do you have spelling correction in "Settings->Language & Input"?
if yes then untick that option then spell correction will be disabled.
this is a new feature in ICS if you tab on underlined word it will show you spelling suggestion similar you can see in MS Word on windows.
it its not there then there is some issue with framework.jar
if you want to enable this feature then you can visit my thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1641988
if above setting is not present and you do not want to use this feature then copy setting.apk from said post and then you will find Settings->Language & Input -> Seplling Correction" untick that option.
Hope this will resolve this issue. but for me spellchecker is a really good thing to have in ICS.
Thanks

Solution
Hi!
I have the very same problem as I speak with my friends in 4 different languages. After a lot of search I found the solution to completely disable the red underlining: selecting "Alphabet" (QUERTY) as your keyboard language, as I describe below:
1 Download the "Google Keyboard" app from the google Play
2 Go to keyboard settings - in lollypop it is under Settings > My device > Language and Input
3 Enter into "Google Keyboard" to show the google keyboard settings, and then go into "Languages"
4 Disable "Use system language" and ONLY enable "Alphabet (QUERTY)" from the list of languages (you will probably find it between Afrikaans and Arabic)
5 Go back again to Settings > My device > Language and Input, enter "Default" and select "Alphabet (QWERTY)" as default
VoilĂ !
Hi,
When I went into "Input Languages" to add a few languages I needed, I noticed that there are 3 asian-looking languages (chinese, japanese, vietnamese?) that I never asked for. So I tried to delete them but I was not allowed to. I was offered only to delete the languages that I installed myself. I would think that those languages waste a lot of valuable space on my 16G disk. Is there a way to delete them? My phone is rooted.
Thank you,
Igor

Those languages, I believe, are part of Samsung keyboard app. Is it safe to uninstall it? I am using swype anyway.

Click on "Settings" wheel on top. Then
My device -> Language and input -> Samsung keyboard settings -> Input languages
There it shows "Downloaded languages" and "Available languages".
Among downloaded languages there were some that I do not need but could not delete and that's very annoying because, I think, each language takes a few tens of Mbs. Those languages that I myself promoted from "Available" to "Downloaded" can be deleted.
Thank you!
Hi, is there any way to change the language of the apps installed on the phone? I mean, H2OS only have Chinese and Enlglish languages, but Whatsapp, Playstore and so on, have plenty. Is there a way to make them show the language I choose instead of system default?
Ty in advance.

I don't think so, unless you decompile (or something like that) the rom and add it manually.
Btw, this should really go into the H2OS thread, not into a new thread, more people will be able to help you if you post it in the right place. :good:

I don't want to change the system language. I want to make apps think that the system language is Spanish, so they are installed on spanish instead of english.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-app-settings-v1-9-2014-05-14-t2437377
install this xposed module, the "locale" setting should do the trick.
there are apps for this on play store. morelocale or something like that. just set the language and it works
I have a canadian version S9 plus and I want to change the system language (GUI)
I go to General Management-Language and Input-Language and I see the option to add language.
Then I select from the 3 dot menu all languages and I select the language I want
I put my new language first and default.
Now this is where the problem comes.
While all basic icons have changed to my new language my settings is half translated.
Some options are translated to the new language but the most of them are still in english
Does anyone know how to change the settings completely in the new language?

What do you mean? I have to edit the firmware or I have to go to a samsung store? Will the store flash something extra for the languages?

Indeed go to the Samsung store they gonna flash it. Gonna give it a dry later today.
Just ask them what exactly they do. Check your firmware version before and after. Also check what software they use if you can
