Was just wondering how much modification it would take to get an XZU shoehorned into one, as it's designed to a N5 I'm guessing some mod might be required.
If you don't know what it is:

yea but nah
So it really doesnt fit at all, ive been trying to make myself a custom headset that works and fits better but i think what I really need is longer focal lens length on the lenses, the screen size is so big that your eyes have trouble merging the images that close, would be great to hear if anyone else has had more success too.

I recently posted that my friend and I have the same phone with the same carrier, the same firmware (2.3.4) etc. I asked why his camera was better, and never got a answer which solved it. I now think this was my folley as it appears that it is actually his screen which is better.
We bluetoothed some pictures we both had aken ourselves to see if it was in fact the camera and although it is not as big a difference when we take pictures on each device his pictures (the same pictures) look slightly beter.
Any ideas why this may be, if i got a botched phone or something? there is a couple of slight scrathes over my camera if tht could make the difference but i doubt it since it's more the fact my pictures are blurry.
Thanks in advance, Harry

Did you check the screen settings? There's one besides 'Brightness'. The screen can be set to something, Dynamic, or something else. This could be it... have a look around and make sure you're on the same settings.
FWIW I read your first post a week or 2 ago, and didn't answer cause it sounds like a really strange problem...and without both phones in my hand I couldn't begin to speculate. I doubt that you got a sub-par phone. Try making photos without holding the device, set it on a level surface. The blur could be from your hand shaking very very slightly, and maybe your buddy has steadier hands than you do. Really, no way to tell without having the phones in front of me. Sorry if this doesn't help. Keep us posted on your findings and good luck!
I saw that some i9100 got a different Camara Firmware possibly he got a better Firmware...
if thats not right someone can still blame me

I know it's hard without seeing both, we're struggling with both. I have a more recent camera firmware i think as i updated through samsung apps not long ago. I'm not entirely sure about the shake but we have done a lot of photos and we almost always had him take both pictues. Also we both use 'standard' screen mode (we checked).
check to make sure that the camera lense is clean as well, often a smudgy/dirty lense will make bad photos.
I'm actually having the same problem (and have been having it for months). I only noticed it when I was a concert late last year and I was recording on my phone and watching other people's SGS2s record. Theirs was obviously much clearer and did not distort like my camera/footage did (when lights would flash, mines would blur, 'blob' together lights that were close to one another etc. while theirs captured it with clarity). Then I started to notice that when I zoom in, my camera gets extremely blurry, too. I started comparing to a few other people and, yes, on the same settings my camera is much worse. I've tried resetting the camera settings which has proved to do nothing for it.
I was starting to think I was crazy but I've finally found someone else with the same/a similar problem (was extremely hard to Google).
I also updated my firmware via Samsung Apps. It seems to be great in natural light but otherwise, it's really quite poor.
Camera firmware is TBEF04.
Any ideas?
guys it would be better if we can attach our sample pictures. i had similar problem. this is mine.
The camera on the note 3 has wonderful quality but anyone who's ever tried to shoot professional looking video on it can attest to the fact that it has pretty horrible stabilization issues.
Has anyone come across a case that provides additional grip/support/stabilization, preferably also giving the versatility to be used on a tripod/monopod and in a perfect world, allowing for a cold shoe for which to mount an external shotgun mic?
I'd really love to see something like the owle case http://www.macworld.com/article/1157656/owle_iphone.html but anything you guys have seen to make this thing a bit more stable would help.
do you guys think that something like this might fit? (it looks a little small) - http://photojojo.com/store/awesomeness/slingshot/

The Slingshot looks like it will work. It adjusts itself to whatever phone is in it, and they claim it will work with any smartphone. I don't see why it wouldn't work for the Note3.

the only downside i see really is where to mount the microphone
What I would do is get a TPU case and mod it into a Wii steering wheel:

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-...r-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-3-N9000/1492093700.html
mod it with a dremel and epoxy or some other DIY cement.
This should work, I just got a Wiimote and it is the same length as my Note 3.
Hello peeps!
This might sound a bit paranoid about getting all I can of my phone, but that's exactly what I want.
I've just received the case I've ordered, and it's a bit thick which is ok; however it doesn't get slimmer around the camera's hole.
I wonder if it can cause a big loss in ilumination due to it.
from your experience with other cases, do you think it can affect the camera's ilumination a lot?
I took 2 pictures in the same condition, with and without the case and the difference isn't too much but I'd like to get external advice on this!
Thanks :good:

NO
I used lots of different cases for my phones (cause i like accessories) and none of them affect camera quality
sorry but your idea is not technical

That 6.4" display seems to be great for a VR headset.
Anyone have any success?
What model?

I got mine in the colorcross. Had to hacksaw the lips off one side which was easy and you can slide it in from the side.
Only problem is the images are slightly too far apart due to the size of the screen although it does work well in some apps
I actually tried mine with one of those cardboard vr headsets that I bought on Amazon. Works pretty well with some of the vr apps but I couldn't get the magnet switch to work. Again, the ultra was too big for it but I held it in place with one hand and the visuals were pretty awesome. I know they sell extra large kits, but not sure if I want to buy another one just yet.
Sent from my Xperia Z Ultra using XDA Free mobile app

Same here, bought the Colorcross Headset because it said would work with Phonoes & Tablets up to 7".
Yeah...sure...7". Not even the Z Ultra does fit in, had to cut some pieces out to make it fit. No chance that anything bigger than the ZU will ever fit.
Then there was the Problem with the lenses, because of the Size of the Display, they need to be further away from the screen and the space between those two lenses needs to be bigger, I managed to get them out of the Headset and glued them back in (about 3mm further back and 8mm further away from each other) - with a cardboard holder i made myself.
That "thing" looks horrible now, but it does the Job. Although, the experience isn't that great with the ZU because of the low DPI of the Screen.

Mo3d is amazing if you want to watch either 2d or 3d films with the ultra. You can decrease the ipd so the images are moved closer together.
Anyone using any lenses, like wide angle, fisheye, macro, etc. on their Nexus 6? If so, can you share any information and pics/videos of your set up? I was thinking about investing, but not sure if I should go with the clip or if I should go with a magnet one (also not sure if there is a magnet built in around the camera ala the Nexus 5).
I am a total noob when it comes to this stuff so any help would be awesome. Also, apologies if there is another thread on this topic, but I did not have any luck finding one.

Not sure if you're aware of this, but there was no magnet built around the Nexus 5's camera. Yes, people were able to mount the magnetic camera lenses to the N5's camera directly, but the only thing it would have been attaching itself to would have been the mechanisms for image stabilization, basically making that useless with the lens on, and also the small possibility of causing some sort of damage to the system in some way down the line.

I will second this. Do not put something magnetic near your camera. You will break your ois.

I just bought these. Reviews seem to be pretty good, and they're only 15 bucks.

They fit ok. You can't have a case on the phone, though. They also have to be used from the top, instead of from the side.
Does it cover up the flash ring?

Pretty much. It has to, to not interfere with the actual camera.
Ah well... I don't know the last time I used a phone flash anyway. ?
I got some for my old iphone 5s and it fits the Nexus 6 fine, fits in the black ring on the camera so flash is fine. Only few £$ on ebay.
