when I was in JellyBean, GPS can lock accuratelly...even with GPS only setting location.
but since updated to KitKat G4, GPS only- can't lock location at all. it always shows "Searching using GPS..." on notification panel.
any idea how to fix it?

Hi, i'm trying to fix this case for few days.
There's Jikantaru XE ROM on my WS - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1314430.
Everything works perfectly except GPS.
There is no any icon on notification bar. Of course iGo or Google Navigation is working.
I tried to turn on the GPS with settings=>location=>use GPS.. and with shortcut in notification bar. No response.
I installed GPSFix and after 15min fixing there's no response as well.
Anyone knows what's wrong?
I think updating recovery solved the problem.

There has been much discussion on the GB ROM about GPS signal going in and out when using Maps. I'm now on ICS (NRG ROM) and it takes about 5 minutes to lock for me, and sometimes when i'm driving the GPS signal will loose the lock and can take some time to get it back.
People have suggested to disable the Filter GPS speed and the sensor filtering settings in GPS status app. What's everyone's thoughts? What's the best configuration?
I'm on CM9 nighly 20120729 and XXLPH and want to navigate on my motorcycle only by audio, using latest CoPilot.
However when I turn my screen off, navigation stops working.
Losing the GPS fix is not a problem. I am not running any battery savers or custom kernel.

I installed cm 7.2 to see if this would resolve the issue, but to no avail. Is it then save to assume that it is something on device or application level?
Hi there folks! I just flashed slimkat 4.4.2 build 4 stable on my sgs3 and noticed that the wifi and celular signal strength icons not turn blue anymore when connected to the Internet.
Can this be turned again back on?
Entered every section of the settings menu on slimkat and found nothing that could solve my issue. Thanks in advance

Thats because kitkat is all white and it no longer support turning to other color when connected. Every kitkat rom has this "feature"
Anyone else having their GPS toggling on by itself? I have revoked all permissions to location but still happening....
Bumping this, i bought my wife a Sprint V30 and did the conversion to US998 and mine is an H933 converted to US998 and both continually turn on location on their own. Driving me fuggin nuts and drains battery. Can't believe we are the only ones with this problem...
thats the darn lg-weather-service (for lockscreen or their own widget) . it has hardcoded right to access detailed location (wlan + GPS.) ..so being a system-app it looks like it always turns on GPS when trying to get a location ... guess location stays in "gps + wlan" then
if you dont need weather-info from the lg-service (for lookscreen snow+rain) just disable it or take away its access to location fully

I have all the animations enabled. There's more than just snow, rain.

Everything weather related is disabled but gps still turns itself on incessantly. Turned off location permissions for everything, no effect, driving me nuts.
