For some reason, ever since running any version of CM, I've had bad luck trying to get DSP Manager to work...not sure if it's my music file format or what, but listening to the music flat makes me feel like I'm really missing out on the potential of the music quality this phone could really put out!
I ended up using Awesome Beats v5 on top of some audio fix file (which I'm having trouble finding the thread it was in, along with a link to this mod) in CM10.1, and it worked beautifully.
I've heard that Awesome Beats is not compatible with 4.3 just yet, unfortunately... Any ideas guys? Has anyone else found a solution to at least get DSP to not crash? Or have you gotten something like Awesome Beats working? As always, any input's appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Thank you! It works great once you get it installed. I had to download SuperSU over top of using Superuser to get the driver to properly install, which means some extra steps when installing nightly 10.2 builds. Guess I'll just have to skip a few nightlys
Anyone using any audio mods , if so which ones and how well do they work? I'm coming from the HTC One which has great headphone/speakerphone audio quality. I'm not too concerned about speakerphone as I use headphones most of the time.

Isn't that a flashable zip? Is there an option to flash in stock recovery since the Verizon variant doesn't have TWRP or CWM?

it does work, the g3 just has a great audio output that its hard to tell the difference. you will not get an increase in volume though :crying:
I am an audiophile. I own many thousands of dollars in headphone equipment as well as monitoring equipment. I have been an avid android user and developer since the HTC G1. I use viper4audio not for the speaker output but for the headphone output. The G3 uses the same Amp for the speaker as it does for the headphones. There is no change what so ever when viper4audio is enables to my sound. I use the equalizer ive checked multiple settings, i've even used different audio players to get viper4audio to work on neither the speaker or headphones. What you experiencing is a placebo effect.
I hate to ask such a basic question, but are you guys using the XPOSED framework and have you enabled the viper mod in the framework?
I can assure you this mod works with the G3 (at least the AT&T version - I'll be testing on a verizon version later today). The sound difference can be drastic depending on what mods you turn on and to what levels you set them at.
That brings up another question I guess.... Are you going into the GUI and selecting different mods? Just installing the app won't change anything as nothing is turned on be default. You have to set things up manually.....
Just moved from and S5 and this was one thing I installed first. I can't speak to the headphone jack but bluetooth audio definitely works.
Viper sounds amazing on this phone, I can tell a difference from my s4. Very happy with spotify viper combo
does anyone has a the origina file handy for a verizon LG-G3 handy? I followed the instructions in the op and saved the original file on my sdcard but I ended up buying another sdcard and forgot I had it in the old sdcard. Now I'm scared if I ever going to do a change I don't have the original file to go back to. I'm happy with this mod I just want to have it just in case, thank

I am an audiophile as well and viper has been working perfectly for me since day one of rooting my g3. I don't have force enable viper on. I also have the user audio profile installed. And FX compatibility mode is on normal. Do you have yours installed as a system app? I don't.

I am an audiophile and I always recommend Noozxoide Eizo Rewire Pro. Amazing.
I think viper is the best I notice a big difference in both quality and volume I used a decibel meter on my g2 to compare the difference and with viper I gained on the low end 6 db and on the high end 10db so that's an average of a 8 db gain with viper
I rooted almost specifically to use Viper4Android. Ive noticed that the phone speaker is actually quieter with V4A enabled(probably just settings) but headphone volume/clarity is fantastic. I also came from an HTC One M7, and i have to say, 1 watt does work on this device

I can confirm this also. V4A FX 2.3.3.0/Verizon VS985(Rooted) -
Viper always has worked for me on my G3 with and without Xposed framework installed, but always with root. My steps are below, never given me a problem.
V4A version 2.3.3.0 [in Normal (not compatibility) mode, with granted root permissions, Latest version, expert UI, played with SPOTIFY]
Installed by dragging apk from extSD to
dragged to system/apps/
permissions change to rw-r--r--
ownerships changed to root
if its not in my app drawer, i reboot, if it is I go straight to the install of the drivers (both have worked fine for me)
installed V4A driver by granting root
Super Audio Quality
Reboot
Select it as the equalizer in spotify
enjoy

Agreed.
Has anyone tried an audio boost to the headphone out volume with V4A Installed? I like to feel my head shake with bass...but am very picky about quality of sound too. I know on my GS4 any audio boost to TW 4.4.2 caused distortion even if using V4A at 50% media volume @ signal strength= moderate \ Max Gain =x4 \ Max output = -1.9db
Using Klipsch S4A buds - anyone got recommendations for earbuds that go well with V4A on the G3? interested to know thoughts, looking for new ones

While it is always nice to have alternatives, if you have to root just go with ViPER4 Android FX A4. You can boost and improve your sound.

I'm running blisstalk rom 4.4.4 VZW retail g3. The rom I'm on has Viper4android installed in it, I applied the Viper phone speaker settings but its not putting out very much boost! I also tried Volume+ from the play store and it doesn't work well on this rom either. This app Volume booster works great on this rom, wow you can damage you're phone speakers with this app if u don't know what your doing! Awesome I like it!

in order for V4A to work with poweramp just go into poweramp/settings/adio/advanced tweaks and uncheck direct volume control and should work fine
Thanks for the reply. I had already done that though.
Will changing values in this app cause an ota to fail? OTA fails when manually making the edits. And if yes, does the ota then work after using the restore values option?

Running the same rom; lollipop variant, Viper4android and LG Music app. Did you check to see if direct audio control in Poweramp is unchecked? It is in the audio/advanced setting. It should be to run Viper4android. I had Poweramp as my DD on my prior phone. I can not run it yet in lollipop. Check that out and report back. Gary

Hi guys,
I have disabled the audio Effect and successfully installed Viper4Arise.
But after reboot, not only viper is showing abnormal status, the phone sound has gone into total mute no matter adjusting volume.
I got no choice but to uninstall viper4arise. The sound is back but the Headset&audio effect under Settings>Additional Settings has been FC when I click it.
I am not sure how to resolve this FC issue. But I am more curious is there anyone has successfully installed Arise Sound System?
Appreciate if anyone can share out .

Update: I download viper4android under Magisk module. This time, it works perfectly.
The only thing is, the Headset& audio effect is still FC.
Guess the only way is to reinstall the same miui update to fix this issue.

I feel like I tried every combination of installing things to get Viper4Android to work on the Pixel 6. I'm currently on rooted January update and I don't think I ever had Viper4Android working correctly. I've gone through this forum trying to find a solution and have tried...
SE Lenix Changer.apk to set to permissive (I've flipped back since it didn't work)
Ainur-Narsil
AML-4.0.zip
acp.zip
ViperFx_Android12_fix.zip
I followed a few different solutions that didn't work for me and was just wondering if anyone has had luck getting it to run correctly on the Pixel 6 Jan update - your solution would be greatly appreciated!

I tried and it was the first time I saw it work!! was excited but I was using the phone's speakers. When I tried using my XM3s I was still getting the same

I'm not sure if it wasn't working before because I didn't try it with my phone's speakers but at least now I know it's somewhat working! any idea if I should expect it to not work using my bluetooth headphones?

yup it's enabled! so weird though because I can't get the headphones to work. I found a thread where someone was using viper4android with the xm3s so I think it's do-able. I also tried the below with no luck

One more thing I can think of to try. Go into Developer Options and disable HD audio. Forgot about that, lol. Hope it works for ya.
It's pretty easy to get it working, download the regular APK of Viper, open it and let it install the drivers, after the reboot go into adb/modules/viper4android and replace the old post-fs-data.sh file with this one and enable legacy mode, reboot and enjoy
Tested on Stock, ProtonAOSP and CalyxOS on pixel 6

I tried that and it gets it working for the phone's speakers and I just learned it also works in my car. But when I hook up my Sony XM3s all the options are disabled like I posted above even with legacy on. It seems to be something with the headphones themselves since the car is also BT it can't be a BT issue.

Mine is greyed out as well but I think only because I have it disabled in my Pixel Buds settings. If I enabled in the Pixel Buds settings I believe it won't be grayed out on the Developer Options. Buds are in the car so can't test right now but that's how I remember it.
Not really sure why you can't get yours going.
