I'm unable to boot after installing cyanogenmod 10.2 (cm-10.2.0-jewel.zip) Phone has hboot 1.15 unlock s-on and can still boot to the bootloader I tried flashing boot.img which I extracted from cm-10.2.0-jewel.zip but the phone won't get past the htc quietly brilliant logo it just hangs there
Hit the top link in my sig. Your issue is that you're S-on and you have to flash the kernel separately from the ROM. Read down to the section on S-on kernel flashing to understand more. I'll add by saying that S-off is highly recommended on the EVO LTE.

I'm not sure if you got it right that I did flash the kernel (boot.img) separately So then my problem is still I need s-off?

Did you do a full wipe in recovery before flashing the ROM? Did you flash the boot.img before or after you flashed the ROM?

I did full wipes I flashed cm first then tried to boot and it wouldn't boot Then I flashed the boot.img, taken from the cm zip file still wouldn't boot Tried wiping again and flashing boot.img first and then installing cm but that didn't work either but security is still on i didn't get s-off yet

If I were you I'd go ahead and shoot for S-off. You need to be on a fairly stock Sense ROM to do this. I recommend MeanBean, as it has a kernel installer to facilitate flashing while S-on. Of course, if you're still on a Sense ROM or have a backup of a Sense ROM you can use that, instead. Facepalm is pretty simple to use if you're handy with ADB & Fastboot commands.
You might also want to check and make sure you don't have a bad download, as that can be problematic.

Dont know if its the same for you CDMA guys, but it might be a firmware issue. Have you tried fixing permissions in recovery?
Edit: same issue here

I could be wrong, but I thought s-on users had to flash the kernel and then the Rom. You could also try 4ext as your recovery (see my sig). It allows people who are still s-on to easily flash the kernel while flashing the Rom.

I had a similar issue a few months back....
I was only able to resolve by booting phone into Recovery via CMD prompts on my computer. Something about the 1.5 S-On.

My guess would be 1.5 s-on since that seems to cause the most bootlooping issues. I recommend you get 1.4 s-off (see my signature) or 1.5 s-off. That makes flashing work much better, especially ICS ROMs.

or is there another way to Root & install CWM or TWRP on this condition ...??

You have to unlock bootloader and flash twrp with fastboot. You can use Regawmod but people have been having issues with it. If you go to HTC Dev and sign up the instructions are pretty well written. When you finish unlocking download twrp from the TeamWin website and flash it just like unlock_code.bin but type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img or whatever the image file is named. Then flash a rom. The kernel has to be installed separately or you can use a rom with a kernel installer like meanrom

So that mean without S-Off, i still can to flash twrp and flash a custom kernel...?? Thx
Yes, there is flash gui, fastboot, and htc dumlock. Some roms like mean have a kernel installer built in

I have an HTC flyer rotted by unlocking the bootloader and it is S-ON. Everyone knows that when your flyer is rooted that way you'll need to flash the kernel manually
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
otherwise the kernel will not be flashed.
So now i have the lledroid HC ROM and I flashed the kernel with clockworkmod. (The kernel can be flash within the recovery) So my question is is the kernel now flashed or do I need to do it manualy.
Link to lee's rom (great work on it BTW) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406851
Don't personally know how LeeDroid handles boot.img. If the thread says that it will flash boot.img for you in recovery with S-On, than you should be good. The worst that will happen if try to boot, is that it will get stuck on the boot splash screen. In which case, just restart into bootloader, and flash the boot.img in fastboot.
On the other hand, flashing it manually (even if it was already flashed automatically) typically will not hurt anything either.
I knew that My question was can you flash flash a kernel using a zip file without commands with S-ON

If its not a feature of the installer for the particular custom ROM, then no.
Hi all!
I have problem with bootloop on my HTC Evo 3D and somehow i lose my backup i think i format sd card when i was trying instal new room. I have sucessfully restore my phone like 10 times bot now when im trying to restore it says that there is no backup file. Im on 4ext recovery and i can enter to boot mod. Read few forum but nothing work and biggest problem is im on hboot 1.53 and cant install rooms beacose i get bootloops.
My device:
HTC EVO 3D
SHOOTER_U PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT: 1.53.0007
4EXT recovery
Some can help please?
So, have you enabled 4ext smartflash on recovery? There are many roms that can be flashed on 1.53hboot. YAS, mwakious3d, Cool ICS and every ics rom based on stock ics sense. In order to flash theese roms you have to enable smartflash or unzip the boot.img and flash it on fastboot.

yea smartflash was disabled dont know why nvm. i instal cobra3d ics room and i get HTC logo after reboot and it just shut down after logo... i download yodas ICS now and will try with that room and after i have no idea what to do...

If the phone won't boot, go on fastboot and flash the boot.img from the corresponding rom through fastboot command.
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
PS: The phone will double-reboot after the installation of boot.img from 4ext. So let it reboot and see after some time if it boots. If not flash the boot.img as described above.
If you're using the newest version of 4ext touch you're able to enable smartflash in advanced settings.
After that I recommend you to install stock rooted ICS. From this base you can easily s-off your device using Juopunutbear.

You can flash Cool ICS rom which is working on hboot 1.53 and don't need s-off,just simply flash the zip file and reboot your phone good luck
