Flashed N7100 Bootloader, Possible Fixes? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

So, accidentally flashed a N7100 bootloader to my phone, since it was linked in a thread for the ROM I was using, now the phone shows GT-N7100 in Download mode and odin won't flash anything.
I've read about, and tried the KABOL(i think that's his name) resistor trick, but for some reason it will not work for me. Is there ANY other way(other than sending it off and paying $50) to get this phone to work again?

Unfortunately no, the only ways are the resistor trick or sending it off to I believe it was mobiletechvideos or something like that.

actually, believe it or not -- I just recovered my Note without having to do the resistor trick, after flashing the International version baseband. My Download Mode says N7100, my phone says GT-N7105 and I have working Voice, Text and Data.

[Q] USB jig not working

Me and my fiance both have Samsung gs2's, both rooted the same way using the same rom. I bought a USB jig to reserved the counter and it worked fine on my phone but when I tried to use it on hers it wouldn't clear the custom counter. And the top of the screen in download mode it says odin mode on my phone but on hers it says factory mode. Could that be the reason it's not letting me reset the counter? If so how do I get hers to say Odin mode?
Thanks Adam

Thank you very much. I'll try that when I get a chance to. I'll report back later. And also, I did try a search but I wasn't sure if there were different boot loaders for different firmwares. So I didn't want to make the problems worse. So that's why I asked..

Sorry to bump this thread, but I thought it better than creating a new one!
I've just bought a USB jig and encountered the same issue ('Factory Mode', etc). I figured that I may have to flash the old bootloader to get it to work, but I've got a couple of questions first...
1) Does it matter what bootloader I use? I'm currently running ICS 4.0.3 (the XXLPB leak).
2) What are the differences between flashing it via 'bootloader' and 'PDA'?
3) What are the odds of bricking my phone? I've read that bootloaders are what cause most issues.
4) Do I need to re-flash my current bootloader (wherever I'd find that) or will my phone run the same/differently with the old one?
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help. Still a bit new to all this!

Anywhere else I can get this?
If you can't find it on Samfirmware, AndroidFirmwares.net or Samsung-updates.com, you probably won't find it at all.

[Q] Question about returning phone

Hey guys I need to return my phone to be fixed, but have a slight problem. The firmware is all stock except for when it boots up it says it is a GT-I9100. This is left from a previous flash that I did, but I went back to stock and never bothered to fix that, because it didn't really bug me. Now my phone won't recognize a charger or any usb plugs. My question is will Samsung/AT&T still accept my phone for replacement with this? If not is there anyway I can fix the boot screen without plugging my phone in? Thanks guys sorry for the noob question, but I am not really sure what to do and this is kind of a specific problem, so I couldn't find anything in the search. Once again really appreciate any help!

No, don't do that.
You can either use Mobile Odin to remove it, or do a complete Return to Stock using Odin.

You're absolutely right. For some reason I thought you were stock rooted...my mistake. Use my second option then.
As long as you root it, you can use Mobile Odin. Not like it matters anyway, you just need to get rid of the GT-I9100 and then flash back to stock again, thus eliminating root.
Did Odin one-click back to stock not work for you? Because it sounds like you might have flashed I9100 bootloaders and flashing I777 bootloaders should fix it (which if I'm not mkstaken, the one click does include). Someone correct me on both points if I'm wrong , I'm simply conjecturing.

Yea I tried this, didn't work. I could probably get it into download mode, if I borrowed someones battery, but I am not sure why that matters if the computer won't detect it.
I finally got my phone to connect after cleaning it for like an hour, I just have to hold it at a certain angle. Everytime I try and flash the bootloader I get a fail though, I am using odin 1.8.5 and the bootloader here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18859438&postcount=199. After it fails I have to reflash using the one click no bootloader here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18859438&postcount=199. Is there any one click with the stock bootloaders someone could please link me to? Thanks once again guys
Both links appear to be the same.
Anyway, why would you flash the bootloader?

That was my suggestion, I thought it might be an I9100 bootloader that he flashed which causes the GT-I 9100 to show up on boot, and he wants it back at stock for returning. Again I could be wrong, and of course flashing bootloaders is very dangerous, especially with your faulty USB connection (I didn't know it was faulty when I posted before).
EDIT: Did you ever try rooting so you can go the Mobile Odin route (which would be much safer)?

This first, please. This will tell you which bootloader you currently have.
If the usb connection is lost while the bootloader is flashing, the phone will hard brik, and will require jtag repair to recover, which costs about $50 to $60. Therefore, it is necessary to know what the phone status really is before taking that risk.
If you determine that you really do have the I9100 secondary bootloader, then you put the I777 UCKH7 sbl.tar in the PDA slot of Odin3 v1.85. Or you could flash the I777UCKH7-CL503881 FULL Odin3 One-click Downloader which includes the param.lfs and the secondary bootloader.
Mobile Odin will not flash bootloaders or param.lfs

[q] get into locked phone?

So I just bought an at&t i717 note off eBay that was run over by a car or something. I pulled the logicboard out and swapped it into my note to test it and its working 100% so far. Problem is the seller had it locked with a pattern and now won't contact me. So I thought I could get the phone into recovery and do a factory reset or something, not even sure that would work.
Now I also can't get into recovery. No matter what I tried. I flashed a stock rom via odin, still nothing. I tried to root the phone and flash CWM and still the same thing....
When I try to enter recovery it goes immediately to the download screen. Any help would be great I need to get this puppy cracked. I'm pretty new to android so it's tough to know what to do.
Thanks :good:
Hold both volume buttons down when trying to get into recovery.
still stuck
Just flashed another stock ATT rom, this one was ICS. Then I flashed cwm recovery and still just goes to the download screen! Getting pissed.
If I wasn't locked out of the phone I could get ROM manager and boot into recovery..
Any help would be great!
Definitely holding both UP and DOWN volume buttons. I've tried multiple times and still same result.
OK I am thinking the volume UP on this logic board is not working...

I'm not sure that I can but ill look into it one more time. I'm currently trying to download NOVENADXLJ2 rom, it has a boot to recovery on the power menu. Hoping I can flash it somehow with odin!

Here it is again...just in case someone else's having the same issue
Why don't you give this a shot....
If you are willing to unroot and root again, here's what I've been doing to return to stock.
1 - Put phone in "Download Mode" - phone connected to PC
2 - Start Samsung Kies (make sure you have the latest.....)
3 - From Kies, click on tools then "Firmware Upgrade and Initialization"
4 - You will be prompted to enter ESN and model number (it is ok to pull the battery out to get ESN and Model - phone won't die with battery pulled at that point)
5 - And follow the prompts
The process does take some time. I have successfully done this many times with success.
Try it out to see if that might help you.
Glad it worked.

What ROM? That will work if you still have access to a reset method inside the UI. If you have a ROM on there you must be running MDK, can't you just wipe the data off the phone with CWM or TWRP? The Root binary should be un-installed when you boot back up. Just delete the SuperSu app and you should be home free.

After the data wipe you could reinstall the original ROM couldn't you? Long as you have the file on your microsd card. That would probably just reflash your ROM though, it may not erase the binaries. Damn. Well I'm sure there is a way to do it like this. It's just been a while since I've messed around with the TWRP recovery mode.
Do you have cwm on the phone. . If you do your sol. You can't wipe that without an odin to my knowledge. . But if your just rooted.. triangle away. .undo root. Remove su factory reset. . Should be clear. .

Hey so I'm in a similar boat - I have a Verizon S4 with the ME7 firmware that the usb port will no longer connect and won't charge unless the phone is off (and only when it's plugged in to a computer, not a wall). It was rooted so I followed the instructions above to unroot it.
But here's where I think I'm in trouble - I had loaded the TWRP bootloader before I found out it wouldn't work with the ME7 firmware, and never bothered flashing the phone back (stupid, I know). Is there no way to flash back to stock rom via the SD card? Right now when I go into recovery mode, it just goes to the "Downloading" screen. Does anybody know a way I can get TWRP off?
Sorry hope I'm not thread-jacking but this is the most relevant thread I've found to ask this in.

The only way I know to solve your problem is to reflash ME7 using ODIN. If you have the ME7 firmware already you can't use the TWRP or CWM recovery partitions at all. With out those operating your stuck using ODIN and your USB port. Have you tried another cable?

Yeah I've tried a couple different cables, a couple different pc's, a couple different chargers. It will only charge when it's off, connected to a pc. When turning it on "usb cable connected" flashes up top, even though it's not. When it is connected and turned on and below 15%, it tells you to connect to a power source. I searched this and low and behold, several other s4 owners are having the same issue. It started happening two nights ago after I didn't get the phone on a charger before it died, then I charged it overnight - next morning it wouldn't start up. I don't think it has anything to do with having the twrp bootloader though, because it had been on there a couple weeks and restarted more than once with no issues.
If anyone knows how to fix the usb thing, I've got...lets say a $50 reward up for grabs. Not much but it's all I can afford to not void my warranty.

The problem with the custom recovery partition you have on there is that it prevents you from doing a factory reset in the settings menu. At least as far as I'm aware. If mobile ODIN worked on our phones I would say download that and re-flash with the tar file on your msd card. SafeStrap might be a way to give this a try. I can't link to another forum in here but I would look into that.
Maybe replace the usb port yourself

Well I'm not exactly sure what did it, but I used a small flathead screwdriver to bend the connector inside the usb port up a little, as I read that can be an issue with these phones, and used an old cable from a blackberry, and one of the two let me get it connected to the pc and flashed back to the stock rom via ODIN. Still won't charge with any combination of wall chargers/cables, so I'm going to take it in to Verizon. But it's a huge sigh of relief knowing that they won't be able to claim I damaged it by putting a custom bootloader on. Thanks for the input. Hope OP gets his problems sorted also.

That may have been true, I might have been trying the wrong buttons to get to recovery. Still learning some stuff. But the twrp loader definitely changed the splash and download screen enough that I needed to get it off so that no red flags will be thrown when I take it in to Verizon to have them look at it.
Thanks for everybody's help! I managed to connect to ODIN by pushing the usb in different ways until I got a connection and sent it back to Verizon completely stock

[Q] Help! Hard Bricked Verizon i605 Note 2

My phone is a verizon galaxy note 2 USA verizon that took the vram ota update. Then this -
Hello,
To make a long story as short as possible. I used Adam Outlers Casual to flash my phone to beanstown's "jellybeans" rom. Everything was fine until I didnt like the volume not being able to go high. So using odin I checked the "nand erase all" like an idiot and flashed back to the stock unrooted rom using the pit file and the unrooted stock md5.
Now what happens:
Now the phone boots up but might be stuck in read only mode I am not sure and need help. Because when plugged into the computer it shows -104843489764 bytes for storage and won't let anything download to the phone. When I turned the cam on it says "not enough memory" and the worst part is it says "no sim card" and can't connect to the network for phone calls, texts or internet.
I can enter download mode. I can enter recovery mode. But all my attempts at using the repartition button while flashing again to stock rom did not work. I believe maybe I somehow have to format and repartition the internal storage? It won't let me flash clockworkmod using odin so I guess I have unrooted it. Im just mentioning all the things I have tried. Thank you very much for any help you can give.
Try refreshing the PIT file in Odin which should fix all of the partitions.
Also, a hard brick is only when your phone won't turn on, period. You have a soft brick which should be fixable.

Thank you for your help Sir.
I have the PIT file, and I used that when I flashed back to the stock verizon rom using Odin. Is there a way to use it by itself?

You should be able to open Odin and Judy flash it by itself. No extra steps needed.

Hello again,
This thread for the galaxy s3 shows how to unbrick the phone that is in read-only mode. I know mine is too just like it says but I cant find the files for my phone or any other information on how to get my verizon note 2 out of read only or make sure it is formatted correctly to reinstall the stock rom. Here is the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840030
"Sometimes when you flash a ROM (TouchWiz or AOSP), there is a risk of the /system and /data partitions not wiping correctly thus leading them to be formatted with R/O permissions rather than R/W. This makes it impossible for the phone to boot up because no data can be written."
What really concerns me also is when it's plugged in through USB and I click the drive for the internal storage it shows as having -1049874323 bytes of space instead of the usual 9gig free.
Email me with snapshot of the problem.... Nikhil.kdhand at gmail.com
