[Q] voice mail icon question - Verizon LG G3
Hi All, When I get a voice mail notification in the status bar and i hit the icon for vm in notifications, it automatically opens the v v m app, similarly, in the stock dialer if I hit the voice mail icon, it automatically opens the visual voice mail app. There is an added fee for this app per month and I declined the service. Does anyone know if there is a way to get the icon in the notifications for voice mail and the icon in the dialer to dial *86 instead? My old phones have all done this. The alternative is that I cannot access voice mail from the notification in the status bar,; instead, I have to go into the dial pad and hit speed dial 1 or *86. Verizon told me that upon declining the vvm service, my icons (in dialer and status bar) would then default to *86, but this hasn't happened. Anyone have this problem or solve this? Thanks in advance!

Basic visual voice mail is now free.

Or you can use YouMail, which is free and works wonderfully. I have used it for several months, very reliable:

Remove "Call Log" icon from drawer
I managed to kill most of the crapware icons like Add to Home, Layar, etc. but I am unsure how to get rid of the Call Log icon. Is this possible? I always access Call Log from Dialer > Call Log tab or the missed calls puzzle piece/notification shortcut.
Bump, in case anyone knows
Visual Voicemail/SMS notification
Since installing CleanROM 4.0 ICS, I now receive an SMS notification every time I have a Voice Mail. Does anyone know how to turn it off?
I know from the SMS app, if you press the menu button then go to settings it gives you a list that should include: Notifications, Text messages, Multimedia messages, General, Visual voicemail. There are options to turn off the notification sound and vibrate when a voicemail arrives.

Yes, I'm aware of that option, and have disabled it, but the issue I am having is that I am receiving text messages from Verizon telling me I have a VM, and I should install their VVM app. But that app doesn't exist/work with an ICS ROM on the Rezound. I can't imagine no one else has run into this? Bizarre.
I'm running Clean ROM 4.3 and have never had that problem. It works like it always has, with the visual voicemail tab in the messaging app. I get a notification and I can click that or go to the messaging app and click the voicemail button. Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA
[Q] Direct Messaging and Voice Control
Here is my question: I would like to set up a text message shortcut on my home screen using the "direct message" shortcut for a specific contact, BUT I would like the shortcut to open directly into voice control so I can just begin talking (as opposed to opening into the text thread, then having to tap the box to bring up the keyboard, then having to tap the voice control icon). Also, I know about the voice control app (say "text Rob" then start speaking your message). I want to cut out the "To" part of the equation because Google Voice very often gets that part wrong and I end up having to manually change the recipient info. Thanks guys!
Anyone? Sent from my EvoLTE
[Q] Google Voice Inbox widget - where did it go?
On Gingerbread there used to be a Google Voice Inbox 3x1 widget. On Jelly Bean there's a 2x2 widget that shows the account balance at the bottom and also an option to toggle GV calling on/off. It would be fine except for that silly option to toggle GV on/off which is very error prone, I can tap it by accident and not realize I turned GV calling off. So any way to get the old style GV Inbox widget on Jelly Bean? Or any alternative widgets that work well with GV?
Any ideas?
[Q] Voice Mail notification light not working?
Seems I've "de-bloated" my voice mail notification light/indicator by accident in TiBu and can't figure out which app is causing this If I unfreeze Voice Mail 3.11.13 I get the notification/indicator light back AND the annoying VisualVoiceMail terms & conditions page. I just want a voice mail notification Pound Sand Verizon!!
