovery without S-OFF)

A problem with all JB 4.3 ROM I've tried

Hi, all!
I have that annoying problem with all the 4.3 ROM I've tried with no exception. Everything is fine until the first reboot. Then it's stuck on the first Galaxy SIII boot logo. I'm using TWRP - the latest version if it matters.
I always wipe everything first.
Please give more details on how you flash it.

I am sorry for the wrong section. May I ask some to move it to Q&A?
I always wipe data, cash, dalvik cash, system. Then install the ROM and gapps...
After the restart I set up the google account and etc. And after the first restart the phone freezes. That's all.
I'll try with different recovery.
PS. I've just tried CWM recovery 6.0.3.3. and Omega AOSP v9. Still the same.
Try cwm 6.0.3.6 and after you install the rom and after its set up go to recovery and factory reset

That's strange, I run Philz recovery and every 4.3 flash till now went through without issue.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I tried all the recoveries I could find. Including Philz. Still the same.
And something else strange. I installed CWM, CWM, touch and Philz and with them I made backups. After restoration of the backup the phone freezes. I also tried to install Omega 49 and the installation goes OK, but freezes before the first start-up.
The only solution was to install manually TWRP (Odin) to restore some of my old backups. I'm beginning to think that there is something wrong with my phone. It's black if it is important.
Suggest total wipe of phone install your stock rom and test
Hi,
I just want to say I'm also having the same problem.
Started using TWRP with full wipe, same issue on 4.3 and no issues on 4.2.
On latest CWM same problem and 4.2 wont even pass the first boot on Samsung logo.
Also had to use Odin to get back on TWRP and flash a 4.2 rom again.
Anyway there is one more thing I would like to try but haven't had the chance to do so, is installing the latest modem and ril. But I'm kind skeptic about that currently because there is also some risks and my S3 is my daily driver.
Don't change the ril on any custom as you stand a big chance of breaking the calls and Tex's. Modem yes but not ril. Do change to cwm and retry.

You are doing a full wipe?. System and data is the main thing to wipe not just factory reset. So go into mounts and storage and format data, system and cache there then flash the rom /gapps.

xpirt miui v5

Hi there!
I've recently flashed xpirt's unofficial port of MIUI v5. However, I'm not seeing any MIUI elements in my phone except 2 apps (which do not work). They are MiCloud and MiCredits. Other than those apps, my phone is pretty much a sensed based phone after flashing the phone.
Each time the phone boots up, a pop up will appear saying : Unfortunately, Xiaomi service framework has stopped. Same thing happens when i try to start the two related apps.
My order of flashing
Format /data
Format /cache
Format /system
Format /delvikcache
flash xpirt miui v5 #1
(at this point I repeated steps 1,2 & 4 after multiple failed attempts to get my miui working)
flash xpirt miui v5 #2
reboot
Did i flash it wrongly?
I have a working CWM recovery already.
Any help is appreciated!! My phone is in working condition even without the miui theme, but meh, wouldn't i just return to the stock rom?
Did a lot of work just to get my JB version on DX too! :crying:
Android 4.1.1
Hboot 1.25
fulmix.Kernel #2
Tried searching for any similar issues faced but seems like I'm the only one facing the issue.
Not even sure if it's supposed to be how it is... not enough screenshots around from other users to show what I should see upon starting up.

I'm not sure if the Windroid Tool checks your hboot and matches the right TWRP version. I for myself use TWRP 2.6.3.0 on JB hboot, works perfectly for me. You can also use PhilZ Touch if you want, but be sure to choose the JB version. Given that, flash the recoveries manually via fastboot, perform a full wipe, install the first package along with the second one.
TWRP 2.6.3.0 here.
I get an Error when I try wiping the dalvik cache.
flashed TWRP 2.5.0.0 via command line
no Error wiping dalvik + flashes MIUI successfully
