Guys,
I'm setting up my mother-in-law's new phone.
I don't seem to be able to add birthday, anniversary dates, etc to a contact unless I link all the contacts to Google; something I don't want to do.
Any ideas how to do this without attaching to Google?
TIA

I'm new to Android, have a non-rooted Tranformer TF101 and prefer to keep it that way for now. I need a stand-alone, non-syncing calendar app that allows me to add typed notes to each day's appointments and to attach .jpg and - here's the impossible part - .pdf files to each appointment. I also want password protection for the entire clendar.
I tried Jorte, but can't add .jpg or .pdf files to the appointments - unless I just can't figure out how, which I'm not ruling out. I've tried Private Diary. While it's not in the monthly calendar view I prefer, I could add .jpg files to each day. . . but then it kept crashing.
I love my Sunbird calendar and would go all-Android if there were something like it available. Anyone want to write this app for me? I'm a lawyer and I know other lawyers would find this useful.
Thanks!
Hi guys,
My brother pricked up a galaxy s 2 yesterday for a new job he has and he needs email on the go - he's not at all familiar with technology so has been slow to get a smartphone but now has no choice. I have a nexus myself so am familiar enough with setting them up. Have managed to add his email account via the built in email app and email sends and receives fine. What it is not doing though is either suggesting an email address when you put in the first few letters or remembering an email address that i have just sent to. I downloaded the gmail app and added a new account to test it on this. Same problem whereby it is not remembering the email address that i have just sent to. I would appreciate any help as he is flying back to Brussels later and needs this for his new job
Many thanks

I don't have this, too.
So only way to get this work is creating a contact.
It will fill up when start writing.
Also u can try other email application (like K9) but I don't think that it is working...
So maybe ur brother create a Contact named f.ex. "JOB" and in this contact he add all the important email adresses... (just an idea)
Hope I helped.

Hey thanks for the reply - i just switched him over to gmail altogether as i couldnt get the other apps to work at all. I know he'll have to type the email address at least once before its saved even in gmail but i think the app is better than the stock one.
Cheers
I've been searching all over and can't seem to find a suitable app for this.
A family member has jumped from an endless parade of dumbphones to an Android based smartphone. Got all setup with a Google account and then I sat for about an hour or so manually entering names and numbers into Google Contacts, so they'll sync all nice and easily to the phone.
Now, no matter how I try to explain it, she doesn't quite get that if you open the contacts list on the phone and select a name, it presents you with all configured numbers, home, cell, work, etc, which you then just tap one to call.
No, she'd rather do extra work and create a separate contact, one for each possible number. "So that it looks like it used to...."
"Mr Contact One (home)"
555-555-5555
"Mr Contact One (cell)"
555-111-5555
"Mr Contact One (work"
555-222-5555
So, does anyone know of a contacts app that displays all numbers in an auto-expanded list? Sort of like...
"Mr Contact One"
\_555-555-5555 (home)
555-111-5555 (cell)
555-222-5555 (work)
Hi,
I am coming from Apple world, now I am an happy user of a Samsung S6. But I was writing an important email when I realized that my favorite email app, Gmail, was not allowing me to make a word in bold or to create a bullet list..crazy!! I checked online and unfortunately didn't find anything yet.. I tried the stock Samsung one and Outlook, both very nice but nothing there too.
Now reconsidering to go back to Apple again..but not before to ask in the XDA forum..
Do you have any idea for solving or why in 2015 there isn't this feature enabled per default yet?
Thanks in advance!

Hi there,
Whatsapp stores ALL media files within ONE huge folder --> I've got about 6000 pictures in it, including much trash pics.
Now I would like to extract/copy all pictures which were send between me and a specific contact (i.e. my girlfriend) to another folder so that I can transfer them on to my computer.
Do you know any way? Is there ANY way of doing it, even it is not only a one-click solution...? Or any third party addon/plugin?
Couldn't find anything when googeling as my keywords gave much too many hits.
Thanks in advance!

Hello and thank you for posting in the Q&A section,
there is no method to export only media of one contact. You can try to press send chat as E-Mail in the chat of you girlfriend and choose the option with media. After that you can send the chat including media to your own E-Mail and download the pictures to your PC. Kind regards, Trafalgar Square
Thanks, I'll try this - but I somehow doubt this could work, as I have about 2500 files sent between me and my girlfriend. Probably too much to be saved as a mail draft in GMail App (
Didnt work, as I thought
