Stuck on boot (Samsung Galaxy S4 Splash) - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

I have had my S4 (SCH I545) rooted for at least a year now, and today while I was walking down a sidewalk to my house I felt my phone vibrate. Thinking I received a message, I pulled it out, and was greeted by the white "Samsung Galaxy S4" boot splash. 5 minutes before, I was using my phone normally. Battery was on at least 50%. Since then, I have been completely unable to boot up my phone. I can only turn it off by removing the battery - it is completely frozen. Booting into (TeamWin) recovery works, and I backed up my phone to an SD card before completely wiping it. Even after the wipe I am still stuck on the splash screen. Again, I was not attempting to change anything, only using the phone normally. Nothing OS-related on my phone has changed since I rooted it a year ago. Have never even updated .Any ideas? I've been looking for hours.
EDIT: Plugging the phone into either an outlet or a computer will cause it to freeze on a picture of an empty battery with a (non-moving) loading circle. It is still completely unable to be interfaced with in any way (Other than recovery booting).

What battery percentage does twrp say?

You should charge it in twrp, then push a ROM or backup to your phone.

So I got it working fine after flashing from odin. Today I flashed a Google Play edition ROM and it seems to be working fine with one exception, messages are not being received. The default messaging app will not open at all (Crashes immediately). Using Hangouts will allow me to send messages (confirmed with another device) but even after wiping messaging data and clearing cache I cannot receive texts. Any ideas?
EDIT: I tried flashing to a more updated version of the Google Play edition and apparently now my bootloader is locked because I got message saying to go to a verizon store for help. Guessing I now need to use Odin install a default to re-unlock the bootloader?
UPDATE: Tried to use ez-unlock considering I am on android 4.2.2 with MDK and I hard bricked my phone. Why did that just happen?

[Q] Freezing after restoring to stock via moto update

Ok my atrix is acting very weird, sometimes it freezes when trying to unlock (slider gets stuck). Today i was unable to send a text (i had all bars), when i hit send i got a message saying 'unavailable'. Sometimes when i try to power off, it freezes during the 'powering off...' popup. Sometimes when i turn it on, it takes like 2-3 minutes on the at&t logo.
The keyword is SOMETIMES. unpredictable behavior.
I was running cm7 (rooted and unlocked bootloader), and i restored to the latest at&t firmware via the motohelper on my pc (not ota). i read that you could restore that way and it will unroot you.
So the restore seemed to be successful. I didn't test to see if i was actually unrooted, but the 'unlocked' text on boot was gone (but i could still hold down vol down and get the fastboot menu, but was unable to get into android recovery.)
So im getting random freezing that i need to fix. The original purpose of restoring was so i could receive ota updates as needed.
im on firmware 4.5.141.mb860.att.en.us
android 2.3.6
any ideas??
Any advice on what I should do would be great. I just need it to become usable again.

[SOLVED!] Any way to bypass HTC setup screen? Stuck on HTC logo all white.

Hello everyone!
I'm having some trouble right now, My phone was updated with the AT&T update because my phone prompted me about the update. I updated my phone and successfully updated the phone. I installed all of my backup apps from Titanium back, but when I restarted my phone after the apps were installed my phone booted up but said that NFC stopped working dailer stopped working, basically everything was not working - i couldnt even do anything with the phone. What I did was I tried doing a factory reset via TWRP but it didn't work. I also cleared the Dalvik and Cache but didnt work either.
I locked my bootloader and thought I would flash the RUU for my device. everything went fine untill the RUU displayed an "unknown bootloader version". I tried downloading the RUU again but it didnt seem to work.
I installed Elegancia through ADB install went through perfectly untill I reboot into the phone the HTC screen with the white background does not go anywhere. I occasionally get a pop up that says "stopped responding would you like to stop the program". I downloaded the Mongoose custom rom for my phone, again install went fine no problems. but once again when I boot into the phone I still get stuck on the HTC white background. This time the phone has a black screen with the status bar with the icons of the battery time and an x on the signal icon then the phone restarts.
What is going on with my phone? How can I reinstall an OS and get my phone working again?
any help would be greatly appreciated!
Since you have done the update, you will have to flash the ROM of this thread, everything you need to know is in this post.

[Q] Update to 45.4.13

Folks,
Phone was acting very odd today...had to force close a bunch of apps. Rebooted, phone looked as it went back to factory reset since I was asked to re-enter my google account info. Once I did that, all my icons were set back to default but otherwise, all apps/data were there. However, texting didn't work. Updated my profile. Afterwards, I get a notification that update to 45.3.6 was available so...I updated. All seemed well but still...no texting and still had to force close a bunch of apps. Later, I received notification that 45.4.13 was available so...I updated. This update got stuck and all I saw was the infamous rectangle/Andoid Icon. I rebooted and it would just hang at the Dual Core MOTO logo. Cleared cache...no dice. Finally, hard reset to factory. Still...no boot. Hangs on Dual Core Logo. Using recovery, went to see if I could install update via Sdcard. It wasn't there to use.
Question...what the f*uck do I do now?? Phone is not rooted. Can I transfer 45.4.13 to sdcard using file transfer from my laptop somehow. If oyu choose to offer help, please be as detailed as possible since I am no expert by far!
Thanks!

Samsung Galaxy S3 resetting

Good afternoon all,
I have recently updated my Samsung Galaxy S3 via kies to Android 4.3. I couldn't do the update over the air as it was rooted. I had to go through and root my phone again through Odin and again all that went fine.
However since doing this I have had to restore my device 2 times as it shuts down every now and then and I find I 'lose' some apps...mainly games, which I find annoying. It also wipes any saved text messages.
At first I thought it was only losing apps that I'd downloaded through other means (i.e. not Play) but it appears not. I still have the apk files stored on the phone and have tried to re-install them but I get a message of 'app not installed'
Can anyone tell me why this is the case? As I have previously said it has only been since updating to Android 4.3. Not sure if it is due to rooting my phone (i'm guessing not).
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Chris

See multiple posts re OTA and root problems.
Suggest factory reset if that does not fix then flash stock 4.3 through Odin .
I know that I can't do OTA updates... My problem is that the phone will restart, without warning and when it reboots I have lost all my text messages and a few apps. Trying to reinstall the apk files gives me the error 'app not installed'
I have tried factory reset both through the recovery mode and the system settings, but nothing resolves it.
My phone is rooted and runs Android 4.3 which was updated through kies.
The apps it loses are games so that's not a major issue... It's all the text messages.
I have a very similar problem, phone always shuts down and restarts on it's own. A couple of times it has lost some apps but usually it just starts up again fine but it's very annoying. Sometimes it gets stuck in a boot loop too.
A Google search for random reboot or random shut down brings up a lot of results but no solution's, so it seems to be a common problem. It's not just the stock rom either as it still does it when rooted and running other roms.

Stuck on Verizon Logo after reboot? (Saferooted for months, no changes)

So I've had the Note 2 since it came out, and I safe-rooted it about 6 months ago because I had MJ9 an;d couldn't unlock the bootloader. Currently I'm on 4.3 MJ9 with saferoot and no custom ROMs on.Everything worked fine until yesterday where I updated a few Xposed modules and rebooted. Here's what happened:
1. The phone got stuck on the Verizon logo for about 15 minutes, and began to get a little hotter than usual, but not hot enough to be considered overheated.
2. A message saying "Upgrading Android apps" appeared, but I'm pretty sure that's never happened before when rebooting after updating Xposed modules.
3. Once the phone loaded up, I kept getting spammed the "Google Play Services has stopped working" and "com.google.process.gapps has stopped working" messages. Searching up a way to fix this error did not yield and results.
4. Bloatware I had uninstalled months ago (Amazon, Amazon Kindle, Google News, Google Music, etc.) were all reinstalled for no apparent reason. I wanted to assume this was because something got corrupted and the phone restarted with a backup of my phone's entire memory, but that couldn't have happened because the bloatware was uninstalled 6 months ago when I saferooted the phone.
5. I uninstalled the bloatware, cleared the dalvik cache, and reset app preferences, thenrebooted once again. Now my phone is stuck at the Verizon logo.
Thanks to anyone who can help me out.

I would do a factory reset in stock recovery. See if that gets you back up.. If not you may have to Odin MJ9 stock img. Sounds like xposed is the problem here..

I guessed it would have come to that, so I took out mu SD card and found out that it became corrupt because of a mounting script, and now rebooting my phone works perfectly.
