[Q] How to dump Android .img images for restoring from FastBoot?

I am new to xda developers community. I bought a brand new HCL ME X1 Android 2.3.3 gracious Gingerbread Tablet.
I rooted my Android 2.3.3 Tablet, and I have installed ClockWorkMod Recovery 5. I want to be prepared to flash my own built images via Fastboot. But I do not know how. How to dump Fastboot format ( .img ) images and by using which tools, so that I could use these images to restore/upgrade via Fastboot especially. Currently I am afraid to replace the OS because I do not have enough safe backup images. Please, guide me regarding this serious problem as I want to prepare my Tablet to use both the tools in case of emergency, and I also want to upgrade my 2.3.3 to at least 2.3.6 or even 3.0. Those who would help me, I appreciate in advance. Also please tell me, if nanddump raw nand images can be used to restore my paritions and OS from FastBoot?

help with recovery bootloader mediapad 7 lite

hello everyone i need help with my mediapad 7 lite , i been searching for months and have not been able to install a single recovery like cwm twrp etc. would someone tell me what is going on , most guides stuck at fastboot and waiting for device . why is there so much shadyness would anyone post a good solution with tools etc? mediapad 7 lite s7-932u. well i hope i get a solution , i want install android lollipop , and by anymeans is there a rom for the bios to make the processor quad or dual . as simple as formating windows 98 or xp please.
I am sorry if you don't like my answer as I know your device is not the same as this TWRP but you may like to port it? or compile it?
I think you need to root your device as well otherwise you may struggle.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2693100
Note this is tested on S7-931W while your post shows you are keen to get s7-932u.
If you use Linux you can download that TWRP, unpack it with imgRePackerRK
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2257331
then use Android to get info on where your recovery is and take a backup image of it
copy your stock recovery to Linux, unpack it with same tool as above, then swap in your kernel into TWRP and adjust the fstab and a few text files to match your ids
repack modified TWRP with imgRePackerRK and flash it.
making sure you have kept a backup on your removable sdcard.
good luck

[HELP] Write recovery image in recovery partition

Hi XDA. I'm looking for help here, because i have't found anything like i need in many researches that i made. I have a qualcomm based phone that is comercialized only in my country; it's based on ZTE parts but it is sold over a brand called Vtelca.
There's litteraly any official way to flash this phone neither than an official firmware. The only thing that one can find are custom roms that are made by local coockers, based on system dumps of functional phones. There's a port of CWM that one can install in this phone over ADB. One can be able to flash CWM when the phone is operative, but if the phone has a soft brick, one can just do anything.
Theres no fastboot in this device, so one can't flash images over there, but there is a way to connect the phone that mounts all of its partitions (litteraly all of them, including the recovery one). Only linux can obviously read all of this partitions because of the filesystems, and here is my question:
Is there a way to write an image into a partition?
My theory is that if i know which of the partitions corresponds to android recovery, i 'should' be able to write the recovery image into it. Right?
Thank you in advance, even if there's no way to do this.

I hope so. ?
Finally I succeed in installing a non standard recovery and in getting root permission.
I don't know if someone is still interested in such device, but here is the material you need.
In the enclosed zip you'll find:
recovery.img: it's a PhiltZ touch recovery (based on CWM), the only one I got working because it uses the phisical buttons of the phone. In this device the touch is not working in recovery mode. I tested all the main functions (wipe, install, backup e restore), and they are all working, the minor ones are untested. This recovery reads and writes only from internal storage (not from the external SD). To install it, you need "SP Flash Tool", which can be downloaded from Mediacom site, in the relative device page.
MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin e MT6735M_Android_scatter.txt: are the "download-Agent" and the "Scatter loading file" you have to use in SP Flash Tool to flash the recovery. The scatter file is already setted to flash only the recovery, not other parts of the firmware. Be sure, before flashing, that only recovery item is checked in the Download page of SP Flash Tool, with the proper recovery path in "Location".
BETA-SuperSU-v2.52.zip: it's the zip archive to get root permission. Install it via recovery, after you have tested that the recovery is working for you.
recoveryORG.img: it's the original recovery, for restoring purposes. Install it (if you need to restore your phone to the original state) with SP Flash Tool, in the same way.
N.B.: Of course, I do not take any responsabilities about brick or problems may occur to your phone after using this material. . If you decide to use it, you do at your risk, aware that this type of changes always involves a minimum of risk if something goes wrong.

[Q] Help Root, Flash recovery, and dumping stock imgs Huawei Y6 Pro TIT U-02

Good day members and Developers of XDA,
After days of googling and searching through forums and tutorials, I decided to make this thread to introduce my Delima.
I have this new Huawei y6 pro TIT U-02 which is quite different from Huawei y6 pro TIT AL00 (4G LTE). Difference in partitions and ROM images. However, I wanted to root my phone so as usual I started the easy way using renowned root apps, no luck though. Next step was to flash recovery. To port the suitable recovery I needed to dump my stock boot.img and recovery.img files out of my stock firmware. The irony is that I needed Root access in order to use the adb shell su (dd or cc). So I looked around for a way to pull my firmware images without the need of root. So I found the read back of SP Flash tool which is quite useful and great way to dump img. Yet I faced another problem that is of battery as it is not removable therefore the SP Flash tool reads my phone for short time before it starts charging and show the battery icon which disconnects the adb driver of the phone and connects another device (the phone in charging mode is detected as another device not readable by SP Flash tools). Quanciquantly, I was unable to get stock img by any means.
NOW I have my stock firmware (downloaded from Huawei site) and I want a way to extract boot.img and recovery.img. I extracted the lollipop update.zip and found a boot.img which is not that of booting the device. Ten I extracted the "system.new.dat" file and found nothing there.
All I need now is the stock boot.img and recovery.umg of my TIT U-02 or a way to dump them. I'de really appreciate any kind of help.
Sorry for long post I had to tell full story in order not to get solutions I already tried and make my issue clear.
