skin protection - Xperia Z2 Accessories

Okay so I've got nilken screen, love it.
Got ghost armour matte clear back and likebitbtoo.
Looking for somethings cover the rest.. Either black or clear, something that will cover edge to edge for a little protection from minor drops
I don't want to use a case (that's why I got z2 - waterproof/dustproof).

Ok there's gotta be a skin out there..
Looking for full body protection!

You could contact bestskinsever.com. They don't have the Z2 at the moment. But you could ask them when they will. Or you could send your phone in (if you can miss it for a while). Then they will make you one and take it up in their collection.
Kinda strange how they don't try and get new models as a loaner to make all the templates. But that's their choice.
Or you could buy the large uncut and cut it yourself. Useful when you have multiple screens you want to protect. Cutting out sides is just as easy.
BSE is on par with BodyGuardz IMHO.

skinomi skin is junk

The skinomi dark wood skin is kinda junky. It is darker than the one shown on the web. It does not completely cover the back, i am sure the backs are all the size so for it to be too small means they didnt really try to get it right. It comes with lots of small pieces but no instructions or diagrams to show where they go. None of them seem to go anywhere because none really fit in length around the edges or bevels. The top edge is long and uninterrupted but no piece is that long. The back skin constantly bubbles up around the edge. Overall its a poor fit and a poor design. With laser cutting you would think someone could get a perfect size and fit. If you are happy with average then go for it, if you want near perfect then look elsewhere.
thats weird..
most people hailed skinomi for their skin for our tf. Possibly you got a bad one? call them up and explain it to them. apparently their customer service is top notch and they will replace it for ya. worth a shot
I agree with uploder
Skinomi customer service is great. If you want to complain about the product complain to them. But, I have the dark wood skin on both my TF and HTC phone, and I am satisfied with the quality. True, the fit could be a little better for the large back piece, but it ain't that bad. I didn't use any of the small edge pieces because I didn't want to cover up the nice aluminum. I just used the large back piece and two front side edge pieces. It hasn't peeled or bubbled up around the edges at all. The installation is not easy to get right, so if you screwed it up, don't blame the product.
I love there skin on my atrix

invisible shield disappointment

Hello , I bought the invisible shield 2 weeks ago
And im very disappointment , the touch not good , not smooth
Alot of Dust and dirt even after 2 with no use
Alot Of fingrprints
There is screen protector that really do the job?
Of course there is a good protector: XTREME GUARD
I love the Skinomi. It's cut yo for the dock as well. Very smooth to the touch bit shows the glare quite a bit. The feel is much more important to me so it was an easy tradeoff.

as far as screen protectors go i actually LIKE invisible shield. It does the job well and tends to be (in my area anyways) less expensive. its also damn near indistructable so when im doing construction my phone screen doesnt take a beating (gorilla glass has three scratches from before i put the IS on it)
as for on the prime, ya it adds a bit of texture. there are thinner variations of the same material that do pretty much the same thing. You are looking for one that has an oileophobic coating on it to repel fingerprints (like the glass on the prime has), i know they make them i just cant think of the brand right now.... Some special brand i think you can only special order them. Not sure on quality but the oileophobic ones are definately what you want for fingerprints.
Theres also those kiosks that started popping up everywhere, forget their name like skreenguard or stealthguard or something, the material is very thin but its the same stuff... It would likely feel smoother because its thinner but its also more expensive. Usually they have devices around the kiosk that have the material on them, you can judge for yourself if you like it or not.
Honestly nothing is going to feel exactly like glass. There are some that are close however IMO they offer less protection. Try looking at friends phones and asking what kind of screen protector they have on them, go to the various cell phone booths in your area and talk to the guys there. When you find a brand you like the feel of it then see if you can get a sheet big enough for the prime.
Another trick: you dont HAVE to get a screen protector designed specifically for the prime. On the back of my tablet to prevent scratching i have a SP designed for the galaxy tab. On the front i used one for the TF101 and (carefully, with an extremely sharp set of scissors and knife and a LOT of patience) cut out for the dock connector. Saved myself nearly $50 doing it this way since they were both on clearance when i bought em. They are not a perfect fit but close enough for my needs.
I've tried the ArmorSuit, Skinomi and ACase screen protectors.
My personal favorite is the dry apply (there are two different types) ACase screen protectors.
They are about as close to clear and invisible, once applied, as any screen protector I've ever used. They also don't have any texture or orange peel to them.
You also get three to a pack, but I'd probably recommend them even if it was only for one protector in a pack.
(Make sure to purchase the dry apply version)

Slippery - Need some way to add grip without a big case?

The 920 feels really slippery to be. I'm sure I'll drop it at some point when using it one-handed.
I don't want a big protective case, but just something to add texture to the back of the phone.
Is there some kind of texturized skin I could stick on? (Ideally with no residue if I remove it)
Or some other rubber that would stick on the back?
Or even a really thin silicon case?
I can't be the only one with this problem, has anyone else noticed this and found a good solution?

I agree that the phone is slippery ... and I started by using a gel case ... which worked, and it had knobby grips on the edges of the case -- and that worked very well to stop dropping the phone (I did that several times before I put the case on it).
Then I tried a phone with the Nokia CC-1043 case ... but that also was too slippery for me. I tried some egrip (they are non sticky things that will "stick" to most any surface ... and if you want something on the back of the phone -- there are pads that are 1" by 2" (about) that would work. However, for me, I wanted something on the edges -- so that I could get it out on the vertical holster that I use. The egrips on the edges did not stay formed along the curve of the case ... so I modified the CC-1043 with some grooves on the edges -- which really works great!
I was going to post some pictures, but I don't have access to a web site for the insertion ... If you send me a private message, I can send you the pictures ...
The grooves were made using a bandsaw with a block of wood taking the place of the phone to provide stability to the case as it was cut ... and there was a block of wood to stop how far into the blade that the case would go, and resulted in a cut that is about 1/2 mm deep ... it provides enough grip to grab the phone out of the case and while holding it -- most of what my hand / fingers are touching are the edges of the phone ...
It depends on which color you have. The blue and red are not as slippery. But I have Ghost armor on mine and it gives it a slightly tacky feel in addition to protecting it from scratches. Mine is red.
I have the black one (matte finish).
Is this the egrips you mentioned? http://www.egrips.com/
It sounds like that might be too much grip. I don't want to have trouble getting the phone into/out of my pocket. I just want more grip so that I don't constantly feel like it's going to fly out of my hand.
I looked at the case you mentioned here and it sounds good: http://www.amazon.com/Nokia-02733P4-CC-1043-Cover-Lumia/dp/B009T8YXCA but having some texture built-in would be nice (as opposed to your DIY grooves).
So I looked at related products and found the following:
http://www.amazon.com/Worldshopping-Black-Matte-Quicksand-Accessories/dp/B00A1Z3U3S/ref=pd_sim_cps_7
http://www.amazon.com/JKase-Premium-Quality-Nokia-Streamline/dp/B00A1UPHYS/ref=pd_sim_cps_17 (the sides of this seem ideal)
http://www.amazon.com/Fosmon-Series-Protective-Nokia-Lumia/dp/B009YLCFZY/ref=pd_sim_cps_3 (don't like the color)
http://www.amazon.com/NOKIA-LUMIA-HYBRID-RUBBERISED-COVER/dp/B009YB0P5G/ref=sr_1_1 (mentioned by a reviewer above)
Can anyone speak for those cases? Probably going to make a decision between those 5 in a day or so.
I had a case like the JKase ... and it is OK, but it adds some noticeable weight to the phone ... it is the one with knobby sides ... it has a very thin strip along the front-bottom of the case that is along the micro USB connector and the speakers ... it never was straight, but it also didn't seem to provide much function ... read other posts that said that they cut it off ...
Don't know about the other cases ...
The egrips link that you have are the ones that I tried ... I always use a case and never just in the pocket -- so I don't know if it would cause a problem ...
Like I said, I like the Nokia case after the modification ... before it, it was still at risk of being dropped ...

The cc-1043 cases is matte see my ebay sale!
Electrical tape to a thin plastic case.
Simple, thin, and adds a lot of grip. However, it can cause issues if you work in a very hot environment as the tape will goop and slip. Otherwise, I do this with almost all of my devices.
Add texture to slippery cell phone
To make your phone less slippery, you can add textured stickers to it. The kind that you would put on the bottom of the bathtub to prevent slips.
I bought some good ones at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. You can cut them into any shape you want. They were actually shaped like fish. I cut them into strips and put a few on the back of the phone and on the sides.
You can find them in many colors.
Amazon has a good selection.
Surprised nobody has mentioned Ghost Armor. It's perfect for what you want.
I bought their MatteArmor for the back of my Samsung Galaxy tablet and to provide a matte finish instead of it's slippery plastic.
Increased holdability (made up word lol) and maintains the look of the device because it's transparent and thin.
It's that good I paid to have it shipped from the USA to UK. Lifetime warranty, 30 day money-back guarantee
Here's a link to the Lumia range but they do literally any device.
Just bought silicone case from dx.com. Transparent, back side is matted. Not bad for this price, but flash working incorrect - fills all the frame because case scatters light
I'm a a sailing captain and watch people dropping their phones all the time, breaking glass and going overboard. I looked for a solution and couldn't find on that fit the bill as being easy to use, no installation, fits most phones and cases, so I invented one for me. People wanted one, so I patented it and just started production. Just search CellGrasp in google. You'll find me. Drop me a note and you can check it out at the site. Dropping cell phones is a real and growing problem. CellGrasp is a device that is a solution to the problem. Simple, easy, secure, better pics and vids instantly. Just for your information...

Whats the best way to protect against scratches without lossing aesthetics?

I want to buy the white S7. For some reason it was never released in my country (Spain) not sure if it wasn't released in Europe as a whole. I don't know who takes these stupid ass decissions but whatever. The S7 white here is rare, it's more expensive, and I think they will not repair it if it breaks... idiots.
Anyway, so I want to be safe and protect against any scratches etc. How do I protect the phone without making it looking ugly with a goofy ass bulky case?
Gadgetshieldz full body protector. It's a wet installation and makes your phone have a naked look yet gives superb grip and scratch protection. Very satisfied with it. Using for past 3 months. Wish I had bought it sooner.
As replied above GS is the only alternative as of now. Just two things- their support sucks and keep your installed protector clean otherwise it will come off.
Well I realized GS will not help if my phone falls.
I think I may buy this one for the S7:

You don't even need a screen protector unless you are walking in a rocky surface or something which I will not be doing. I have NEVER droped my formed phones and if I ever drop it it will be the casual slip from the hand of a 5'9'' guy so not that much of a fall, looks like Rhinoshield is the best and they got a white one so it will look nice on my white S7.
The only critiques i've read is that the volume and home buttons become a bit stiff... not a problem, I don't need to constantly press the side buttons. I unlock the phone with the fingerprint so who cares about side home button. The volume buttons are also always set to the same and I barely touch that.
i can highly recommend ringke slim s7 (frost grey). Solid protection, very slim and it looks very elegant

Just bought the ringke slim aswell, and it sits nice in your hand and doesn't add too much to the overall size of the phone. Its a real pain to install a screen protector film on this phone because of the arched corners though! :cyclops:

do NOT buy slickwraps skins

Hi everyone, just wanna let y'all know of the really bad experience I've had with slick wraps continuously over these years. I honestly don't know why there is even such a comparison ( dbrand or slickwraps ), there is no need for competition, assuming that what you want is quality, dbrand would win in every possible aspect. I have previously ordered vinyl skins for my OnePlus 2 and they have continuously been of low quality, aside from the really bad print of their black marble skins. the color itself can so easily be scratched off and it is so thin that its really uncomfortable to put on. Now fast forward to my op5, I ordered a alcantara skin from them and was really excited. I checked back 3 days later and realised that it hasnt been shipped yet, I contact them and they continuously told me that it was a factory issue and kept persisting I switch the material of skin I ordered. I refused and about 1 ****ing month later they finally shipped. I received the product, and when I opened it , I was truly shocked , the skin itself was so goddamn thick it couldn't even fit with my rhinoshield, but apart from that the adhesive within the ****ing skin spilled over the edges and the OnePlus logo, leading a disgusting greenish tint all over.
tl:dr : Don't buy skins from slickwraps, dbrand and even other companies like gadget shields and xtreme skins are far superior in terms of quality .
Heres a picture

I finally received my Honeycomb skin and I'm extremely disappointed with it, there's a lot of small bubbles even though I applied it carefully.
Like yourself I also use it with a rhinoshield and I agree on the thickness issue, it's made the buttons almost non-responsive and the notification slider extremely hard to use. I understand if someone was using it without a bumper they might be glad of the extra thickness for protection but, tbh, EVERYONE should be using a case on their phone anyway.
Such a shame.
I don't know if the bubbles are due to the pattern on the skin. I also had to pay a Royal Mail fee and import taxes which ended up being almost the same price as the skin itself. They were nice enough to give me a credit but, if I'm paying over the odds just to order one of their products then a credit is next to useless.
Won't be ordering from them again.

yep , exactly, their skins are just of such low quality it is unbelievable that people still buy from them and regard them as one of the largest skin companies
Had a bad one from xtreme skinz.
Simply put and to cut a long story short.
They just aren't DBrand, even though they claim that it's the same gear, well it certainly didn't feel like it and it peeled.
I can fit these buggers very well as I've dealt with them for years (skins) but they just weren't of the same quality.
Stick with DBrand if you need a skin, however I'd personally say avoid all of them and stick with a non abrasive case (some cases will scratch the oh so fragile back of the oneplus)
Rant over :good:

Yep, Xtreme skins aren't as good as dbrand but certainly not as bad as slickwraps . I personally aren't a fan of cases at all , the best setup for me would be a skin with a bumper ( rhinoshield ) for both the freedom to customize and the protection from that awesome bumper .

Aye I do like Rhino. I've had that set up before.
Have to say I (touch wood) don't drop my phone, at all really.
Safety and aesthetically the best combo I've had wasn't on this phone, it was my S5, Tech 21 smokey and a zagg I think it was, TGSP, but the TGSP's I've had for this phone have been appalling, so I think either what you've said, a rhino with skin on the back and a matte.
Or the Karbon case I've got with the matte I'm using..
Feel wise, the Karbon just feels superb, wouldn't fancy a big drop though.
Tech 21 I've actually seen one get launched down some stairs and at a wall and it was completely unhurt.
