Could anyone link me to a guide or give some steps as on how to extract just the baseband from an ftf file and create a flashable zip?

Were you ever able to make one? I'm getting issues with data on tmobile with my Z2 on all non-stock roms. I'm clearly missing something but haven't found jack on the subject yet. Nobody's even responded once in weeks. This is bizarre.
No the guide didn't work the same for z2 ftf files unfortunately.

sorry but those .sin files I already have, and I don't know how to install...
I could Provide a German Generic 2.1.1.A.0.6 ftf
for U20i
Could you? I, and many others, would be gratefull
Use the latest Flash tool.
1. Go to Advanced > Bundle creation.
2. Select the folder containing the .sin files.
3. Add all sins to firmware contents, provide the Device, version and branding.
4. Click Ok, It will convert the .sin to flashable files
5. Then Click on Flash, It should have a new flash-able firmware, you just created.
how many sin files there are? I have two...one with 12mb and another with 104 mb
and the flashtool doesn't recognize those files!
EDIT: Sorry, didn't work
Does anyone have the original kernel?
I could be blind but in all the kernel and roms pages I haven't yet seen a posting of the original...so how would you flash back? Just SEUS?
If you do a serious mod you should always have the original ready....
search ST15i_4.0.2.A.0.62_(1251-0020).ftf for flash tool, that is the stock kernell
Are you sure? I thought that was the entire rom?
I upgraded to .62 then couldn't root so flashed .42 ftf and that was the entire rom.
Thanks
Just download semc .ftf, open it as .zip and search kernel.sin. Flash it via fastboot and you're fine!
this didn't work. I tried flashing just kernel and it flashed the whole rom anyway.

Did you extract only kernel.sin to the folder and flashed the whole rom?Maybe you have the whole rom on flash folder and somehow you flash it...?
What I have is a .42 ftf. So using the flash tool I selected only kernel.
Do you mean to open and extract the ftf? How do you do that? Windows has no idea how to open it.
Thanks
QeneX just told youRename it to blablabla.zip and then extract to some folder or right click open with whatever program you use (winrar 7zip etc) and extract files somewhere.Find kernel.sin and flash only that not the whole rom

Hi guys,
I'm new here, sorry if this isn't the right place...
I'm a GS3 owner and just flashed the ROM I9300XXDLJ5_I9300ODDDLI7_INU.
I would like to flash the SpeedMod kernel but before doing that I need to know how do I install the stock kernel if needed.
Can you point to the right direction?
Thank you
If you make a backup, resorting the backup will also restore the kernel
I did, but I don't want to restore the whole thing... all I want is to restore the kernel if needed.
Tell me, extract boot.img from India ROM and make a new .tar with this single file will work?
Thank you

Try to search forum or Google to find your stock kernels flashable zip or tar . Download it.. it will works. But pay attention to ICS / JB difference.. flash right kernel.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
you could also extract it from the ROM's file and flash it I guess.
Thank you guys.
Extracted boot.img from Sammy Indian Rom and made a new .Tar using S3 Toolkit.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you have a locked BL and you're rooted, if you install a Locked BL CWM, is other not the option in Advanced- Create firmware zip? Can someone do that for him?

In this case Im out of the game :crying:
Im so sorry but I cant help
I also faced that problem a while ago, as a stock update.zip would be very useful. Flashing a file via cwm is much more faster than booting up flashtool and flash a ftf file. I was able to extract the firmware files from a ftf file with flashtool but I just didn't know how to pack them into an update.zip. My main problem is that I didn't know how to set the permissions correctly.
EDIT: Ah. I think I found something out. This website sounds good. I think that is what you are looking for. http://www.xda-developers.com/android/easily-extract-ics-system-files-from-sony-xperia-ftf-files/
EDIT2: To build an update.zip package this could work. http://www.xda-developers.com/android/extract-ftf-files-and-turn-them-into-flashable-zips/
EDIT3: And with this tool you can unpack the ext4 files of a xu ics ftf file. http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidicsjbext/files/20130408/ext4_unpacker_exe.zip/download
EDIT4: I sum up the extraction process:
0. Get a ftf file(e.g. this generic ics ftf http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2075526)
1. Get flashtool, 7zip and the ext4_unpacker(see above)
2. Open firmware ftf file with 7zip and extract system.sin
3. Flashtool->Tools->Sin Editor-> Select system.sin file. -> Dump data
4. Open extracted system.ext4 file with the ext4_unpacker and extract system files to a folder called system/.
Now anyone has to figure out how to create an update.zip file. I think that's the harder part.

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knew what the most current baseband is for the T-Mobile HTC One?
And if there is a flashable zip of it somewhere on the interwebs?
Thanks :good:

Just in case you haven't found it the current baseband is 4T.27.3218.14_10.33C.1718.01L. You can make your own flashable zip by removing the radio.img file out of the latest OTA file. Then download a flashable zip from
[Radio Dumps] Collection of different Radio Images and replace the radio.img file with the one from the OTA. This thread [HOW-TO]Flash latest Radio in Recovery will walk you through the steps to flash and make a backup of the original one prior to flashing.
Much appreciated, thanks. :good:
Should have thought about just extracting the radio image, makes sense.
