Confirmed Faulty Lumia 920 Main Board - How to get a Replacement - Nokia Lumia 920

Hi everyone, my out of warranty Nokia Lumia 920 recently just freeze up, started showing noisy display and later went blank. After replacing the screen and the digitizer without any difference in the fault indication, it was later concluded the main board needs to be replaced. So, the help that I need is how to get a replacement unlocked/international board. I care not if it is refurbished as long as the board can be certified working. My location is Nigeria and can be reached on [email protected]. I'll appreciate any help that anyone can render.

Yellow 920 - Warranty Replacement Issues?

I have been on the waiting list to get my Yellow 930 warranty replaced for over a month now.
Anyone else having this issue? If I change colors, then I can get one ASAP, but it seems holding out for another yellow is going to be a looooong wait.
Thanks

My friend has the Yellow 920, went directly online to do a repair from Nokia website. 10 Days later, he got it back, they replaced the unit.
in the paperwork and his email it stated, that to preserve color preference, they transfered the case from original device.
might want to give them a try instead

[Q] Samsung Repair Center?

I was wondering what everyone's dealings are with Samsung, regarding their Note 2 is. I am on my 3rd Note, and I love the phone but the earpiece is defective (causing static) which did it on all 3 notes that i had. Eventually, Verizon said I needed to contact Samsung stating while they can give me a new phone, they weren't sure it would fix the problem.
Contacted Samsung on 2/9
Received Label/Ticket Number 2/9
Shipped Phone back 2/11
Monitored....monitored....monitored...
Samsung Received phone 2/13 (today)
2/15/2013 11:23 AM-Carlos Negrete: The unit has left the technician. SOLUTION: Replaced Component
*02/14/2013//10:08:16//0001773863//Telephone//ASC* scratch on screen (Screen Protector)
2/13/2013 2:11 PM-Dulce Amaya: The unit has been received. Pack Condition: Fair Packaging (Box & Cushion)
Expected Repair Date: 2/20th
I'm wondering if it'll really take an entire week (5 business days) to fix the phone and by fix, I mean simply replacing the earpiece in the phone. I barely got to use the phone and had just rooted it (don't worry, I returned it to stock before sending it in) and had finally gotten the phone exactly the way I wanted.
Has anyone else had to send their Note 2 in yet? I couldn't exchange it at Verizon again because it's past the 14 days, so it has to go through Samsung now.
EDIT: Have just determined that the Samsung repair center is a joke. They put a message about a scratched screen on the repair status website.....if they would take off the SCREEN PROTECTOR....there would not be.
Looks like I may be getting the phone quicker than expected (hopefully).

[Q] L9 ii d605 rebooting constantly and company claims board needs replacement

Out of their warranty of course because the phone shows drop marks
They told me that the board is damaged and that is why the phone keeps rebooting. Anyone else had a similar problem?
Thanks in advance.

Yes fight with them. Ask them to provide proof that the phone is damaged, tell them its wear and tear.
I bricked my phone. I sent it in and they told me the exact same thing. I went on Facebook and wrote on there wall. I told them to prove I dropped it and that the problem is a result of drop damage. They sent me a new phone .
I sent a patronizing complaint on their page but I'll get a second opinion when they return my phone.
My main complaint is the cost of the repair which they quoted 100euros+vat while the sale price if the phone has now dropped to 170 euros I know they ship the phones to an LG authorized repair center but the repair price is beyond belief...

Hardware damaged ZTE Z7 mini - (Warranty question)

Hi everyone,
I had ZTE for 2 weeks when I went to the the rainforest in Australia. (Near Mission Beach) It was extremely hot there, they said it was a heat wave. When I last looked at the mercury thermometer it was about 42°C in the sun, It was extremely humid as well. So not really good conditions for any electronics or people I guess?
After 3 days my phone didn't do anything any more, it was completely charged in the morning 2 hours later it didn't do anything it wouldn't unlock screen's completely black.
Things I tried:
- Holding power for a minute.
- Charging it for a full day.
- Hooking it to my computer.
- Waiting a week.
It's completely unresponsive only the red dot appearers when I plug it in.
I contacted the seller and they only responded with:
hello,
sorry for the problem, may I know what is the problem on the phone more clearly? it can;t be turned on after charging?
the phone we sent you was the original one and has been tested before shipment.

hello,
sorry, if the phone has been used, we will check it if it was new, then offer refund .
would you please just return us the phone for checking and replacement?

Now my question is:
Are there stickers in the ZTE that indicate overheating or water damage or anything like that?
Or any other reason they could refuse me the warranty? Heat and humidity shouldn't be a reason for the phone to die right?
My Oneplus one also did from the heat here in Australia, and they only want to replace it not refund it. So I need to pay to send it back to them, then they send me a new one to Belgium so my family can sell there. Hopefully I will just get my money back for the ZTE because now I'm here with 2 unresponsive smartphones and loads of trouble with the warranty.
Thanks in advance!
Interesting question. I have a Nubia z7 mini, and recently I was in vegas for 1 week, and temperatures there were between 42 and 48 degrees everyday. Never had an issue with my phone. there is no sticker for heat damage. But there is for water damage, its under the cover.
To be honest I would not have mentioned heat to the seller, I would of said it just didnt turn on one day for no reason. unless you got it wet, there should be no issue getting a replacement or repair I doubt they will refund your money.
That is the one big down side of buying imported Chinese phones. The way I see it is once you own the phone your on your own. Dont expect great customer service or warranty cover once your money is handed over. If they offer to repair or replace I would just get the phone back to them asap even if it costs you shipping as you are lucky you have a seller that even replies to your emails!

Please help with a possible S6 repair con.

Please can anybody with experience of galaxy s6 repair help.
A couple of weeks ago I turned of my s6 one night, next morning I tried to turn it on but it wouldn't, it was completely unresponsive, black screen no lights, the phone has never been dropped or damaged in anyway or been anywhere near water.
When it was switched off the battery was almost fully charged, so I knew it wasn't a dead battery but I tried the charger anyway. There was no charging light and the back of the phone near the rear camera got quite hot within a couple of minutes. I tried a soft reset but it didn't work.
So then I took it to a local phone shop for repair. The guy in the shop said that he'll send the phone of the workshop for a diagnostic. Anyway he called up and said the motherboard is faulty and needed to replaced. Now he phoned up again and the guy who is fixing the phone is now saying the screen also needs to be replaced, apparently the backlight is not working. Now I know amoled screens do not have any backlight, so I asked him what exactly is wrong with the screen as it's a amoled screen it doesn't have a back light, he said he doesn't know just the engineer said the backlight doesn't work. He said the repair would cost £149.
My question can a faulty motherboard damage the screen? is he what he is saying plausible or is he trying a con?
Thanks in advance for any reply's.

A faulty motherboard can damage the screen (in various ways). All screens have backlight (except for screens like the old Nokia 3310 had) so the layers of your screen might be damaged or have leaked since there is a fluid "sticking" the layers together. This is (obviously) not a software problem, but I would like to know if you were rooted, had any custom ROMs/kernels and did you have XPosed installed. How did you root and did you have a custom recovery?
All my statements are afaik (as far as I know) and based upon real life experiences, if anything I wrote is wrong, feel free to correct me as we are all learning .
Thanks for the reply, I hadn't rooted the phone, all I had done was replace the vodafone firmware to stock firmware as I was no longer on vodafone and wanted to remove all the bloatware, but that was many months ago and everything was working fine.
I just find it odd that a perfectly working phone can be damaged so badly for no obvious reason, it wasn't plugged into the charger, I just turned it off one night put it on my desk, tried to turn it on next morning and it was dead.
So does the repair seem legit to you? I am just a bit weary as I know how easy it would be to charge for parts that aren't necessary. Also is there anyway I could check if the screen has really been changed as the display on my phone was in perfect condition, not a single mark or scratch or any thing to identify it against a brand new screen.

Hmmm, okay.
If you have the right tools you can probably make a mark with a marker or something that won't damage the screen and then when they "replace" it you can check if it is still there. By the way, I don't mean on the screen but on that metal part on the underside of the screen. If you don't want to make such a thing because you maybe don't have the necessary tools, make a tiny scratch that you can locate but won't affect using the phone or not visible unless you really take a close look. If you don't want to do that you can take it to an official Samsung retailer or send it to them (this is probably the most recommended option).
Unfortunately the phone already at the repair shop, I got a call a few days ago telling me that the logic board was damaged and needed to be replaced, I agreed to that repair, now he called again today and said the display also needs to be changed. That's why I'm a bit suspicious, I can understand how the motherboard maybe faulty and may have died, but the display also? maybe he damaged the display when trying to change the motherboard or he's charging for unnecessary work or maybe he's telling the truth and the faulty motherboard killed the display, I don't know.
I was wondering if there's something in the firmware which keeps count of the number of times a part has been replaced or how long the display has been used for or a way I can check the date of the display manufacture without opening the phone.

Unfortunatly, no,but if the phone is working after the repair that means it is fixed! If not, they will give you a replacement since they test everything to make sure it works.
