Unable to find out what the 4 modes in the Smart mode settings actually do. Read somewhere on the forum that sensors stay on with SPORT mode but what is the full breakdown of modes and features?

Its going on almost a year later, but I'll answer just in case someone ends up here searching like I did.
Tapping the modes will give a brief explanation on what they do.
Normal mode - TS functions as intended, a mini android phone on your wrist
Sport Mode - Keeps sensors on for fitness tracking
Watch Mode - disables communication functions so it just serves as a watch (though when i enabled it, wifi was still on somehow, but showed as off in the settings menu.)
Companion mode - enables bluetooth (i don't know what happens next because I don't have an android phone I use currently to pair with.

I'm new with Android and do not sure, that some of problems not this phone specific. This is list of problem, that may be fixed, but seems to be not discussed yet:
1. Screen timeout set to Newer off when charger connected (thre is many app, that can do it), but when talking and Phone on the front - device go to sleep after several seconds.
2. Not possible to open Notifications when phone is active. Need to go to home, than switch back to navigation application. To hard, when driving and very hard if phone already sleeping (issue 1)
3. Not possible to switch on camera during voice call.
4. Call recording impossible when Blue Tooth headset in use (recording is possible, but speaking not)
Somebody can check it ?
Many thanks.

How do you manage to press "n" instead of "d"?
Should be in Q&A sub-forum anyway.
1) Design feature, not a bug - Proximity sensor turns screen off so you don't have a bright light shining into your eye while you're talking.
2) Probably a design feature. Why would you need to do this during a call anyway?
3) Do you mean to take a photo or to switch to video call mode? The latter isn't possible as it'd need to re-negotiate the entire connection.
4) Lack of feature, not a bug. Call recording is of questionable legality in some states/countries, hence why Google haven't put much effort into implementating it. The Android bluetooth stack is well known to be sub-par when it comes to audio functions.
I gathered the proximity sensor was tobstop my big lug ole from finishing my calls?

1. No. Phone in car on stend for navigator. Proximity sensor does not see anything.
2. To switch to back navigation when driving.
3. To not stop video capture on incoming voice call.
4. In SOME countries. Some - is not all.
Hello,
Have any of you had a problem of auto disconnection with the application? I have already restored the factory settings several times and the problem still occurs maybe one of you had such a problem and could advise me how to deal with it, I don't get any notifications, which starts to irritate me
Regards
what device (model and ROM version) and what phone? Without any info about your setup it's very hard to try to help...
Anyway, the most common causes to connection issues are other app that may conflict with Amazfit app or kill it while in the background (check your phone settings) and Bluetooth/WiFi conflict. To test the later, disable all WiFi, put phone in Airplane mode then turn only Bluetooth on and see if connection gets better.
I have Stratos A1619 with PolishROM my phone is Huawei Mate 10 lite, but on any kind of ROM that problem occurs
Put your phone in Airplane mode and turn on only Bluetooth, make sure Amazfit app is open and running, confirm that watch is connected then move watch away from the phone. How far can you go without disconnecting? If it disconnects after just 30-50cm then most probably it's a hardware issue. But I'd recommend that you go entirely stock to test these things, it's hard to pinpoint anything using modified ROM.
Heey, you have options in that place where you can uninstall app, battery saving mode or optimization - sth like that. I have stratos and note9 and i have the same problem. Watch seems like have connection (top options at top left symbol phone with tick that means - connected to phone). But phone is saying disconnected. What helps - turn in airplane mode in watch, wait few seconds and turn airplane mode off.
But as i was saying - check battery optimization options and turn that function off in phone. If you are from Poland then write to me PM - i try to explain this in out native language
hi, after pie update I haven't this option. I would like to set the phone with the position only on mobile networks and wifi, without physical GPSI you can tell me how I can set it? thanks
That option is gone, don't know why....in the same boat
without any normal explanation

Google either choose simplification or flat out removed the setting. As for why in some sense it makes things simpler for developers and virtually most (not all obviously). Linked two articles out of the multiple google search results below that pertain to the question.
I maybe totally going out on a limb to guess (and I am, not something I am to fond of doing honestly) since GPS/Location services only turns on when it is needed maybe the option was unnecessary?
Granted the choice would be nice, but so far I haven't seen anything in my usage that shows GPS location is a battery killer. In fact I get a lot more active use out of my phone now as it is then I did previously on Oreo, which is rather nice IMHO.

fyi...
The option seems to be there.
On the Pixel phones you can enable it via "developer options" -> "featured flag"
Samsung decided to ditch this feature flag, why i don't know.
But with tasker and my unrooted S9 i could enable the battery saving mode.
Although you can't verify i think it works.
As i use Life360 which triggers the GPS when opened and haven't seen the GPS icon since i toggled to battery saving mode.
So as lomg as it works i'm happy.
Task:
Location Mode - > Mode: battery Saving
Hi
Does the oppo 5g work with mirrorlink or Android auto?. I can't seem to get it working
Thanks
I'm having similar issues. I often randomly manage to get it connected eventually with some combination of un-plugging and plugging in my phone while my car is off then turing the ignition and usually Android Auto works fine after, but I think the problem comes back again if I reboot my phone! Anyone else got any closer to finding a fix?

Well, to be precise, I can say that OPPO Reno 10x Zoom 4G 6GB RAM variant works great on Android Auto (preloaded). I can't say for MirrorLink due to lack of hardware I own.
While in Trial/Beta version I think I had issues with some configuration of notifications (at that time ColorOS goes to DND automatically), due to which My display was not getting any notification which phone should send it, CALLS were all going silent, no info no display either!
But there have been a lot of fixes recently, not have been able to check due to lockdown.
I found a "Default USB configuration" option in the Developer Options menu (you need to enable developer mode on your phone to see this). After changing the default option from "No data transfer" to "File transfer" Android Auto is now working reliably for me with my car stereo.
Hope this helps...
As i say in the title. The watch don't go to sport mode when i start (running mode for example)... from the smartphone.
But it work fine when i start it from my watch.
If i start training from the watch i can see real time heart beat and distance .. etc... without click on anything. But i cant see the map on the phone.
In the second hand. When i start it from the phone (galaxy s8) i can see the map and data on the smartphone but can't see it on the wach...
I believe I do something wrong. I can't believe this is the way it should work...
