[Q] Multiple users? - Xperia Z2 Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a $200 credit towards any Verizon tablet and the Z2 is one of the top candidates right now. My only question is can it support multiple users? I played with one in store this morning and couldn't find a setting for it anywhere, and I've google'd to no end. I'm guessing it doesn't but just wanted to confirm... TIA!

Wifi only has multiuser. LTE doesn't.

There is "Multi Users" Xposed module.

Oddly enough about the time Xposed became popular I stopped tinkering and rooting and all that. This tablet seems pretty incredible though, so I might have to get back into it again if that's the only way.

SMS/Texting Problem, HTC Rezound a GLOBAL PHONE [BOUNTY][$195+ So Far]

Okay I am speaking mainly to Developers/Devs here
To get all the information on this issue please visit my thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421341
I know this may not be in the right place to post, but I have had no luck after over two months of my thread being replied to and also being all over the internet (Droidlife, GSMARENA, phandroid etc...) so I'm trying to spread the word to ftully Fix/Solve the SMS/texting issue (Not being able to send texts) so the HTC Rezound can be a fully global phone
The suggested possible causes of the issue are either a Radio related problem, which would require porting/making a hybrid radio and also S-OFF. But the main one I am thinking sounds more worth trying for is the suggestion that the Framework is incorrect/needs a bit of tweaking and this would allow the HTC Rezound to send texts/SMS on GSM and/or HSPA networks (I use HSPA)
So please could someone willing look into this and try and fix/solve as this would be very beneficial to us all (being able to use this phone abroad/on holiday for example )
Also some people, including me, cannot connect to DATA/3G without a method which makes it 'kick in', so if this issue was also looked at it would be Great!!!

Buddy, this isn't the right forum for this thread. I assume everyone who cares about this issue has seen your thread in the general forum. This is a Verizon phone. 99.9% of the people who own this phone are Verizon customers. There are very few people who care about this issue enough to do something about it. It is very unlikely that we are going to get S-Off as we can flash roms/kernels with what we have. Plus, the work that it would take to develop a hybrid radio would probably be significant.
That said. If everything except SMS works, how about just using email to SMS your friends or a free texting app? Yes, it is not ideal, but this phone is not meant to be used over anything aside from CDMA, EvDo, and LTE.

And to the OP, will Google Talk work overseas? Wouldn't that be the best way since SMS doesn't work? Just a thought.

basically lol... The people who use this to the hours spent making this happen ratio would be so low it wouldn't even be funny.
Okay guys
See when I ask nicely for people willing to help, I don't expect to see people telling me why it wouldn't work or people trying to be funny? And
And I said in the post if you read properly that the possible fix I would suggest Dev's to work on would be the Framework, NOT THE RADIO PROBLEM AS WE DON'T HAVE S-OFF
And this is XDA-Developers, the place where issues no matter how small can be solved
I will ignore this and say to everyone unless its helpful/Nice ,don't post

Also, this is in the wrong place, moving to general.

May have found a way to get google wallet on AT&T S2 Need yalls help

Hey guys. I may have found a way to get google wallet working on AT&T S2. I was searching the web and found a link (will post in a few) that stated he patched the google wallet apk so it wouldnt read your device or carrier and you could install it by using root explorer and giving correct permissions. Have to install to /system/apps. Im currently trying to install now. Its stuck on initializing google wallet tho. This is much further than i have gotten before trying to install from market (not supported on your device/carrier error.) Anyway just wanted to know if this is a step forward in getting google wallet on AT&T S2?
Rooted running AOKP Rom build 37 BTW.
Edit:found out i cant post links yet.
screen shots
Screen shots. Look at the google wallet icon in top corner. And blue screen google wallet is stuck on. Any help/suggestions, ideas how to get this thing to work? I'm a newbie btw so crush my dreams and crush em hard if im not going/getting anywhere with this "discovery" LOL.
You won't get anywhere. Google Wallet requires a hardware NFC secure element to function. The Galaxy S2 does not have this.
That explains the logcat at that I got awhile back that said a secure element could not be found.

I was going to post the link i got it from you maybe you guys could see where i got it from, but i have to do a couple more post before i can do that. well, guess we have to wait on ISIS (2013????!!! nationwide) before we can use a NFC payment app on the AT&T Galaxy S2

I'm not so sure of this. After all, I've seen messages in dmesg about wiping the secure element.
I was kinda thinking there has to be a way as well. Im fb and twitter friends with the guy zedomax who does youtube reviews on roms and how-tos. He said he was going to post a video on how to get it at the end of the week. I was specific when i told him which phone i have and twice he said there is a way (once when i asked on fb and another time when i asked on twitter). So im waiting to hear from him and then i will post again if any results.

Where is your evidence of this?
You claim there is no secure element - but when I first got NFC up and running on CM9, the first thing it did was wipe the secure element because it was a first boot.

Started a petition to get back some features...

Doubt it'll work anyway, but it was worth a shot. If you have a second to sign it, and feel it may be worth it in any way. I just want what everyone else has on their Note 2, and feel I shouldn't have to root my phone just to get some stock features. Ridiculous.
Or you could enable unknown sources and download the .apk and install it that way.
Sent from my rooted, and unlocked Vzw note 2 running beans Rom! U mad?
SPlanner Widget missing is probably a bug. It is on the phone but broken.
Blocking Mode doesn't seem to work with CDMA, which is probably why its blocked by CSC.
APN editing is blocked via CSC but could be unlocked by Verizon if someone didn't want to root.
The wifi thing isn't a missing feature, but its definitely an annoyance.
What else are you referring to?

Then on what basis are you making the claim of it being a CDMA issue? I just made a thread in the Sprint forums asking users to report their experience with Blocking Mode, or if they even have the ability to use it stock out of the box. We'll see if it really is a CDMA issue or not.
This thread is a bomb ready to explode.

I probably should have said Verizon's network instead of just cdma. I always forget about Sprint.
It seems to be network related because the software is mostly the same between variants.

Well there goes that.
So either Verizon's network has problems or they're being jerks and purposely butchered it so it wouldn't work.

I see you're complaining but you didn't state the reason why you are petitioning for. Can you be more specific?
Petition
I'm going to attempt to try and post a link, the best I can. I just want the features that should be included on the phone, without rooting it. I do plan on rooting the phone, however as the workaround for the bootloader has only just been accomplished recently, and a lot of the stylus features have yet to be worked into most of the ROMs, that I've seen anyway, I'm holding off until something special perks my interest.
In general, I'm just against Verizon butchering the phone, and needlessly at that. I'm not bashing rooting, or saying I don't want to, I'm simply saying I don't want to root the phone to gain access to stock features that should've been included with the phone in the first place. Its just a little backwards from my view.
change.org /petitions/verizon-wireless-give-us-back-the-functionality-we-deserve-on-our-note-2
Yeah that petition is going nowhere.
Heck, TMobile just got Multiwindow in an OTA last week. They didn't even have the function on stock.
Meh.

Who are we ask for features from Companies?
Only thing we can do is, give feedback. Companies don't listen to us for their decision. And definately not Petitions.
Its a good thing that you have started the initiative, and even i have participated, but the thing is, it don't work
I would say if you're that upset about Verizon's lack of features either root it and fix it or go to another carrier.
I guarantee Verizon could care less about some silly petition.

And it seems like Lollipop official may be coming out next month since Sony Mobile YS updated their site to include the Z4v. I'm not entirely too impressed due to the fact battery life lessened to 22 hours of usage unlike the Z3v with 26 hours.

Do you think you'll be able to get a pre-rooted version of this? I'm in a quandary cause I have a replacement Z3V coming tomorrow. If this is released tomorrow maybe I'll just use stock until a root solution for 5.1.1 comes out. Advice?
I loved being proven wrong sometimes...this is one of those times.
The possibility exists they have patched the root exploits finally and that is why they are releasing it. I have a z2 Verizon tablet and at the moment there is no root for lollipop
Pleasantly surprised! Thought for sure this phone was done getting updates and i was stuck on nonrooted 5.0.2. I flashed it before rooting like an idiot

Thanks, GigaSPX. An you give a few examples?
Now that I have a second z3V I'm opened to testing some things, so long as there is a somewhat reasonable main of error against "embrickment". I might require more paience than most because of where I'm at on the learning curve.
BTW, this update pretty much fulfills both Sony and Verizon's obligations to the z3V stepchild as Iunderstand it, so most likely no Marshmallow just because this is coming, correct?

BTW, this update pretty much fulfills both Sony and Verizon's obligations to the z3V stepchild as Iunderstand it, so most likely no Marshmallow just because this is coming, correct?

Well the future seems pretty bleak between Sony and Verizon over this phone because Sony is really just done trying to work with Verizon over these update issues. One thing I can definitely let you guys know though is there is a high likely chance the bootloader unlock is about to become a real thing.
Other than that, the Z series is finished now. No plans for the Z6 as Sony has transitioned their portfolio for the new X series. I somewhat knew that because of the X Performance specs, that has to be their latest flagship. Your guys' thoughts?

Do you have any info on if the Z1s bootloader is about to be able to be unlocked as well? That would be amazing and make the wait for my next phone sometime this year a lot easier.

Anyone get it yet?
Z3v Software Update
Software Version: 23.4.B.0.319
and the surprise; i had an update message via sony bridge for like 2 month ago but i keep getting : error 1100 consult technical support … "when i try to upgrade"
Well what do you know there is an update, wonders never cease, will reserve further comments until it is actually confirmed rolling out.
Haven't gotten it yet here in Texas.
I guess the natives got to restless with the pitchforks and all.
Now just have to decide if I want the S5 or keep the Z3v, seeing this will more than likely be the last update this phone gets and the S5 will get Marshmallow for sure. And Advanced Calling 2.0 is right around the corner (Wi-Fi calling) and 5g.
If the bootloader gets unlocked then I would keep the Z3v, but the S5 has custom ROMs right now, root and bootstrap working.
Just got complicated.

Only article that says it will come in batches. I have both. I actually have to have my sim in my z2 tablet to even search for an update.
And of course I just sold mine, as in the last 10hrs
Why the presumption of the bootloader unlock possibility? How does the fact (yet to be proved) that they'll update to lollipop increase the odds that the bootloader will be unlocked?
