[Q] Chinese Huawei p7 Root - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
I was given the new Huawei Ascend p7 by my dad who was given it in China by the company he worked for.
After some tinkering, I have managed to get it in a useable state (out of Chinese!) but I want to root it to get rid of A) all of Huawei's rubbish and B) any lingering stuff to do with the Chinese operating system (e.g. Chinese app market).
I have found this guide on how to root the p7- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2789337
I have downloaded hisuite however the programme will not find the phone when it is plugged in. It does find the Huawei p6 I have (english version) which is why I reckon it is the fact that it is from China that is the issue.
It isn't an issue with the drivers as I first thought. Is it possible that there could be something in the OS stopping me from pairing with a computer and ultimately rooting?
I don't care how I get there, but the end goal is having this phone rooted so if anyone knows any work-arounds I can try, any and all help is appreciated. And yes, if you didn't guess already, I am a total noob.
Cheers

[Q] Azpen A1040 Help

I have an Azpen A1040, I am fairly new to tablets altogether.
I was trying to use the complete linux installer app to see if I could run Ubuntu on my tablet.
Well, that requires root. I have tried a few things with no success.
But the last one I tried was Vroot, it did NOT root the tablet, but yet, now Vroot is on there and I can not remove it even after doing a Facotry Reset.
I uninstalled Vroot when it didnt work, but then I did a factory reset and noticed there is an icon that looks like the vroot icon but all the text is in chinese.
I dont really need to run linux or root priveleges that bad, but now it bugs me that the vroot app is still there. What is it doing. Is it hurting anything?
Is there an easy way to get rid of it?
The specs of the tablet from the side of the box are
Azpen A1040 10.1" Quad Core Tablet
CPU MT8127 Quad Core Cortex A7
Running Android KitKat 4.4.2
You can find web specs for it at azpenpc.com
I can go in to running apps and do a force stop and disable on the chinese vroot, but I just dont want it to cause spyware or anything else.
Not even sure this is the right forum to post in, but I figure someone will point me in the right direction I hope.
Thanks
Rick (A total tablet newbie) haha

Hi Rick, did you figure out how to root this device? I have been struggling for days trying to find a root utility. Thanks!
I'm not doing what you are attempting but.
I found a couple of potential options. That worked for the limited things I was doing.
Cyanogen rooting appeared to work, though it won't allow installation of custom roms since there currently is no support.
Kingoapp I found on CNet, though I don't have any experience with it, it appeared to successfully root the device.
I would have added links but currenlty it appears I'm not allowed to. Google is your friend.

[Q] [P780] KingUser factory "rooted" (partially) 4GB JB phone looking for full root
Hi all,
I tried the rooting process described here but just bricked my phone because it wouldn't start or my computer wouldn't even detect it anymore. Fortunately, I was able to un-brick it with the files I had from the seller.
This phone came with KingUser, multi-language and has Google Play pre-installed. Unfortunately, even with KingUser saying the phone has root, it doesn't. I can't use Titanium backup for instance. Root Checker reports also that it's not rooted. The seller assured me that flashing with them will give me full root privileges but all it does it return it to the state it came to me a week ago:
SP_Drivers_v1.4
ROM Lenovo P780 MTK6589 163733 multi language firmware - 2014111\1P780_20130723 (v3.1324.0.177)
(I'm still grateful for those files because they saved the day as I was able to get my phone to a working state again.)
Would someone has some advice on a rooting process that could work for this phone and these specs?
Lenovo P780
Android 4.2.1
Build P780_S136_140306
MTK Quad-core 1.2GHz
RAM 1GB
Memory 2.4GB

Gosh, can you believe it, I never had had the need for Skype can you believe it? Let me try to solve this by forum posting (or PM?) if you can bear with me (?). I saw your response on another post and will follow the instructions.

Root for Teclast X10 Plus

I have tablet Teclast X10 Plus ((F2D6) Intel Z8300 Cherry Trail CPU. Android 5.1 only. Unable to find any information on how to root this device. Assistance will be appreciated. Thanking you.
Same here, no info from the company. Worse, we are theoretically supposed to be able to install Windows 10, but Teclast does not give any drivers for that. With only 2go of RAM, I don't care that much about Win 10, but not being able to root is frustrating. I've tried fastboot OEM unlock on the device, it said it worked, but it actually didn't
There's no OEM information for stock firmware flashing?
If you go there : teclast.com/en/firmware/ and type: f2d6 , then you have the only thing that they gave us, it's an Intel flash tool with the current firmware and android 5.1. I guess that there is something in there we could start with, but I'm not an expert. Other than that, the company give no support whatsoever and doesn't answer emails.
As for other information: I've tried to root with KingoRoot, it shows successful, my device rebooted, but seems to hang after the second boot stage, unable to load the O.S. anymore. I had to re-flash the device to fix it.
Somebody found a way to root: hispatablets.com/tablets-teclast/root-teclast-x10-plus-solucionado-t8419.html
I’ve never been that happy to know more than one language
If you need help with the instructions (in Spanish), just ask. I’ve tried and it’s working, my x10 plus is now rooted.
Still, the procedure is a bit clunky and I’m sure we can optimize the process (and fixed the reboot needed problem after the --daemon).
This is a good step and it seems like with this and the package given by Teclast we have enough information to do a lot of things… Still, there is work to do…
how i can get dualboot? I need windows 10 / android version but unfortunatelly i bought android only
Found a review saying this tablet has 'upside down' problem. Basically, it displays some apps upside down and there's no way to fix it.
Do you experience that too?
Flyagaric : It's not impossible, but it is super easy to fix (for those with this bug), you just choose one particular position (I suggest landscape), you go in options and lock the rotation. Every apps will properly open in the current position.

HiSense A2 rooting possible? No connection to Samsung Gear S2/S3

Hello together,
I have a really big problem with my new HiSense A2 (with 6.0.1 Marshmellow)
This is a double-side Android-Smartphone from Alibaba with a 5.5" LCD on front and a 5,2" EInk on back.
So, it will be impossible to find a working custom ROM, for this device as I believe.
I really love this device - if two problems were solved....
1. Problem
Tried to unroot with RootKHP Pro 1.9 - when finished, it says OK - device is rooted, but SU says not rooted and no access to the system-directory.
Then tried KingoRoot - it recognice the Device as Hisense A2 but brakes operation and can't root it.
Is there a possibility to root this Smartphone?
Had rooted all my devices in past cause using titan-backup and other apps that needs root-access.
2. Problem
I'm developing watchfaces for the Samsung Gear S2 and S3 and own this wearables.
Unfortunately the app "Samsung Gear" isn't compatible to the HiSense.
So I got the three apps:
- Samsung Gear
- Samsung Accessory Service
- Gear S Plugin
from my old (and rooted) Smartphone, a LG G2 and installed them onto the HiSense.
Installation was sucessful and everything seemed to be OK.
Can connect the Gear S2/S3 with Bluetooth to the HiSense, they appear as paired devices in the bluetooth-list.
But the app Samsung Gear could'nt establish a connection to the Watches and stays in searching mode - anyhow the Watches are paired and accepted the code with 6 numeric chars..
Is there a way to get Samsung Gear connecting the Watches and push the notifications from the HiSense onto the Watches?
Searched hours and hours in the web for help.
But could'nt find a help anywhere.
Hope, some here can help me to become glad with the Hisense.
kind regards
Veronica
If someone is looking for rooting the Hisense A2.
The multilingual version 6.03.09.00 is rootable with:

The app costs $20, but only one, I found, what works.
kind regards

Hi,
I tried to root my A2 using kingroot, towelroot, framaroot and one click root apps without success before I found this thread.
drfone app showed "rooted" although the phone was not rooted. Meanwhile, the windows version offers rooting for free and it rooted my phone. However, I am trying to unbrick it since the following reboot...
It is quite possible that this problem would not exist without the numerous previous failed attempts.
Regards
Peter
Hi Peter,
do I understand correct, DrFone in Windows free version was able to root your A2, but now your device is bricked after a reboot?
This sounds really fatal.
Hope, you're able to bring your Phone back to lifeain - crossing fingers for.
If your A2 is working again, could you explain, what you did with, please?
kind regards

normally you only need to follow the following tutorial:
1.1. first HISENSE A2 version update to latest version(6.09)

PS: JOYGRAM
Hello, everybody,
is there any news regarding root?
Anybody know of a way?

Got a tablet.

My uncle recently gifted me a tablet he got from work that was about to be terminated. I found out that it was enrolled into their device management system (Knox) and I've been trying to release it. I ended up considering rooting the device or installing a new firmware, but I'm not quite sure if this would solve my problem. Can you guys give me suggestions on what to do to release my tablet and start using it?
PS. My uncle is the person in charge of the devices in his company, the person who used to be in charge never provided access to the knox device manager, and since newer devices are managed using a different tool and these tablets were all replaced they never tried to recover these.
Please help.
