Hi, i'm trying to fix this case for few days.
There's Jikantaru XE ROM on my WS - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1314430.
Everything works perfectly except GPS.
There is no any icon on notification bar. Of course iGo or Google Navigation is working.
I tried to turn on the GPS with settings=>location=>use GPS.. and with shortcut in notification bar. No response.
I installed GPSFix and after 15min fixing there's no response as well.
Anyone knows what's wrong?
I think updating recovery solved the problem.

My compass and GPS have always worked with the different ROMs and kernels I've tried. I was running MIUIWiz and I think the compass has worked since I flashed it but now my compass has quit working. It'll show on the screen but will not spin to show direction. I tried all the settings with no luck. I flashed ComRom with OTB kernel thinking it was maybe something with that but still no luck. We do alot of hiking and I would love for the compass to work. The GPS works great just no compass. Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks
An interesting thing is that I also lost auto-rotation of the screen. Even if auto-rotate is on it still won't rotate on any screen with any app. I've been using Go Launcher but tried others and still won't work. I don't know if compass sensors and sensors that activate auto rotate if related but neither work. Any suggestions?
They are different sensors.
Try downloading GPS Status and calibrating your compass (under the tools menu). If that doesn't work, try downloading a metal detector app and see if you get any response. If you're getting no reading at all, then it may be a hardware failure. If the reading is there but off, it may be a calibration issue.
A temporary revert to stock EB01 fixed this issue for me, see:

If you're having rotate problems, with adb or root explorer, delete m3c_sensor.cfg I think from /data/system and then toggle auto rotate. That should fix your problems.

Just an update for those who are looking for a full screen GPS Navigation.
Successfully tested 2 app's which run perfectly:
1. Sygic GPS Navigation 11.0.2
2. Waze
Both are great & support multi language and real time traffic info. & alerts.
As for IGO8 , it does come up but not full screen, only partial, i guess its a screen resultion theme issue which IGO8 does not support yet.
Anyone managed to have IGO8 on full screen ?
I'm on CM9 nighly 20120729 and XXLPH and want to navigate on my motorcycle only by audio, using latest CoPilot.
However when I turn my screen off, navigation stops working.
Losing the GPS fix is not a problem. I am not running any battery savers or custom kernel.

I installed cm 7.2 to see if this would resolve the issue, but to no avail. Is it then save to assume that it is something on device or application level?
when I was in JellyBean, GPS can lock accuratelly...even with GPS only setting location.
but since updated to KitKat G4, GPS only- can't lock location at all. it always shows "Searching using GPS..." on notification panel.
any idea how to fix it?

hi
first problem that i don't know how to solve. i was searching but didn't find that problem or solution for it. so here it is.i make some test shaking app (random numbers). after few shakings ui dies. restarting it doesn't solve the issue. dead ui behaves like very slow opening status bar, very slow sim unlocking (and typing in that dialog too). apps are running ok. folder openning is ok. i tried to play with ambient display, live display, and similar display options but issue is still here. i tried to restart ui but issues stays. when this happened background become black. changing background...issues stays. playing (changing) with themes...issues stays. rebooting...soft...hard...you name it...issue is here.
this happened with Resurrection Remix MM latest version and with Beanstalk MM latest version.
i am not sure where is the problem. my app? device sensor? CM 13?
anyone have something like that?
new rom flash....no issues...until i run my app
and from time to time i get err dialog (working or not working) saying that UI stopped functioning, and then UI restart but issues stays...
