Build.prop : Universal flashed zip for any rom & any base just put it in ur SD card & flashed before reboot do a wipe cache & dalvik please

1. With a root explorer(I prefer ES file explorer), copy /system/build.prop to the root of the internal sdcard (/mnt/sdcard).
2. Connect phone to computer and copy the file on your computer.
3. With Notepad++, open build.prop and edit it. Be careful as some of the parameters already exist. Just change their values.
4. Save and copy the file back to your phone's root.
5. Overwrite /system/build.prop with the edited file.
6. Make sure that the permissions are still rw-r--r--:
7. Reboot into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik cache.
8. New values should be applied now.

raises your pic quality to 100% and so forth. The code you put into build.prop starts at ro and ends after true. Hope that helps, and always do a back up before playing around with build.prop! Enjoy

Before releasing a new ROM that I have been working on I thought I would share the build.prop file that it uses. I felt that it might generate some useful discussion. If that discussion leads to problems fixed or performance gained (in any ROM) then that would be splendid.
It is likely that many of the settings in fact do nothing -- it is really not practical to test them all. I am, however, concerned about settings that users feel introduce problems and/or degrade performance.
I tried to make it human readable, however that comes at the cost of easy diffing with your current file.

The above build.prop has been tested successfully for approximately one week with the bet-you-cannot-guess-the-name ROM that I have been working on. I have NOT tested with any existing ROMs.

Anyways, I can't say I know what even half of the lines in the build.prop do, but if it works for you, I'd imagine anyone who still has their Jetstreams would be happy with whatever you come up with.

The above build.prop has been tested successfully for approximately one week with the bet-you-cannot-guess-the-name ROM that I have been working on. I have NOT tested with any existing ROMs.

I'm glad to hear it. The biggest detail is that it is deSensed -- with the exception of the lock screen and camera/camcorder. Even the setup wizard is vanilla Android. Not everyone will like this fact, but there are other ROMs available for folks that need HTC Sense.
I've bundled a few recommended apps, but even with them your app drawer will be less than one page. There are fewer services running and less stuff cluttering your share menus. Less is more -- in my opinion.
It will come with different sounds, newer fonts, updated standard apps and updated tools. You won't have to update much after installing -- at least for the next while. I've also bundled a different gallery, but the integration isn't perfect. Third party camera and camcorder apps should work a little better than with other Jetstream ROMs.
There are a few more details, but those are the biggest details. I'll have a very comprehensive changelog for those that are interested.
It is all packaged up in an AROMA installer that I hope gets new users interested in trying ROMs. I'll shoot the third video in my stock-to-custom-ROM series after I release Hive.
It is still Honeycomb 3.1, but I might try to get 3.2 working in the future. Beyond that is nearly impossible without HTC help.

Grand Prime (All Models) Doesn't support OTG since it can't bring power for external USB devices So it cant be a USB Host ... its just a USB Client .
Hardware doing it doesn't exits on Mainboard
However I put a option for it and it s ON in build.prop Just for you

Did you made a nandroid backup? If not, factory reset from recovery, if that doesn't help, flash stock rom.

my unit is fine now. what i did was i flashed my unit via odin and now i'm thinking if i still try to modify my unit using your build.prop.
i just want to ask if your modified "build.prop" is applicable to ALL grandprime firmwares?? another thing is that i want to suggest that in your tutorial please include the troubleshooting of our unit in case of failure. I made back-up the last time i try but i don't know how to use when my unit was bricked. BTW thanks for your thread.

Thanks I'm just a bit noob of this build.prop and It took me 10mins to look for permission to rw-r-r that he's talking about...
anyways before I paste the file or the text... will It be compatible with my firmware because It's for G530HXCU1AOE2 and my phone is G530HXCU1AOA2... should I replace that name?

I deed go with initial devlik heap size of 16MB instead of 8 as 8 doesn't fit so it's increased almost instantly. I am still testing them my self but I have to say impressions are rather good in many arias from tasks witching to more tasks steady remaining in RAM. Less to none apps crashing & also far less lag in memory hungry apps. All this as this should actually initial save a pretty good amount of ram compared to initial reference settings. The positive effect on battery life remains to be seen but it certainly is positive. I am testing it on last official CM12.1.
You may also want to try:
debug.enabletr=1
It enables Tile based rendering. The tile based rendering is faster but it also needs more time for textures to be loaded so results don't have to be always positive (even in most cases they are). Tile based rendering on the other hand certainly also saves some power.
Even Adrenos aren't top of the pops in Tile based rendering (compared to MALI's & PowerVR where this is default rendering mode) it certainly helps.
Let me demonstrate in tied screanshot.
For rendering composition I use:
debug.composition.type=dyn
This is basically to let it choose by flags between GPU & CPU all do most things are GPU rendered this day's still saving some juice on those that are ment to be rendered on CPU is a good thing. It naturally goes with:
dev.pm.dyn_samplingrate=1
I find this surface flinger config best up to date:

It saves a lot on resources even compared to defaults not to mention over exaggerated other ones & yet it produces very smooth results.

It does cost a bit of speed (rather not significant) but I still recommend it to be used in contrast to same page merging where performance hit is significant enough.

Well honey install the busy box comands extension binary.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=stericson.busybox
(that is installer).
It is possible to manually adjust output levels with good root Explorer & text editor but I don't recommend you to do that as you are obviously a noob.
Anyway the file is located at root /system/etc/mixer_paths.xml
& your interest is only in the:

I had to modify something in the build prop file and now viper works but I don't think it increases the in call volume or overall volume. It just gives better headphone audio.

LOL. When you install ViPER4Android it mods build.prop by it self disabling lo power (DSP) audio decoding. It's natural that it doesn't touch cellular radio layer (fm radio & calls), however all adjustments are in the mentioned omx file.
Thank you very much. I am trying all of these tweaks on my s5 running cm14 ROM and it looks like its running perfectly fine so far. I will test more and see what kind of improvements I get.
Thanks for combining all of these in a single thread. It just removed the need of any kind of performance or tweaking app.
How to apply this tweak? Do I just paste it into build.prop and then reboot? I have cm 12.1
