!NEED HELP! - Weird Message in Notification Bar

Just recently, I tried downloading a picture off the internet (and if you must know it was a picture of a cow with its tongue sticking out ) from my phone and instead of downloading the .jpg or .png file it shows the message "9k=.bin" I've tried turning the phone on and off and even a hard reset as well as toggling the airplane mode but it still shows that it is downloading despite having no internet connection. I can't get rid of it no matter what I do. PLEASE HELP!

Have you tried opening downloads, canceling the download and deleting the file?

Deleting the file likely won't clear it from the taskbar. Instead, go to Menu -> Apps -> Download Manager . . . force stop and clear data. That should clear it from the task bar and allow you to re-download it.

try hitting your phone with a hammer... sometimes the buffers get stuck and you have to do a "Hard Reset"...
Lol can you imagine some taking that advice to heart? 8)

[Q] My phone is randomly restarting?

Hello, I was browsing with Google Chrome on the SGS3 when all of a sudden it reset(which is not uncommon...seems to be a Chrome thing), and when the lockscreen came back up the LED flashed blue, and the screen went blank. 5ish seconds later, the lockscreen reappears, I have no service (literally the circle with a line through it) and after a few seconds I get the blue LED flash and the cycle repeats. For almost 10 minutes straight now. I have not tried to get into recovery mode, but I have removed/reinstalled the battery.
Any ideas or suggestions?
The only thing I can think of is that it was in a backpack on a hiking trip today and got very hot. It wasn't in use during that time though, and I hadn't seen any errors with it for at least 6 hours afterward until this happened.
More info, I have stock everything. Touchwiz launcher, etc...

...just did. Sadly, I did not have a way to backup anything because it was in the reset loop (or whatever you'd call that)
What could have caused it? Is it an issue with the stock ROM? I have custom ROMs on all my other phones, I was waiting until the SGS3 development matured a bit before I dove in, but now I'm not so sure that waiting is a good idea...
Maybe caused by apps that you installed.

Play Store error

My fiance can't access the play store on her P769. I forget what the error is, but she used to be able to access it. Her date and time is correct. It's rooted, but with the stock rom and kernel (I think the software version is P76920H).
Any ideas? Thanks!

Try to erase play store cache in settings. If it wouldn't help try to delete google account, and login again.

Rooted?
Go to Root Browser and navigate to System -> Etc, and find the "hosts" file. Delete it and reboot. That should fix it. You're welcome.

I haven't spent any time with her phone over the past month, but I'm working on it today. Since I first wrote, it lost it's ability to access data over the cell network, and won't connect to many wifi networks, either. I cleared data for Play Store and Play Services. I get a notification that it needs to update Play Services, but when I click on that, it goes to Play Store and says "No connection - Retry".
I want to wipe the phone and start new with a fresh ROM, but I can't remember how to reboot to Recovery. Holding volume-down while it powers up doesn't get me into Recovery. I'm not having much luck with Google on that, either.

Might have to do a factory reset and reroot it. I forgot the method on doing a factory reset. Something about holding a lot of buttons down.. check around, someone will tell you.

Just in case you haven't got it figured out yet. Power off phone. Turn back on and wait for the Lg logo to come on and when the bottom back lights start blinking hold the - volume button and it will go to recovery

Thanks! I didn't figure that out, but I managed to fix her phone (including wi-fi/data and Play Store) by re-flashing the stock ROM with the LGST tool. I remembered holding volume-down when powering up the phone from my HTC phones, but I guess you hold volume-down at a different point in the boot process with LG phones.

Red screen

Hello guys,
Today while I was using Llama to config some actions my screen got red, yes... seems to be a red layer over all the screen.
It doesn't flash or blink and isn't that red border error.
I tried to reboot. While shuting down or turning on the screen is normal, the Samsung logo screens are normal. When the android stars the screen is red again.
I also tried to change screen configs on native screen config options, but had no sucess.
The attached file shows the error...
PS: what seems to be the red layer does not apply to notifications, wifi connection in the screenshot.
Does anyone have any suggestion about this?
Thanks!

Try something for me, if you could: adjust the brightness manually. Does it affect the color or how much it is colored? Does just removing Llama help or the settings are already stuck? Factory reset and / or reloading the OS is always an option, though not always the most desirable one.
Thanks for your reply.
When adjusting the brightness manually the red color follows the brightness changes.
I have removed Llama and restarted the phone, but nothing has changed.
Yes... i was thinking about factory reset, but will wait a little before that =)

Interesting info: when someone calls me the screen gets normal (no more red overlay) until the end of the call. After the call is finished everything is red again!!!
So weird lol...

Maybe you can run a logcat and look for it there?
That's exaclty what happened!
Could you help me how to do that?
I don't know exactly how to run the log.

Or on PC if you have adb setup:
adb logcat
Then post your findings to pastebin.org for others to read it easiest.
I have uninstalled lux lite dash, which manages screen brightness,; and the problem was gone!
Thks for your help guys!

Ahhh You didn't mention having that one. Definitely would have been a...red flag.

[Q] Won't get past the load screen

I have tried to turn on my Omate TrueSmart for the first time and it wont get past the original startup screen. Is there anything I can do please?
Tried pulling the battery? I know its not ideal but I just had to do the same thing after booting into recovery. Had to fix permissions with superuser
